Thread 12 - hampergeddon

Couldn’t resist the title given the chatter about the hampers. Cross fingers they arrive and are fantastic or that refunds are fast and painless.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Thanks @Lc2006

My DH promised it from Santa before checking how much it was so I need to get it as cheaply as possible

NoSquirrels · 07/11/2019 13:01

Adding to what bikini said about a coffee shop voucher for a fiver, and maybe add a cheap coffee cup, then you’re in the £8 range per present?

Does anyone know if there are any Chilly bottle codes still valid? Or where is best to buy them?

BigmouseLittlehouse · 07/11/2019 13:20

Morning everyone. The thread title really made me chuckle.

Can anyone recommend a karaoke machine at all? I’m thinking of getting it as a family present as although I hate karaoke my kids like nothing more than singing along! Would need to be with two microphones, and be able to play via blue tooth. Looking for £60 ish max. Most of the ones I’ve looked at have very mixed reviews!

I’m a single parent and it’s just me and the boys on Xmas so trying to think of things to make the day more lively and fun!

livingthegoodlife · 07/11/2019 13:20

@PinkDaydreams the scratch cards are out now including a rather cool advent calendar one with 24 mini games (£5). I've bought one for my mum!

We have this bigjigs wooden train whistle www.enchanted-wood.co.uk/bigjigs-train-whistle.ir

Theimpossiblegirl · 07/11/2019 13:21

That link didn't show me a coffee cup but I have just met the dogs of Amazon which was nice.

weebarra · 07/11/2019 13:23

Kids scooter helmets reduced on brand alley today.

Sixp · 07/11/2019 13:28

livingthegoodlife thank you! I couldn’t remember where!

WisestIsShe · 07/11/2019 13:32

My best friend would like an A4 photo folder so she can add extra pages at needed. Trouble is she wants it to look lovely and I'm struggling to find anything nice enough. Has anyone seen one anywhere please? Doesn't even have to be a bargain!

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 07/11/2019 13:38

Recieved a white company christmas brochure today.
Inside was a £10 off voucher with no minimum spend and a 15% off and free delivery code.
Just tried and they stack! Ordered a cute little Jellycat Unicorn and some handcream for £4 delivered.
Don't throw it in the recycling!

Serenity25 · 07/11/2019 13:38

sylvanian families

They also have some good deals on frozen items frozen

eliope · 07/11/2019 13:41

choccyjules then you could put some festive sweets, choc coins, lolly etc in the slipper, done!

Zillaindie · 07/11/2019 13:47

I ordered two of the snowman & santa Christmas nesting dolls for my 2 year old twins as a little stocking filler.
Really nicely painted and good quality. Had to use a bit of wax on the edges to stop them from sticking and will hide the smallest pieces this year but very pleased for the price.

Tooner · 07/11/2019 13:48

Thanks for the new thread reastie. I haven't bought anything for about two weeks and I'm having withdrawal symptoms😄

@Theimpossiblegirl I couldn't resist meeting the dogs so I went back to click on the coffee cup link. Lovely dogs, worth a click😀

Sixp · 07/11/2019 13:56

As I have a few Chilly’s bottles to buy I’m going to get them from their website. 🙈 Would anyone be so kind as to share their uni days code with me... if that can easily be done?

ChoccyJules · 07/11/2019 14:01

Thanks for the slipper/sox ideas. Two of them got socks last year but I could ring the changes with sweets etc.

As a PP mentioned, I would love to just send a fiver but most of their richer than us parents would feel snubbed and much as I‘d like not to care...

NoSquirrels · 07/11/2019 14:02

That link didn't show me a coffee cup but I have just met the dogs of Amazon which was nice.

Ha! Grin Was a bit baffled until I went back to click ... how funny.

If you click the proper link that said “coffee cup” it should have shown you the right thing, bamboo cups for £3.70ish. I just forgot to delete all of the second link after I’d realised the URL was too long and annoying!

I think someone mentioned bargsinous £2 cups in B&M or Home Bargains recently too...

Mammyofonlyone · 07/11/2019 14:02

@Lc2006 @batbear what age would you say the kono was suitable for? My DD is six and has quite a scientific/mathematical mind so I think she might like it, but wanted to check if you think it could be too tricky?

SleeptightDaisy · 07/11/2019 14:04

@TheGirlWhoLived we got some fab 2 wheeled Globber scooters still going strong 2 years later and are used daily to school and back plus they are left outside all day at school. They were also a bargain from decathlon I think they were around £40/£50 each delivered.

mincepiesfordays · 07/11/2019 14:07

Photo box have 50% off everything with no minimum spend til the end of today. I've just used it for Photo Magnets for family and it's saved me a fair bit!

GraceQuirrell · 07/11/2019 14:08

Thanks everyone for the Origami suggestions have got hubby a nice set now :)

I've also got the 201 games in one handheld game console thingy from Studio that someone linked to in the other thread for my 5yr old grandson and it looks great.

Not sure if it was this thread but I have done the 24 books for Xmas thing using the 10 books for £10 deal via The Works and had them click & collect delivered to my local store for Free - just been to pick them up and was told anytime you order online for collection in store you get 10% off anything you buy in store when you collect your items (you need to have your order number with you). The 10% seems to come off everything in store so I got 2 of their 2 for £10 gift sets (usually £7 each item) and only paid £9 for them so I am very pleased :)

mincepiesfordays · 07/11/2019 14:08

Sorry should've said Photobox code is FLASH50!

livingthegoodlife · 07/11/2019 14:12

@BumpkinSpiceBatty I'll look out for that white stuff code, I usually get their brochures - sounds like a bargain (and I am guilty of just chucking brochures in the recycling!)

livingthegoodlife · 07/11/2019 14:12
