Found you all again.

First roast of the autumn here today - once I've been to Tesco for the ingredients Grin I'll need to drag myself out of bed first.

My three all have head measurements that were at the top end of the range. I remember having to go up a couple of sizes in order to get sun hats to fit them - it was easier in the winter when I could just knit them a woolly hat.

Pringles stockings are the best bit! Now mine are older they are the place where all the little bits are put rather than a means of distracting them when they first get up.

This year they will all contain
Undies
Socks
Magazine
Chocolate
Pencils with quotes on from their favourite shows.

I have 2 adult DDs and a preteen DS so the DDs have pretty bra and knicker sets and DS has some boxers.

The DDs will also have makeup, a tissue mask, coffee syrups, a pocket mirror and some nail files.

DS will also have a PS4 points card, personalised Nutella (label from eBay, jar from Tesco) a card game and a skin for his PS4 controller. I will also probably get him some hair wax/gel and last year he had a bath bomb shaped like a game controller that he loved so I may get that too (Etsy).

DS was 50th centile but was back to back and got stuck. Over three hours of pushing Sad

I would normally do a roast but we are having a harvest lunch at church so probably just a light dinner.

Very productive Sunday morning here. I weirdly love building train tracks Grin

DS was my sideways, transverse lie, baby. He wasn't coming out either! 🙈😂

Fanny we watch Derek religiously in Weatherman walking and recently we have been enthralled by Iolo Williams programme lately called Street life , it is absolutely lovely . Repeated this afternoon on BBC Wales
www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0008mv4

It is beautiful weather here you would not believe it , have managed to dry a lineful Smile , for some reason l am really pleased when l dry a line of washing Grin
I know Fluffy she was 17 days overdue poor thing. Apparently they gain an ounce every day over term so she would have been ten pounds bless her. I wasn't suffering from GD either , just very well Grin . My first DD was 9lbs AT term too so l always thought my second would be heavier but it was a bit of a shock to say the least lol.
Woolly l must say that is a brilliant stocking list , l must confess l don't do them anymore Hmm . DH & l don't give each other anything for Christmas or birthday and l have stopped doing stockings for the DDS now . I have become jaded perhaps.
Em harvest lunch sounds perfect Smile
Transverse Fluffy , not very nice , nor back to back Em , what we Mother's have to go through . We'd do it all again, though l would ask for more pain relief Grin

Mrsmadevans · 06/10/2019 14:24

Look how lovely it is out 🤗

I think I've found my people. I live Christmas. I work in the cultural sector and we have to start thinking about our Christmas program in the summer. So it always feels like Christmas is closer than it is! I also like to have December free to do all of the fun festive stuff rather than running around doing Christmas shopping. [santa]

DaveTheGhost · 06/10/2019 15:02

OMG I didn’t even know there was a Christmas section, let alone a countdown thread, MN seems to be so Anti-Christmas before advent! I’ve found my people!. Xmas Grin

WheelchairWoes · 06/10/2019 15:12

fanny I'm so sorry for the horrible period. I know how that is. I'm in perimenopause and ugh it's been miserable

Mrs I'm glad your mom has such a good neighbor who tries to make her life happier.

wreck It's raining here and cold but hopefully this means we don't have to turn on the ac and can save some electric! The bill has been so so high.

We usually throw a new toothbrush in stockings too as they usually get a lot of sweets lol

pringles ugh I wish I had advice. I'm struggling for my teens this year but I'm lucky they are emotionally still kind of young so stuffed toys and blind boxes are something they are still into.

fluffy That is a fantastic parsnip! I love it!

Woolly YAY for the first Autumn roast! Now that the temp has dropped we can start baking and not melting so I'm going to do some pumpkin bread tomorrow.

emrys That's a fantastic track!

Mrs Gorgeous photos!

My kiddos were small! So I didn't really have any issues. My biggest was DD1 who was 6lbs 3oz lol No giant heads either

Our stocking list is something like this:

Gift Card to assorted things the kids like
Some chocolates
little blind bag boxes
gloves and new mittens
tooth brush
assorted trinkets (usually little puzzles or little games or things)
chocolate orange

I kind of want to get my kids a Nintendo Switch this year. Me and DH have been discussing it since like March lol

For Chanukah they get a lot of books. Also I think we'll do clothing this year too. The girls really like those sweater dresses.

Welcome BuildBuildings and Dave the Ghost!

Sorry my reply is so long! I try to play catch up. If I missed you I'm sorry!

