Since no one has started it yet, I thought I would.

Happy Rudolph Day

So come on, show us yours!

They are pretty @Outtheforest

I've done my Yule log and it's in the freezer. I treated myself to a set of Spode Christmas tree cake forks and cake slice so I'm looking forward to serving that.

😭 Christmas poncing has taken a back seat to sorting out the school Christmas fair. Will be pushed to get everything done I wanted to. But we made mince pies the other day.

Loving some of your crafting. It is beautiful.

EgremontRusset · 20/11/2019 14:35

outtheforest that’s gorgeous! Link for instructions?

livingthegoodlife · 20/11/2019 14:45

I made mincee pies today (with homemade mincemeat, obviously). I will nab a few tonight but the rest are gifts - boo boo.

They look lovely!

I'm doing more at the weekend. 🎄🎅🏻

I've lost my poncing mojo! All my good intentions haven't happened and so now I'm very behind. I actually considered not putting up and decorations after all this year!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 21/11/2019 07:44

And I shall call him....Figgy Grin

"Egremont" for some reason my phone wont post the link but if you Google the spruce embroidery Christmas card it should come up. They are impressively easy to make, look much fancier than they are

MrsCrimbo74 · 21/11/2019 08:11

I always do a theme for wrapping presents for my friends children, and this year is elves.

Hey I'd love to join the Christmas poncing. We'll be away at MILs for the big day but I've still ordered a tree and a bargainous £8.99 tree holder.

I'm trying to craft my own decorations, so have been making little stars from an accidentally felted wool jumper for a garland. I bought one of those wire wreath forms from ebay to make one of those ornament wreaths. Not sure what else to do yet.

@Outtheforest those cards are beautiful, I'd frame that if it was given to me.

TwistedAnkle · 22/11/2019 09:03

Does anyone know if torte caprese cake can be made ahead and frozen? Some cakes just don't freeze well so don't want to make it if it doesn't. Thanks!

funnyfoursome · 22/11/2019 09:29

Hi everyone - am just finding my poncetastic feet again after a few years of sleep deprivation/ general mayhem!! Does anyone have a straightforward chutney recipe that won't cost an arm and a leg - thinking of making little jars for gifts. (If I should post elsewhere then please shout!)

funnyfoursome · 22/11/2019 09:30

PS Bought very cute little Kilner jars with red hearts on in Ikea last week!

NotTheMrMenAgain · 22/11/2019 09:46

Aww Batley your Figgy is adorable! Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 23/11/2019 07:58

Cross stitch done. Onto my next ones now. Once they're done we're having a framing night!

Oh wow, Figgy and Christmas cross stitch look amazing!!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/11/2019 12:53

Ah, Figgy hadn't shown up for me til now. Too cute!

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 23/11/2019 14:15

@funnyfoursome this Mary Berry Christmas chutney is terrific. Easy to make and ready to eat straight away. I've given it to lots of people and it's really popular. It looks nice with its red and green colours, too.

Thank you @DoAsYouWouldBeMumby !
Have gone for this one in the end

I just faniced fig and apple for some reason and this looked like minimal chopping !!!

lucysmam · 24/11/2019 10:57

I need poncing ideas for a Christmas cake with no marzipan or icing folks! My best friend likes neither of them but loves the actual cake.

Needs to be super budget mind you, and I don't think she'd appreciate real ivy from my garden, or holly on it.

help!!

SlatternIsTrying · 24/11/2019 11:19

Could I be so bold as to jump on the legendary poncetastic thread and ask a home made wrapping paper question?

I have no artistic ability at all but can copy. If I’m drawing/ painting/ whatevering on my brown paper - do I do it once the present is wrapped or before (but then won’t know which bit of the paper will be visible).

lucysmam · 24/11/2019 11:29

@SlatternIsTrying, I'd do it before unless it's an actual artistic type picture - stamps etc I wouldn't be so precise I don't think Xmas Smile.

NerosFiddle · 24/11/2019 12:25

@SlatternIsTrying I just used brown paper and stamps. Or more accurately my dc did. I spruced it up a bit with a nice ribbon.

SlatternIsTrying · 24/11/2019 12:43

Thanks. I think I was being a bit ambitious with ideas of a ‘scene’ on the front panel on each present (which would only work on a box shaped present anyway).

A - stamping I will go!
