Thread 12 - hampergeddon

Couldn’t resist the title given the chatter about the hampers. Cross fingers they arrive and are fantastic or that refunds are fast and painless.

Mrs Claus, try to find out if he plays Warhammer 40,000, (the newer version) or Age of Sigma (the traditional version). Then, you can get very nice painting kits for around £20, with the right base colours. These often include some paintbrushes too. (Disclosure: DH paints and plays the Lizardmen army from Age of Sigma)

margaritasbythesea · 08/11/2019 13:55

Carrie76 - I can't tell you anything about the thing your daughter wants, but my dd wanted something similar at the same age. She still kind of wants it now and she's nearly 12. It just tickles her fancy. I regret not getting it at the time.

Barbarara · 08/11/2019 13:57

I was dithering on amazon the other night and a pop up offered me a months trial of prime (I’ve had it before and cancelled) and a while later (it was a lot of dithering) there was an offer of £6 credit for buying £50 of gift cards. I got distracted and only got back to my basket now and can’t find any mention now of either deal, though they appeared to be specific to my account. So I’m still dithering. Everything in my basket is a good price at the moment but in my mind now £11 more expensive than it could have been the other night and I can’t bring myself to buy it.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 08/11/2019 13:58

My little tree has turned up today! Hope others that are waiting don't have to wait too much longer either.

lolarabbit · 08/11/2019 14:01

Oooh your question got me on the search for baking subscriptions for my great neices @Qustionsquestionsquestions I came across this Yumbles - not sure if you think it looks too simple? Has anyone else ordered from them please? Seems to be lots of different food gifts/subscriptions and I think a £5 off voucher popped up for new subscibers. Thanks for the idea Smile

winewolfhowls · 08/11/2019 14:09

Twinings tea advent calendars have a third off with free delivery over fifteen pounds.

Toomanytears · 08/11/2019 14:10

Does anyone have a Fatface code please or know if they have an offer coming up? I've just about finished buying for dh and now he's announced he's found something he really wants for £75 Angry so any discount would be appreciated Smile

patm99 · 08/11/2019 14:13

If anyone has a Dobbies card they have 20% off in store.

Jammiebammie · 08/11/2019 14:16

Check your emails from Argos, I got sent a £5 off voucher when I spend £40, valid until the 19th Nov, not sure if it can be used on top of the toy sale though.

I’m twitching on an instax camera for dd3. With the 25% off at UO it would only be £52... argh, if it was blue then I’d maybe go for it sits on hands

Still haven’t checked out with cunt yet either as they haven’t got back to me about the best of goody bag. Presuming it’s sold out.
Thanks for the controversy pallet @RJnomore1 I missed out on the controversy and the pig mirror but not sure if dd would want the mini one or not. Gawd I’m indecisive.

Yeknom · 08/11/2019 14:17

Checked out with who @Jammiebammie?! Grin

PinkJam · 08/11/2019 14:21

@Toomanytears Usually if you register with FatFace for their newsletters they will send you a new customer discount code.

NotYourHolidayDick · 08/11/2019 14:28

I missed the LOL 😭😭

Justonedayatatime11 · 08/11/2019 14:30

AstrosFan my fudge arrived!!! Thank you so much for the recommendation, it looks amazing. As a side note, the original 'missing' order also turned up from Slab so I'll be eating a lot of fudge in the coming weeks Grin

Notlongnow1 · 08/11/2019 14:42

Best typo ever above 😱😂

Jammiebammie · 08/11/2019 14:49

Oh god, cuLt Blush although with the last fiasco it might be apt 🙈 My predictive text has given away my potty mouth. So, so sorry!

AstrosFan · 08/11/2019 14:53

@Justonedayatatime11 delighted for you! (And very jealous that you have a weekend of fudge eating ahead of you!) We’ve moved away from Scotland now so no longer have regular trips to Edinburgh to stock up. Having looked on the website when I was linking it to you, I am now sorely tempted to buy a loaf of fudge for the family at Christmas. Any feedback on the drinking fudge would also be appreciated once you’ve sampled it. (I think you said you bought some of it) It could be the perfect addition to my sister’s Christmas present.

woodpigeons · 08/11/2019 15:00

Glad to help lifelongfrugaleer. I’ve been a lurker here for ages but never seem to have anything to contribute.

banskuwansku · 08/11/2019 15:03

@Jammiebammie the voucher works with the code Toys20. But instead of £5 the value is £4.

Justonedayatatime11 · 08/11/2019 15:08

AstrosFan it's amazing. Nice mug with mini marshmallows and 2 x sachets of drinking fudge, which can be made hot or cold. Plus the actual fudge, the slices are huge! I don't know what I was expecting but certainly not as much as I got. Very very happy!

woodpigeons · 08/11/2019 15:44

shantotto the Faber Castell paintbox would be fine for your DS plus some good quality not too fine tip, washable markers. Crayola are good.
It’s ages since I bought for such a young child but we had paint from the works. A bit like poster paint, so doesn’t need mixing with water, but in very big bottles and some non spill pots to put it in. Probably from ELC.
Possibly an easel also. We had one, from Ikea I think, with one side for chalk and the other for markers.
When the weather is good, if it ever stops raining, they can even chalk outside on paths/patios.
It’s such a lovely age where they are so creative and it’s sad that they often lose that creativity when they get older and think they can’t do it ‘properly’.

Questionsquestionsquestions · 08/11/2019 16:22

Oooh, thank you RubySlippers77 - that's exactly the one I originally saw which gave me the idea, and I hadn't been able to find it since as I forgot the name!

Gustavo1 · 08/11/2019 16:22

@Justonedayatatime11
Which fudge did you get loads of? I’m 36 weeks pregnant and now you’ve said fudge, my mouth is literally watering! Bargain or not, I’d like to get myself some Grin

PinkDaydreams · 08/11/2019 16:27

Thread 13-still haven’t checked out with cunt yet Grin

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 08/11/2019 16:40

Talking to my Mum about wanting to reduce my carbon footprint and have started using shampoo, shower and exfoliating bars and she said she'd been looking at them but didn't know where to start! Yay, can offload some of the numerous Dr Botanicals on her and use my £10 Grumm voucher. She asked about hair conditioning bars too, haven't seen anything like that Halloween Grin