DaveTheGhost · 06/10/2019 15:27

Thanks for the welcome wheelchair my babies were small too! DS1 weighed 4lbs12oz and DS2 4lbs1oz. Itty bitty things.

Mrsmadevans · 06/10/2019 17:18

Wheelie you want to do a longy you carry on m'dear. Grin
It really has been a beautiful day here , so lucky Smile

I've been very lax in my christmas prep this year and after a decade of being a sahm (with all kids in school the last couple of years) i start a full time job on 16th and actually have no idea how i will fit it all in! Xmas Shock i suppose since DH has days off in the week he'll have to get used to some errands on his rest days. Currently he gets annoyed if he spends his days off doing "boring" stuff but he wont have a choice now Xmas Grin

I do at least know exactly what i am getting everyone so that makes it easier.

Trying to reduce the cost of stocking fillers this year after last years eye watering spend so always watching stocking threads with interest. My brood are DD10, DS8 and DD7.

Mrsmadevans · 06/10/2019 17:43

Fanny, l didn't l must confess. l got as far as registering on S4C but that was it Hmm thank you for the reminder , Craith looks just up my street too Grin
Arrow , something tells me your DH is going to get a bit of a rude awakening Grin

DaveTheGhost · 06/10/2019 17:47

arrow I’d be inclined to give him really boring jobs even if they don’t need to be done. Just to wind him up😂

WheelchairWoes · 06/10/2019 17:50

Mrs how are the temps there? Is Autumn in full swing?

daveghost my youngest was 5lbs 12 oz lol so I had little peanuts too

fanny I'm glad things are calming down!

I think it sounds like a great idea to surprise your husband! I've gotten mine two geeky shirts. He likes weird stuff like that so I got him a cookie monster shirt and a video game shirt lol.

arrow yours are still young enough they should be easier to shop for! Enjoy those days! I miss them lol

I got so many vintage ornaments at the end of last year that my vintage tree is going to be so full this year!! I think it's going to be pretty! I'm still trying to rearrange my room already for trees lol

DaveTheGhost · 06/10/2019 17:53

wheelchair they’re still dinky now and they’re 2!. Be sure to send pictures of the tree, it sounds lovely.

WheelchairWoes · 06/10/2019 18:38

daveghost Awww yeah my younger is now 13 and still kind of small for her age!

I will definitely share pics. I think I might have to relocate my medical supplies for the sake of the tree this year lol

Mrsmadevans · 06/10/2019 18:41

Autumn is in the swing l reckon, not quite as cold as it is going to get but the trees are changing colour and the countryside is starting to look very colourful , it's lovely Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/10/2019 18:46

DD and I went to Bluewater today ( L'eau Bleu as she calls it Xmas Grin )

M&S had some festive bedding, brushed cotton very nice . I stocked us up last year with new bedding (except DS who still has his old stuff and wants to keep that )
John Lewis had some gorgeous plates and tableware , I need to go in on a quieter day to browse and decide what I want .I think one plate or serving dish to add to my collection with do the job.

DaveTheGhost · 06/10/2019 18:53

wheelchair the boys are tall but skinny as anything.

It’s so cold I think, I think we’re in for a cold winter this year. At least I hope so.

70 is there much kids Christmas bedding? I’m struggling to find nice stuff. It all seems quite tacky

WheelchairWoes · 06/10/2019 19:12

Mrs I cannot wait for ours to all change! It's 17 today and dreary but it's a nice nice change from all the heat so I appreciate it lol we've had such a dry summer that our plants are crying for rain

70 I really want to get Christmas bedding at some point! I have a new duvet I bought this year so for Christmas this year I want to buy a lovely cover and some pillow covers!

daveghost yeah I think we are in for a cold cold snowy year. This year has been so strange. We didn't really have a spring! It snowed on March 30th! We went from winter to heat. IT's been so bizarre

MarshmallowManiac · 06/10/2019 20:29

Wheelie used to live near where the Boyne flows but unfortunately not anymore!
70 went to two unis this weekend with my DD, really knackered atm but she loved both so that was good.

MarshmallowManiac · 06/10/2019 20:31

Yes Wreck I have teenagers and you cannot get them up for love nor money Grin

DaveTheGhost · 06/10/2019 20:58

wheelchair Where abouts are you from? I love spring, I’d hate it to always be snowing!

mrs I can’t wait until the boys are teenagers. 5.30 AM wake up calls everyday!. It’s driving me insane.
