Thread 12 - hampergeddon

Couldn’t resist the title given the chatter about the hampers. Cross fingers they arrive and are fantastic or that refunds are fast and painless.

Does anyone know if the Nectar double up vouchers can be used on Nintendo switch games?

Barbarara · 09/11/2019 21:17

@EvilHerbivore are you sure he isn’t thinking of having pheasant to eat at Christmas? Roald Dahl makes it sound delicious in the book.

Notlongnow1 · 09/11/2019 21:23

Mummymilkfloat. It is reduced to £24 and in the 3for2 so £16 if you happen to need 2 other £24 items?

LostMyRubySlippers · 09/11/2019 21:31

mummymilkfloat I saw it in the entertainer this week with a small discount, can’t recall how much sorry but might be worth seeing if you could combine with one of their 20% birthday discount codes?
Or see if it is in mothercare closing down sale?

mamabluestar · 09/11/2019 21:42

@Lc2006 thank you!

@Annie1290 for free p&p at Cath Kidson use the code wonder gives

Purpletigers · 09/11/2019 21:43

Argos have Stretch Armstrong and a stretch Joker for £10 which is already a good price and then the 20% off code works too . So £8 each . These are strangely therapeutic. Also if you link your nectar card to Argos you can get 1000 points .

Tiggles · 09/11/2019 21:46

Not sure what age you want HP games for but ds got Hp scrabble when he was 10 and loves it. He is quite a 'wordy' kid though and loves writing stories. I got it when the price dropped on amazon to about £20

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 09/11/2019 21:46

can I ask about the Zavvi subscription boxes? I seem to remember people being quite underwhelmed by them last year?

It looks like if you subscribe you can get your first box for £10, does anyone know if you can easily cancel after that?

thanks!

@hellsjbells you need a machine that takes ESE pods and ground coffee. We have a swan retro one and use the lavazza ese “pods” on it and ground coffee. There are a number of machines that will take both. You won’t find one that takes a typical pod and ground coffee unless you want to use a refillable pod. We sold our kitchenaid nespresso machine in favour of the swan retro one because the coffee is so much nicer from it!

SkintSanta · 09/11/2019 21:52

@Helssjbells even. See above.

Nordicwannabe - thank you for thinking of me Smile

Muddlewitch · 09/11/2019 22:03

Good price on this Ankler mini Bluetooth speaker - £5.99 when you apply the £10 voucher (you need to get tick the apply voucher box.) We really rate Ankler products.

Muddlewitch · 09/11/2019 22:05

Anker not Ankler, odd autocorrect!!

I'm still after a Gruum code, I'm not quick enough each time they come up.

yellowsun · 09/11/2019 22:05

As someone has already mentioned, Harry Potter labyrinth is a great game. We really enjoy it- adults and 10yr old DS.

faeriesandelves · 09/11/2019 22:08

Think I read back somewhere CHLCC is a generic £10 off for Gruum

ravenshope · 09/11/2019 22:18

@Muddlewitch there's a group gruum code on p. 20 . that gives £10 off. Thanks very much to @xTinkerhellx for posting it.

Muddlewitch · 09/11/2019 22:19

Thanks so much @faeriesandelves that worked!

Muddlewitch · 09/11/2019 22:20

Yes thanks @ravenshope and @xTinkerhellx I must have missed that and it worked!

EvilHerbivore · 09/11/2019 22:20

@Barbarara oh I hadn't even thought of that! I thought he was being all sweet wanting a pet one but you're right, he might just want it for dinner!

Helssjbells · 09/11/2019 22:23

@SkintSanta ooooh thanks so much, thank looks great and would save me a fortune Flowers
to buy something for me Grin

LutherRalph1 · 09/11/2019 22:38

Had been keeping an eye out for the live action roaring simba and found it £15 cheaper on Amazon today

eitak22 · 09/11/2019 22:42

The entertainer currently has a number of lego and duplo sets that are 25% off so definitely worth a look.

Also WHSmiths has 3 books for 15 pounds or 7 each. Cookbooks, natural world and top gear to name a few. There was a top gear car book which may be good for the person who wanted things about super cars.

SkintSanta · 09/11/2019 22:45

@Helssjbells most welcome haha. Bonus is the pods are much cheaper. We actually get our lavazza ones from either amazon, eBay, or podsdirect. If you search ese pods there are a few pods websites. The blue lavazza ones are A-maxing! DH likes the silver as they’re stronger.

I think the savings most definitely equal a treat Gin

mummymilkfloat · 09/11/2019 22:45

Thanks I’ll have a look @Notlongnow1 I’m trying to resist buying anything else but hard to resist all these bargains!
I’ve just signed up to try and get a code @LostMyRubySlippers, we were in mothercare earlier but it wasn’t in store sadly.

Thanks so much for everyone’s help, these threads are so helpful and friendly!

Smileatthesmallthings · 09/11/2019 23:02

A few threads ago someone was lusting after a very expensive dinosaur lamp. I just spotted this one, not as classy looking but much cheaper, and a variety of styles.
