Couldn’t resist the title given the chatter about the hampers. Cross fingers they arrive and are fantastic or that refunds are fast and painless.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@NewBabyJoy Not a Pikler but we’ve got The Bug from Toys by Nature and 2yo DD loves it still. I know Babipur make the Triclimb and Sawdust and Rainbows make the Wee’un however they’re both closed for orders now until after Christmas, as are Toys by Nature.

Red letter days have £15 off with DEAL15.

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 08/11/2019 08:39

@Themazeoflife not sure if it's too childish, but we got my DS an alarm clock from Smiggle last year which allows you to record your own wake-up message. It was plain black and cost about £15 I think. Sure I have seen them in there since then.

DangerousMouse · 08/11/2019 08:46

Not as cute as the penguins but another animal challenge for you - my DS is obsessed with scorpions, I've got him the schliech one for his stocking but would love to get him a jumper or something, anything scorpion related!

ClaraLane · 08/11/2019 08:51

@DangerousMouse What about this one? www.etsy.com/uk/listing/656988807/scorpion-lover-sweatshirt-gift-for-pet

DangerousMouse · 08/11/2019 08:52

Oh that's amazing! Thank you! I hate it when they do sizing like that though.. I'll have to measure up

BrightonBB · 08/11/2019 08:53

@Christmascookies - make sure you get a tree holder that takes a lot of water. You need to keep them topped up to reduce needle loss. Treat them like a cut flower.

CharlieWeasley · 08/11/2019 08:58

Anyone know whether sparks are likely to do another 20% off? I have a deal on my account to activate for 10% but need a few mens cashmere jumpers so would rather get 20%!

mummyof2boys30 · 08/11/2019 09:03

There was some good barbie deals in argos using code toys20

Justonedayatatime11 · 08/11/2019 09:12

gaggiagirl it actually gives me the option to add it to my EE contract for about £50 a month over 12 months... not sure if that's a good deal or not!

BonnesVacances · 08/11/2019 09:12

@MeanMrMustardSeed Thanks, I bought a couple of those books too. One for my BIL which might unfortunately come across as a bit PA as he does indeed think he knows it all. Grin

Shantotto · 08/11/2019 09:15

@woodpigeons hey sorry to jump in but you look like you really know your stuff! My DS is 4.5 and at nursery he’s always painting and mark making and likes to craft. I’m keen to get him to do some at home as it’s the only thing he’ll concentrate on for more than a minute. So do you have any advice on some good quality bits for a young child? Some of the stuff I’ve seen as you say just look like cheap junk that won’t work very well and will put him off. Thank you!

sideorderofchips · 08/11/2019 09:16

Thanks for the new thread. I’ll try and sit on this one!!

I8toys · 08/11/2019 09:17

MeanMr Mustard - thanks for the book - ordered 2!

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 08/11/2019 09:18

Sorry to go back over something which has already been done but which travel coffee cups would people recommend? Going to do DH a hamper with the coffee subscription and taster set and want to bulk it out a bit. Also any other ideas for stuff to put in it? Cup needs to be spill proof DH is accident prone

ArabellaPilkington · 08/11/2019 09:31

Weirdly I got an email from the hamper people saying they've sold out and I can no longer make changes to my order.

I didn't order. Got to the payment page and decided against.

So I've unsubscribed as I guess they picked up my email address anyway.

But on balance I think it prob looks legit.

Jedstre · 08/11/2019 09:31

@PaddingtonBearHardStare it’s contigo that are the no spill coffee mugs. Can buy in Asda, tesco, Amazon

Just been in Waitrose and if you have ‘my Waitrose’ card pick up your free food magazine. It’s paper wrapped and includes a calendar. I’m off to find a copy of ‘metro’ magazine now to get my £10 off£40 spend at Lidl.

Fuckingfuckssake · 08/11/2019 09:36

Good morning, another one that ordered a hamper and is hoping for the best.
It's been mentioned before but just a reminder that buysubscriptions.com are doing 6 issues of the Radio Times for £1, cheaper than buying just the Christmas edition in the shops, just remember to cancel as it will auto renew at full price, also, could anyone recommend a subscription for a lady in her late 80's please? Would Peoples Friend be a good bet?

AstrosFan · 08/11/2019 09:36

@PaddingtonBearHardStare We have way too many water bottles and travel mugs in this house (over 30 at the last count Blush) but DH would say that his 2 favourite travel mugs are his Swell one because it’s the most comfortable to hold and works equally well for cold water and hot coffee, and his Mighty Mug. If your DH is accident prone then I definitely recommend the Mighty Mug because they can’t be knocked over. DH uses it most often at work because there have been way too many near misses with people coming to his desk to discuss things and almost knocking his coffee all over his keyboard!

NeedMoreTea · 08/11/2019 09:37

I take a few days out to do decorating and I've missed a whole thread!

Now I really want to buy a sorting hat that DH says will be a 5 minute wonder. Must not buy sorting hat... must not buy sorting hat...

Vebrithien · 08/11/2019 09:41

My refund from the hampers came through yesterday, just over 24 hours after I got the confirmation of cancellation email. I would hope that this is good sign, and that there are lots of lovely hampers coming your way.

ArabellaPilkington · 08/11/2019 09:43

@ recklessgran - I would love a UO code if you have one please Flowers

Do you know how long are they valid for? I may not be able to buy until the weekend.

Shitfuckoh · 08/11/2019 09:45

Vebrithien · 08/11/2019 09:46
