Oh look at you lucky lot with your gorgeous sun rises and sunsets. It’s tipped it down since 1 and will be going on all night.

chocolate we just get the Cadbury ones, it reminds me of my childhood. Tiny rubbish chocolates mixed in with the aftertaste of toothpasteGrin

wheelie that tree is gorgeous!

I’ve just got the boys to bed, it’s been so much easier since I moved house as they have their own rooms too so they don’t keep waking each other up. They’re on different floors as well so no chance of meeting up on the landing like they used toGrin

Chocolate We've never done advent calendars like you guys do. We have a reusable one but this year I'm considering buying an actual one like you guys have.

Fanny Oh that's a gorgeous sunset! Yes the little tree lights up. It runs on a little watch battery kind of battery. I got a white one last year that had a little 2018 tag and this year I picked up the pink one. It had a year tag too. I'm very glad I found it because my DSIL works there and says they are selling very very fast.

DaveGhost Thank you! I'll share it all lit up this evening! Sleep tight to your boys!

My Joe is taping off the hallway getting it ready for paint. I am stuck under a kitty cat. Gabriel the ginger boy wants some mommy lap snuggles.

Waiting for the post to come as I ordered something last week and it's due today

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 19:37

I want to get dd the Harry Potter stationery advent calendar from primark but our nearest is an hour away and it's pretty small so not sure they'll have it.

Ds doesn't like chocolate so I'll have to see if I can find him something else or actually maybe a white chocolate one.

Wheelie are they not a bit thing in the US or is it just you guys as a family don't really do them?

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/10/2019 19:41

Give me a shout if you can't find it Wreck. There's a new Primark opened about 20 minutes from here and it's pretty big. I might be going on Wednesday or Friday so can have a look for one for you.

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 19:52

Thanks woolly that's really kind Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 07/10/2019 19:59

Or I can look in L1 tomorrow, Wreck? I go past every lunch time while I'm roaming round (though they put the Christmas stuff on the top floor and it's positively soul-destroying getting up and down as they make you walk through every floor!).

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 20:05

Grin thanks guys. I'm not sure they have all their Christmas stuff out yet? But if you happen to go in and see one I would be very grateful.

WheelchairWoes · 07/10/2019 20:06

wreck They are just now becoming a thing here in the USA. Before like about 2 to 3 years ago everyone wanted reusable ones. Then the fad hit about the disposable ones. The problem is now that because they are still a relatively new thing they aren't available everywhere and they sell out really really quick. I'll probably pick some up from amazon this year.

I just saw a wine, beer and cheese advent hitting aldi in November haha. I think I'll buy one for my daddy.

I kind of want to get my kids one that's little toy figures and one that's sweets.

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 20:16

Fanny Golightly . l shoved it where the sun don' shine Xmas Grin lovely sunset picture m'dear Smile
Wheelie. l love your pink ceramic tree , gorgeous paint too Smile, we don't seem to have them here or at least l haven't seen them recently . Well done to your Joe that's the type of man to have , get the paint and do the job asap. Good man!
Hope you get the HP ADVENT Wreck Smile .
Chocolate , l love that duvet cover it's gorgeous , glad you are with your Sis, tell her about your new duvet cover Smile

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 20:23

Wheelie you have Aldi in the USA? They are massive here , opening 1 a week for the next 2 years according to the papers. What do you think of them m'dear? Advent calendars are huge here , ours have a Lindt one and a Vegan chocolate one . They used to have more than 1 each by the time the Nannies bought them 1 as well Smile but they only have one each now Smile. Looks like DD2 will be moving out before long so this will be our last Christmas together Sad. She will still come to visit Christmas day but she prob won't stay overnight now.
Hey ho it's the circle of life.

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 20:24

Chocolate have you seen the Cadbury's hero's advent calendars? They have a chocolate Father Christmas in them too. (Obviously not nice chocolate but something different for the dc)

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 20:27

flouncy it looks like non-stop rain for most of us!. I’ve never heard of that version!

wheelie do you mind if I borrow your Joe?Grin we’ve just moved in and I could do with someone to help me finish off painting the kitchen😂.

The wind is crazy here. I live by the sea so it usually is bad, but it’s worse than usual and is meant to be worse tomorrow. The winter’s settling in!.

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 20:29

Just looked on the met office and it’s storms from Tuesday all the way to Thursday and Friday. Thunder and lighting late tomorrow night, so the boys won’t sleep after that!. Angry

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/10/2019 20:30

MrsMad you've made me sad. DD1 has also said that she will probably be looking for her own place at the end of this academic year - although she also said that she plans to come home for Christmas ad infinitum Grin. We'll see.

WheelchairWoes · 07/10/2019 20:35

Mrs we DO have Aldi! It's really really great for older people and disabled people and people low income because their foods are the least expensive of all the shops! It makes them a huge huge hit around my area because we have a lot of poorer neighborhoods.

I hope they open one even closer to my house. It would make my year.
Like we went to Walmart today and a carton of milk there costs about $5 (about £4) but at Aldi last week? Milk cost $1.50 (£1.44)!

I have bookmarked a few different calendars to maybe buy now lol.
I'm sorry about this being your last Christmas with your DD2. I know they have to grow up but it's so hard. Make lots of memories and keep them close to your heart!

daveghost LOL he's a really good husband! He'll be pulling up the bathroom tiles next month and redoing those next! He likes to do busy projects. He says he wants to buy a rundown house in the country and fix it up.

I would love to live by the sea! I love wind though too so I'd be happy as a clam.

woolly awww good luck with your dd too! I realized today that in a few short years my girls will be off on their own and it made me weepy

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 20:41

Woolly Flowers hugs galore m'dear Sad
Mine told me she will always come home too but ..... never mind we raise them to go out into the world and it's a passage of life we all go through. The positive thing about it is, we have done a good job bringing them up Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 07/10/2019 20:43

Oh, children leaving home makes me feel very sad. And I've got YEARS to go yet!

Dave, which coast are you on? I'm on the NW coast. Always windy here (great for drying washing!).

Wheelie, that's great re Aldi. I'm always in our local one after never going before it opened!

Chocolate, I hope your sister improves quickly. Flowers

I think I need a Heroes advent calendar. 🎅🏻🤔🎅🏻🤔🎄🤔🎄

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 20:48

Wheelie that is so expensive for milk! I am shocked . I always thought it was really inexpensive to live in the USA. Milk here is cheap compared to that . We pay £ 1.15 for 4 pints . I do have mine from the milkman , which is expensive about 60p a pint but l like to keep them going and recycle the glass bottles because of the awful plastic Smile

Mrsmadevans · 07/10/2019 20:49

Fluffy think l need a hero full stop Grin

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 20:53

wheelie he sounds great and it sounds like a lovely dream to have the house in the country!

I’m in the SE Fluffy

Don’t get me started on moving out!. I struggled to move out myself, I’ll be a mess when the boys do. I only moved a street away from my parents and I visit them most days😂

WreckTangled · 07/10/2019 20:54

Dave I'm south east too but more south than east Grin

DaveTheGhost · 07/10/2019 21:02

I love it here wreck!

NerosFiddle · 07/10/2019 21:05

Wow this thread has really kicked up a notch. I've missed so much and I've only been gone a day Xmas Grin

I'm glad I didn't put the clothes out today, it's ended up being torrential. Aw well gives me an excuse to stay in.
