Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Referral link here . Use this to post any links where you can refer a mner and you or both of you get an incentive. For ease and fairness please don’t post these on the main thread.

daphine2004 · 03/10/2019 18:44

My Dr B order also arrived, despite confirmation of cancellation on Monday. I’ve let them know as not sure what to do with it. Smells amazing though!

MyIncapableOne · 03/10/2019 18:47

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned but The Works have 30% off with code Fall30

Kraggle · 03/10/2019 18:54

@Ironess thank you! I knew someone here would know!

SquintEastwood · 03/10/2019 19:06

This looks like a good filler for LOL fans!

Do amazon change their prices if a few of something sells?! Every time I’ve followed a link to an amazon deal, the price is double what whoever posted the link said it would be 🤔 was very interested in house of cards dvd for £3.99, but followed the link and now it’s £9.99!

wornoutboots · 03/10/2019 19:14

@TakeMeToYourLiar I posted the link so I asked my husband as he wears one.
He said :
" Press the mode button 3 times (bottom left)
Bottom right to cycle through hours, minutes seconds, and date.
Top Right to change it.
Mode button again to save it. "

The Tia-Rose website gives me the rage. I have loyalty points but cant get to them to redeem them!

Reastie · 03/10/2019 19:15

Och, busy day today. Just a reminder this is a happy Christmas place where we are full of Christmas spirit.

Affiliate threads are against mn policy anyway so not using them is a non starter issue. In the words of Zammo ‘Just say no!’

Referral posts on referral thread as it works so much better than clogging up this one. It’s not me dictating it’s the general consensus for a happy thread.

I’d like to thank those reminding people to follow this to make it a happy and easy place for everyone.

BusyB - 15% off with WEEMISSYOU

The code works on their clearance items, you need to spend over £20 pre code to get free postage.

Gorgeous 2020 Diary's and Calendars as well as other lovely stationary bits (wedding planners, receipe holders etc etc)

Thank you @recklessgran and @LadyNina00 for the cheap birthday card recommendations!

TwistedAnkle · 03/10/2019 19:19

Does anyone have any codes for discounted chilly bottles 500ml? Or would you recommend another cheaper make that's just as good? Thanks!
I'm still waiting for my huge Dr B order and have just succumbed to a brew tea kit - got carried away and no idea who I'm going to give it to!

TakeMeToYourLiar · 03/10/2019 19:24

Thank you so much @wornoutboots

wornoutboots · 03/10/2019 19:26

@Jammiebammie sorry to read that. (Disabled and have been household in the past too)to

In that case,
Your brother sounds like he needs an unicycle

friskybivalves · 03/10/2019 19:26

I'm sorry that I have no bargains to offer but I am worrying I have missed a Lego cafe deal. I have scrolled back to find rne tip from @hedgyhoggy but total failure. Could someone bear to post it again? My Dr B' stuff is here and I smelt the box walking up the garden path with the delivery guy!

HelloSweetlings · 03/10/2019 19:33

Thanks for clarifying, Reastie. I was feeling a little hounded earlier when I was genuinely just trying to help.

I need to nominate this as the next thread title though if there isn't one lined up this is a happy Christmas place where we are full of Christmas spirit Grin

Maranello · 03/10/2019 19:36

@TwistedAnkle John Lewis has 20% off Chilly bottles at the moment

JDSTER · 03/10/2019 19:40

I called into Oxfam today and 25% off cafe direct coffee and 90g bars of Divine chocolate. They had some lovely Fairtrade foodie bits.

boughtnotbrought · 03/10/2019 19:53

Pound Toy have their penny sale on again. Some good stocking fillers (especially if you have any Paw Patrol or unicorn fans!)

Reastie · 03/10/2019 20:06

Sorry Hellosweet, we have a title already I’m rather taken with.

Should add thanks to fluffy for sticking up for the thread, I’m hoping it was all a bit of crossed wires, and thanks to everyone for posting

I got all excited about a bargain chillys bottle then but John Lewis can feck off if they think I’m paying £2 for click and collect cheeky bastards

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 03/10/2019 20:16

@patm99 they do the villervalla tops in adult sizes v reasonable prices too I beg if you emailed Tia rose or found them on Facebook she would order some in for you.

Also a tip if you are a sz 10-14 the kids 152 and 158 will fit ( I wear alot of duns) :)

FireflyGirl · 03/10/2019 20:16

@Reastie has spoken.

Anyone caught arguing will be sent to sit in the corner and force-fed Christmas spirits from last year's gin baubles!!

I can't believe we're nearly at the end of the thread and I've only just realised I made thread title!

In the longrunning risque tradition of the bargain thread, I'd like to nominate eastmids' 'who wouldn't want a horn sticking out their stocking' for next thread title Grin

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 03/10/2019 20:19

@CosmicVagina pop them an email they will do it manually for you or send you an invoice with your points discounted I think there was an issue with the website and points. I decided to save my points up for a treat in new yr when I am feeling really poor
