I spent almost all of yesterday cleaning and sorting the house. The good news is that I've now caught up with the Grand Plan!

I was mostly either grovelling under furniture or up on a chair cleaning skirting, door frames, window frames, windows and picture frames! Anything that could be moved, was. I'm ashamed by the amount of dirt I cleaned off the doors / rads / all of the above! Xmas Blush

You don't realise how high Victorian ceilings are until you're (at 5' 11") only able to reach the ceiling with the Dyson cordless to get the cobwebs which DH was meant to remove during weekly cleaning, but didn't!

Sending you strong thoughts Mrs - I imagine you are just full of worry right now and the waiting about to see people for updates etc is the worst. Hope you can take some time to take care of yourself in amongst everything? Even if it's just a quick walk round the block for some fresh air (sorry if this comes across as patronising but having spent a lot of time in hospital with DSIS this helped me & DM)
Busy weekend and coming week here - feels like I'm burning the candle at both ends and in the middle! December will be like a holiday when it arrives next weekend!

I will aim to keep in touch but might be more active on the next thread given how quick this one is filling up!

WreckTangled · 25/11/2019 07:41

Congratulations hairspray!

Mrs so sorry your mum is still so unwell Thanks

I did loads of housework yesterday. Took me two hours to fold all the washing and I cooked a roast. Dd had a bad tummy I'm worried she might start her periods soon but she's only 9 so I really don't want her to!

I overslept this morning as I've got a new phone and forgot to put the alarm on it 🤦🏽‍♀️

NerosFiddle · 25/11/2019 08:21

Mrs Thanks you're are in my thoughts.

BiddyPop · 25/11/2019 10:21

Fluffy well done that sounds like a very productive weekend!!

Hairspray welcome back and congratulations on the wedding and the pregnancy.

MrsMad thinking about your DM and hoping that the hospital can keep her comfortable and get her legs sorted. I know it's worrying and hard to see (DGran had it).

I had a busy weekend - the rain came down all Friday night so we had to cancel the Cubs building shelters in the woods on Saturday, we had an indoor session instead (and they actually did stuff in between all their messing!!). Sunday morning I spent at the sailing club doing shore duty, and sorting out a lot of queries, but I got both afternoons at home (even if I did have to go back to the Scout Den for a 2 hour meeting last night - and the heating is not working so it was BALTIC!!). On my way home yesterday, I went to the storage unit and got out the boxes of things that I had bought and that I wanted to regift, and did an organising job at home. So I don't have everyone sorted, but a lot of people are, and I have 4 bags for the charity shop as well (all perfectly good items but not that we will ever use and not that we would give to others either). That's really the first proper Christmas thing I have done in weeks! DH got a rotten cold though, and has been so loving that he passed it on to me, so my throat is very raw and my head is stuffy, so I am aiming to just get through today (more rain!) and have a long sleep tonight.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2019 17:41

I'm very proud of my productivity, Biddy. Especially with catching up with the HGP!

You're very busy, as ever. When do you rest?! I hope you're better soon.

Mrs, I hope your mum is improving. Flowers

Oops, re the alarm, Wreck!

Chocolate, I hope you get some rest soon too. Flowers

Evening everyone Smile
Just come home from putting Mum to bed , she seems better tonight , l think she may have turned the corner, l don't want to tempt fate, her legs are still terrible but much improved on what they were , the consultant has been around and they are doing more bloods tomorrow. Her CRP is down on the 300 it was initially, the nurse wouldn't tell me what it was today Hmm . l understand she is busy and would have to drop everything to look in Mum's notes and really it wouldn't make a difference to Mum's treatment, just make me feel better . Then again it is going to take a lot more than that!
So we will just take it a day at a time .Thank you all so much for the kind words and support everyone it means such a lot to me Flowers
l hope everyone is fine l can't wait to get back to normality , l am so tired it isn't true we were going to put the tree up today and l just couldn't face it .
Take care everyone Flowers

This was ds when he was born. He was five weeks early! But they pumped him full of so many fluids etc he ballooned Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 26/11/2019 08:18

Morning!

