Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@wibbletooth I've got one of these for DD (a big 9). I'm really impressed with the quality for the price! It wraps around with a press stud at the front so I don't have to wrestle to get it over her head either! Not sure which design would suit an 11yo boy though...

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 18:53

Oh, I can get it near work. So, do I get it?!?!

DarkHumour · 28/09/2019 18:55

@imsorryiasked Thanks...like a lot of posters on this thread, I can now look forward to some lovely tea after my vegan soap cleanseWink

The4ks · 28/09/2019 18:56

Whitecandle- saw a scuttle bug in our home bargains today actually!
Yellow and black one, sure it was £14.99.

Sux2buthen · 28/09/2019 18:57

@NoWordForFluffy yes you do. Same thing happened here today lol. My partner tries to avoid involvement in the bargain hunting (I shoo him away) but he saw the Lego friends and ordered it himself because it's such a good price.

recklessgran · 28/09/2019 19:00

Ah thank you @chocolate teabag and @bellablahhole - I'm so glad the Buckley London tip helped you - I was pointed there last year by this thread and was thrilled with everything I got. With 5 adult DD's I saved a small fortune on their stockings and it's the same this year thanks to this bargain thread. SO grateful and it's such a lovely warm corner of mumsnet. Really feeling the love over here!

Whitecandle · 28/09/2019 19:03

@The4ks thank you!

SophieTurnersEyebrows · 28/09/2019 19:04

Thanks @CatelynStark - just ordered some cute jutes for MIL and DH Auntie.

Local Smyths was heaving today but did get DN a suitable toy which was free because of the discounts. Allowed each DC to choose something under the guise of getting ideas for Xmas!

Am after nice wellies for DC if anyone has seen any discounts.

Ftumch · 28/09/2019 19:05

@bettyskitchen I'm not sure tbh, I haven't used the code and I have deleted the email now.

MyIncapableOne · 28/09/2019 19:13

Sorry, link fail!

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 19:14

@Sux2buthen, ordered it! Xmas Grin

@SophieTurnersEyebrows, google Joules eBay. There's lovely ones on there.

SophieTurnersEyebrows · 28/09/2019 19:17

@recklessgran how do you get the 10% off the first order at Buckley London? I saw a pop up which I clicked out of and can't get it to come back, and no automatic discount has come up. Is there a code? Thanks!

NotPennysBoat · 28/09/2019 19:23

Any Matalan codes about please?

Stolenidentity · 28/09/2019 19:23

These personalised bags look cute for price. link

PurpleSock · 28/09/2019 19:27

Would anyone mind generating me a uni days code for ASOS please? A whole year and 2 months after I graduated my account no longer works...

MrsLem · 28/09/2019 19:28

Loving all these suggestions!

Can anyone help....was there a suggestion in a previous thread about a personalised jewellery site? I'm regretting not getting a necklace now Confused

Anyone looking for nice knickers...sign up to kinky knickers/Ella and Me email. Every Tuesday they do a 2 for £10 offer on different styles. Their Black Friday sale last year was great too. They're the company Mary Portas had a tv series about a few years ago. Local business and have options for 100% cotton too if you're looking for that

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 28/09/2019 19:37

Toys for a pound have got lots of hot wheels and marvel stuff in. I've stocked up so that's DSs stocking pretty much done

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 28/09/2019 19:49

Quite a few different reduced advent calendars on Groupon, too many to link unfortunately!

trilbydoll · 28/09/2019 19:50

If you're looking for present bags, clever baggers have all sorts of things. Their second section has multi packs which are ridiculously good value, or they do present drawstring bags that are similar to the ones Amazon use for gift wrapping.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 28/09/2019 19:59

Could someone post the details of the Tea Brew Co deal please? My DH would like that...and my MiL too!

Serenity25 · 28/09/2019 20:03

@PurpleSock I have pm’d you a unidays ASOS code, but it’s only for 10% off. Hope it’s of use.

Toomanycats99 · 28/09/2019 20:08

It's not necessarily a bargain but something different. Went in next today and they are doing a friends advent calendar it's a charm bracelet some mini bag charms and ou badges. Good idea for the tween girl who is a bit in between toys and makeup!

Bellablahhole · 28/09/2019 20:08

@SophieTurnersEyebrows The same thing happened to me on the Buckley site. Left the site and reopened it but the pop up didn't reappear on my tablet. In the end I used my phone to open the site and sign up for the newsletter, only to find that the 10% discount isn't valid for sale items!

Never mind, I still got some great bargains.

Wiifitmama · 28/09/2019 20:16

I just tried applying both the £10 tea code plus the £5 brew tokens for signing up. It doesn't work. One replaces the other sadly. That would have been truly bargainous otherwise!
