fanny I was in Criccieth for the weekend. I had a fantastic time on Saturday watching the stormy sea from the comfort of the sitting room with my crochet and then Sunday was spent in Portmerion.

Morning all.

Fluffy you are a bad influence on me. I *have to buy that magazine now.

DS's birthday is next week (Halloween) but I can't stand yet for any length of time so will have to buy him a cake from the bakery. I've bought Thomas and friends cake toppers for it.

WreckTangled · 23/10/2019 13:55

I've lost my voice. Will probably go home a bit early. Had my flu jab too and got a sticker Grin

Sounds idyllic, Woolly! Might get tiring living there though. 🥶🥶🥶

Neros, I don't think it's in the shop yet as I get it in the post. Maybe in a day or so.

I keep haunting M&S, waiting for their own brand Irish cream to be reduced. I won't buy it full price, but half price is well worth it!

Noword Crazy - loving your Cross stitch's! I have inherited a half done one from an aunt which I need to finish at some point --no rush - it's been 15 years since she died

Nabel - firm believer in preloved clothes even though I could prob afford to buy new, the waste really gets to me when I find things hardly worn but already grown out of

I've been spraying "Winter" room spray about today and planning a few christmas makes - think I'll try zipped bags

Hoping the bargains thread comes up with a White Company offer so i can get a Winter room diffuser

Chocolateteabag · 23/10/2019 19:36

This is the material for the bags - need to find some cotton lining is a suitably clashing colour

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2019 22:30

That's lovely material.

Started my new cross stitch tonight. It may take a while!

We also got a box of free mince pies from Sainsbury’s so ate a couple each too. 🐷🐷

I feel really rubbish and have been up half the night. Tempted to call in sick as I've already done all my work for before half term but then I would break my six years of no sick days Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2019 05:41

Morning!

If you're sick, call in. It's not about the personal best for not being sick, it's about getting better. So call in! That's what sick leave is for.

It seems chilly in the bathroom. Must be cold out! I think today is the last dry day, until Sunday. Booo!

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2019 06:42

Is Wilko pick'n'mix reduced does anyone know? Half term is this week and next week around here, depending on whether you're Liverpool / Lancs or Sefton.

You're right fluffy. I've put my jeans in so I can't change my mind now Grin

Chocolateteabag · 24/10/2019 07:06

Wreck - hope you mean "in" as in the wash and you are taking the sick day (stern face) no point making yourself worse by struggling in!

Im on the early train to work (I usually wfh) and it's still dark outside. Is it this weekend the clocks go back?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2019 07:14

I think she means on, possibly, Chocolate!

And I'm glad you took my advice, Wreck. Xmas Grin

And yes, clocks back this weekend. Which means keeping the kids up til 8 so they don't get up at the crack of dawn the next day! But much later than 8 and they'll be going mental from tiredness!

WreckTangled · 24/10/2019 07:15

I meant on not in Blush annoyingly my manager is off so I have to call the manager of another team to report my sickness.

CrazyBaubles · 24/10/2019 08:27

Morning. I've just caught up on the thread - it's been busy the last few days!

MrsMad I drive a mini. Would love a proper classic one day.
Have you pushed DH to book a gp app yet?

flouncy thank you for the offer. I have some dark grey thread in this kit (it has 4 patterns in it) so I'll try that. I'd never have thought of using grey to outline him!

I absolutely love your cross stitches Fluffy

Lovely material chocolate - I take it you are a fellow crafter?

Wreck you're doing the right with to call in sick.
I had a perfect attendance record for 5 years but realised this year that I'm not doing myself any favours by not letting myself rest, it's made little illnesses so much worse.

I'm having a slow relaxed morning. I have a dr app at 9:45 to discuss a plan for my migraines as they're out of control at the moment and my medications aren't helping. Because I work a 45 min commute usually, it wasn't worth going to work for just under an hour just to leave again so I've taken some flexi time.
It means I've had a lie in and had breakfast. Now going to shower and put some washing on radiators before leaving and try not to wake the dogs who are snoring worse than DH Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 24/10/2019 16:07

Afternoon everyone Smile
Hope you are feeling better Wreck Flowersyour interview tomorrow isn't it? So rest your voice so you can talk yourself into a job tomorrow Grin Good luck!
Have not been on MN since Tuesday Evening. The cold went on my chest and l spent yesterday in bed. l am not usually like this but l coughed all Tuesday night and was knackered , my ribs were killing me, l had the flu jab 2 weeks ago and l think it may be that Grin
l know it isn't the cause just a coincidence but it is just what my DH and my parents always say Hmm. Am better today but DH has it and OMG do l know about it Grin, needless to say he hasn't been to the GP yet but when l am back to full fitness l will get him there pronto.
Crazy your Mini sounds lovely , old ones are the best! The grey thread sounds lovely , not too harsh for Rob , you have done so well with him! Smile Your day sounds divine apart from the Dr's appt Xmas Grin

Hope everyone is better soon including moi Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 24/10/2019 16:10

I slept for 3.5 hours today but I still feel awful. My voice is back although croaky but I'm just a big snotty mess. I really won't be on form tomorrow Sad

Mrsmadevans · 24/10/2019 16:12

Ahh never mind Wreck they will be impressed you turned up for it , rest up again today if you can Flowers

l have a confession to make. l am sewing a cushion kit, half done by my MIL bless her heart, l inherited it when she passed away . l only do it at knit n nat once a month though and l am useless but l will finish it before l die Grin
You are right! DH is dying here , clutching his chest as he coughs, (not remotely Afib related thankfully) his 'throat feels as if he has knives down there' Xmas Grin l am very good though l refrain from raising my eyes to the roof and guffawing Grin

I hope you feel better soon Mrs (and your DH so he stops being annoying!).

Wreck, what are you doing tomorrow? If you're still ill, stay off.

Crazy, I hope the GP was helpful.

I'm not keen on Mondeos Jags! Though some of the vintage ones are nice enough!

I'm not sure what my favourite car is. I'll have to think.

Flouncy, I detest doing outline!