29?!?!?! And yet some people think it's too early to talk about Christmas. I bet they plan their birthdays with more than 29 days to go! Xmas Grin

Happy birthday to your DS, Wreck. He's the same school year as DD.

Pay day today. I've just paid a load of cash into Parent Pay for school events leading up to Christmas!

Mrs, I hope you get some answers today.

Morning all
We are putting the Dec's up this weekend I have horrible morning sickness today I thought I was too early for it but work up this morning Xmas Envy
Happy birthday mini wreckCake
So sorry to hear about your mum MrsM Flowers
My mum has been really sick too, off work for about a month with chronic UTIs and in and out of hospital, then she caught a cold and was just diagnosed with pleurisy - she had to have a meeting yesterday and she thinks she will be sacked Sad the union are doing their best to help her, but it doesn't look good for her

CrazyBaubles · 26/11/2019 11:25

Lovely wedding pic Hairspray Sorry about the sickness.
What does your mum do? Being sacked for sickness is ridiculous, if you've been in hospital so clearly not taking the mick I don't think it should be allowed.

Fluffy I've walked into work today and it's like Christmas has exploded in the office. People have put up their own fairy lights, one department have their tree up and I've spotted a Christmas jumper Xmas Grin
I'm going to decorate my desk this week (it's saved for me in one office) because we're not putting decs up at home until 6th December

Wreck happy birthday to your ds 🥳. How heavy was he when he was born? Crazy how they go from being so small isn't it? (I can't look at the early pics of dnephew without getting teary because he was so little).

Biddy try and rest if you're ill, you don't want it all catching up with you over Christmas!

I am in work but firmly on the zombie bench today 😴 Up again with the dogs at 4:30am and couldn't get back to sleep so I feel like I've almost done a full day already.

HairsprayBabe · 26/11/2019 11:58

She is a primary school teacher. They put her on an absence management plan literally the first day she had a sick day and they are just "following the process"

Her and my dad are both excited about the baby though, first grandchild for them! We have told my parents and DHs plus my best friend and DHs - oh and my boss knows too!

WreckTangled · 26/11/2019 12:18

Hairspray that's awful!

Crazy he was 7lb 13 GrinGrin only because I'm diabetic though

HairsprayBabe · 26/11/2019 12:36

She is really stressed about it they are implying that she is faking it all basically but she very nearly missed my wedding because she was still in hospital... That was a bloody drama and half

Evening everyone Smile
Just come from Seeing Mum, she's alright in herself. l have spoken to the Dr's and the Nurse looking after her this afternoon, they are giving her the last dose of I.V antibiotics tonight and then putting her on oral Antibiotics for a week after . Her infection level has gone down to less than 100 and they are hoping this is going to continue, despite this l am still worried because her legs still look so awful , they are better but they are still bad. They may be going to discharge her Thursday depending upon how her legs are . I am not against her being discharged but l am worried it is too soon. All l can do is be vigilant and if she shows any signs of deterioration then she will be back in thee like a rat up a drainpipe Smile
Thank you all so much l am so grateful for your kindness and encouragement. I just want to get back to normal that's all l ask Smile

Sorry I have been AWOL all. Had an awful time as DH didn't see youngest DCat in the dark and sadly hit her with the car and she passed away. We are all starting to pick ourselves back up and I'm trying to get my Christmas groove back on. I watched a Christmas film last night and actually laughed a few times so that is good :) Going to decorate this weekend and hopefully that will help too.

So sorry to hear that your mum is in hospital Mrs, I hope she recovers quickly Flowers

Congratulations hairspray!!!

How is everyone else doing? Really not long now, this year has just flown by.

Mrsmadevans · 26/11/2019 18:17

LOL @ Fanny l know you are right re the tree and re Mum's care . l will ask if she can have the D/NS calling to keep a check on her. that is a great idea thank you my dear Smile. Thankfully Mum is really switched on mentally so if she feels poorly she can alert me straight away and l can see the damn legs on the Nanny Cam! Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 26/11/2019 18:21

Em that is awful l am so sorry and your poor DH he must be devastated , Flowers , these things happen they cats are just so hopeless on the road . I hope you are all ok and don't let this ruin your Christmas. Try to concentrate your thoughts on the great life you gave to the little one when they lived with you Flowers
