Welcome to all new posters and thank you for the new thread Fluffy

Good news Wreck and fingers crossed for the job 🤞🏼

Dave our annual 'something breaks and costs a fortune* usually comes in January after we've spent all the Christmas budget 🙄

Sending you nothing but good thoughts (and some distractions) chocolate

wheels That is why I'm too paranoid to have an Amazon Echo!
I'm looking forward to your decoration pics. If I remember rightly you have a lovely collection of vintage ceramic light up Christmas trees that I'm envious of as I still can't find one at a reasonable price

MrsMad I wish DH would let me have Christmas bedding but he's basically begged to have 1 Christmas free room in the house and the bedroom is it.

I have been to the GP today as I'm feeling worse and worse - no voice at all, right wheezy chest, cough, temp etc. Laryngitis and bronchitis apparently 😷 I need a nap! If I manage one I may attempt some more crochet this evening, I'm making a set of 6 for my friend.

wheelie everything is fixed now thankfully!. I’ve invested in some heated blankets just to be prepared if the boiler breaks. Did you struggle last year when the weather was bad in the US?

mrs 😂. I’m the exact same! I’ll end up with about 10 new Christmas mugs by November. I love Christmas tea towels too, it’s like a grotto in my house😂.

Just as I predicted, the heavens opened as I picked the twins up. We got soaked. I’m planning some Christmas activities, any ideas what’s good for 2 year old boys?.

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 15:30

Aw Crazy bless you sweetie Flowers l hope you feel so much better soon . As for DH there are sly christmas duvet covers covers that can be whistling slyly nothing to do with Christmas 'oh no they are not' Crazy DH!
Wheelie that is an amazing sky! Smile

'lovely collection of vintage ceramic light up Christmas trees'
YES!

WheelchairWoes · 07/10/2019 15:39

I forgot I downloaded this app! I don't like to use it much but I can chat out and about

Mrs My daddy is fantastic! He makes up for my mom being such a miser lol. It's crazy to me how the insurance companies and the wheelchair companies act here. Oh you can only get a chair one every 5 years but hey we stopped making parts for your chair three years in. My chair is kind of frankensteined together right now! Parts from random chairs stuck on it lol

crazy this is only the second time ever in 4-5 years of having our echo that she's done this. We fell asleep with the tv on and her name for commands is 'computer' so I think the tv said computer and triggered her lol.

I do have the ceramic trees! As soon as Halloween is over I'll probably star clearing off the bar so I can get them all set up in a lovely scene.

I'm so so sorry you are so sick! There is so much crud going around!

fanny Thank you! The clouds were so strange with these lines in them. Looked like a painting.

dave We didn't have that hard of a time last winter. We invested in an electric fireplace so that helped us keep the house a bit warmer. This year we have a generator now (do you guys have emergency generators over there?) So if we lose power completely we'll use the generator to power our fridge, fireplace, and assorted medical equipments we can't do without (My kid is on a cpap and my feeding pump needs plugged in daily) oh and the heating tape which runs under the house along the water pipes so they don't freeze.

Mrs That's lovely. I really like this one
www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2735648_c504/snowflake-print-duvet-cover-lilac

I need to see if they have anything similar in the US

I hope I can find the yellow color in my head in real life. I want a lovely fresh pale yellow. Time to dig through all the paint samples.

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 15:39

Dave have you seen these you can get them cheaper in Asda etc

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 15:41

That is gorgeous Wheelie l hadn't seen it before . It must be new Smile

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 15:43

One of my neighbours has a generator but it's not something people usually have. The hospitals and GP surgeries have them. Our power lines are overhead but we haven't had a long power cut for about five years. We used to get them all the time.

Crazy hope you feel better soon!

The rain has arrived and I have to get dd from school in a bit then take the dc to swimming lessons after dinner. Luckily dh is joining us, so much easier when there's two of us!

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 15:43

Crazy it’s always the way isn’t it! Thanks for the chocolateGrin. Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well, try and get a lot of rest!

Mrs oh I’ll give that Santa a go! He’s lovely. The all in ones look good too I will have a look for some.

wheelie it sounds like you’re very prepared!. I’d love a really cold winter.

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 15:44

I know Wheelie your Daddy is brilliant. l remember how much he helps you with the house and your vehicles bless his beautiful heart . Yah boo sucks to your miserly Mum Xmas Grin l am sure she is lovely but Mummy Scrooge just isn't what you want spesh at Christmas Xmas Grin

Wreck have a great time swimming with the DC & DH . I agree it's so much easier taking them with the Dh . Your neighbour sounds a very good neighbour to have Grin
DIB DIB DIB prepared for everything! Grin

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 15:52

We're not swimming just the dc Grin they have s private lesson fortnightly. Works out the same cost as weekly group lessons but they actually get way more swimming in as it's only them in the lesson not ten other kids Grin

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 15:56

flouncy oh that’s a great idea!. Cheap presents for everyone too!.

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 16:15

floucy ooh another good idea!!. I really love crafting with them and I don’t really like giving into consumerism (we don’t even have a TVGrin), so I’m excited for Christmas crafts.

Mrs oh they’d love them!. I’ll order some now. They love dinosaurs

WheelchairWoes · 07/10/2019 17:58

wreck Yeah we have powerlines above ground (some places in the USA have started burying them) But we have such crazy weather including tornadoes and huge ice storms that we have to prepare for big outages.

Hope the kids have fun swimming!

fanny Those oil filled radiators are great for bathrooms! That's where ours is because our bathroom always seems so cold!

So guys! We just came from the store and look! We saw a tree that looks like a snowman AND I bought a little ceramic tree ornament! This year's is PINK!

We did get paint too! We're going with Glory Yellow for the hallway! We bought two gallons and I took before photos of the hallway.

Thank you everyone!
Have got to the Hospital and DSIS is v ill but she's in the right place. I've been telling her my Christmas plans - and as she's in a coma she can't tell me to shut up like she usually does (she is a "do it all in the last week" type of Christmas Scrooge)

MrsEvans love the woodland duvet sets - there is a 15% off Matalan code on the bargains thread so I may have to do some ordering - DH is going to love all these parcels arriving at home!

I haven't thought about advent calendars for the boys yet - we've done Lego ones (and we have a mountain of Lego) so maybe just nice chocolate ones - is there anything that tops a Lindt one?
