Ahh thank you both so much. Honestly l just think this world is going mad. It's just not how it is meant to be .
Happy Anniversary to you both too Woolly and Hubbs Flowers
Will check out the Moo free choc, think they had some in Aldi's if l remember rightly, l got DD1 an advent calendar from there last year , thank you Fluffy Smile

EmrysAtticus · 04/09/2019 19:23

I am so sorry Mrs. It is so wrong when the young die.

CrazyBaubles · 04/09/2019 19:33

MrsMad how awful 💐I kind of understand - some people close to me have had sudden, unexpected losses and it really makes you question the way life works.

Fluffy we are away for Christmas. We are flying the weekend before Christmas, spending time in Mull before going to Edinburgh for Hogmanay (something I've always wanted to do).
I'm looking at places for lunch now - hopefully I'm early enough - we spent so much time planning our big summer trip that we sort of forgot about this!

Our wedding anniversary is in December. We usually exchange cards and spend the money on a weekend away rather than buy presents, especially with Christmas so close.

I love your scheming woolly - maybe I should do something similar for my dm, she's so bloody hard to buy for 🙄

I popped into the Works on my lunch and they had a little half section of Christmas craft stuff.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2019 19:38

Mrs, here's the Moo Free online shop. You only have to spend a tenner to get free delivery.

Crazy, it sounds lovely. I'm sure you'll see snow up there!

Not ashamed to say that on my daily walks with the dog I'm listening to Christmas tunes 🎅🎄❤

AMidsummersNightsNightmare · 04/09/2019 21:27

Crazy I’ve invested in proper rain macs for this year, so we’ll be having a lot of winter walks.

Mrs I’m so sorryFlowers

My DD2 isn’t settling into reception very well, so they’re considering staggering the entry for her. She’s in tears because she doesn’t want to go back tomorrow, I don’t know what to do. It’s heartbreaking.

Morning! It's still mostly-dark but looks dry, which is good!

Midsummer, that's really hard. We were lucky in that ours were fine, bar a little wobble as a one-off. Just go with what the school suggest as they've seen it hundreds of times. And just be really positive about school. She WILL get past it, they all do. It's horrible though, I know. Flowers

Only two working days until the weekend. Wooooo!

AMidsummersNightsNightmare · 05/09/2019 16:10

Thank you Fluffy, we talked to her teacher and they said they’ll send me an email once she’s settled so it puts my mind at ease. And she’s allowed to bring her teddy from home with her and I’ll spray it with my perfume so it smells like home. She’s also got a ‘buddy’ which is one of the older kids, so they will spend lunch and break time with her so she has a friend. At the minute she just follows DD1 around; but we want to stop that so she gets a bit more independent. She seems a bit more calm about it now.

Was lovely and sunny here this morning, but still freezing. It’s gone grey now so think we’re in for some rain!.

Mrsmadevans · 05/09/2019 16:27

Thank you all so much for your support and kindness. I am afraid to tell you my latest news. l am feeling a little insane. Do you remember the little girl l used to nurse ? The one who was on a ventilator all the time and the Drs wrote her off many a time, yet she recovered to fight another day. Well her Mum took the whole family on a Disney cruise last Saturday , she had the ok from the hospital, to go . Her Mum sent me pictures of how well she was only last night and how much she was enjoying it. She went to bed last night & passed away in her sleep on the ship. I just can't believe it .

BiddyPop · 05/09/2019 18:00

Oh MrsMad, that is terrible for everyone left, but a lovely way for her to have enjoyed the holiday and magic rather than having a struggle. And to pass away peacefully in her sleep sounds , well, peaceful.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 18:09

Mrs Mad FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers

I'm so, so sorry. But in a way, what better way for her to go on a magical cruise? Rest in peace, angel.

AMidsummersNightsNightmare · 05/09/2019 18:09

Oh god Mrs, I’m so sorry. But as Biddy says how lovely that she got to enjoy her holiday. I hope that can bring you comfort.

Mrsmadevans · 05/09/2019 19:33

Thank you all so much for your support and kindness. You are all so wonderful. Yes l agree it was so fitting for her to pass away having a Disney cruise and being the star of the ship. She was an amazing child🧡🤗 bless you sweetheart ❤️

FireflyGirl · 05/09/2019 21:13

Sorry for dropping off. I had some health issues and have only gotten back to normal the last week or so.

Flowers MrsM, you are having a time of it, aren't you!!

I've taken this week off work as DS started school on Tuesday (😭) and I've spent Tuesday and today decluttering ready for the autumn, and organising presents.

The kids I buy for are all sorted, and DS is sorted apart from stocking presents and whatever he asks Santa for hopefully not another 3ft fire engine!!.

Struggling with the adults, as per usual. I'll need to get onto the bargain thread. This is the first time in about 6 or 7 years I haven't been actively posting on there already! Shock

Morning!

Weather is shocking again. It's been so windy this summer, which doesn't normally happen, and it's continuing into autumn. I think it may stay dry though. Maybe (it was raining when I got up).

DS had a trip to A&E yesterday as a wooden pole in the playground somehow got dislodged and glanced his head / squashed his thumb. He's OK though, thankfully.

Hopefully today can pass without incident!

Firefly girl 🧡💐🤗thank you, have Missed you m'dear good to see you 🤗
Fluffy aghh poor Ds bless him 🧡windy here too like Dorien hurricane 🤪
Feel like the whole world has gone mad. BJ .. JJ resignation, Brexit , everyone dying.
Good news re Mugabe the evil dictator going, though he will be straight to hell. He won't even make the pearly gates 🤪 Am feeling quite ludicrous this morning. I mean what else can happen?

Mad it's all mad!💢🗯️😠😡👿😣

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2019 09:52

Ooh. Mind my poor manners! Welcome back, @FireflyGirl! Is it your DH whose birthday is 100 days before Christmas? I know it's someone's! Xmas Grin

BiddyPop · 06/09/2019 10:15

Firefly that sounds so wonderfully organised. Sorry to hear you were unwell, hopefully it will all settle again for you and that you can spend some quiet time browsing for the adults under the excuse that you need some rest and recuperation.

Stubble you're a little early for that (have you already got your sprouts on?! Xmas Grin). Maybe we should all celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving next month to get our festiveness an outlet sooner than later?! (The 2nd Monday in October, which is 14th Oct this year).

MrsMad ludicrousness can be quite delicious if done right - maybe today is a good day for a walk in the wind (somewhere safe - not an exposed ridge) and shouting out to the heavens about the madness of it all. But at least there is some "good" madness in amongst all the "bad" madness.

Fluffy your poor DS, glad that he's not badly hurt.

WAVES to everyone else I'm missing - im not getting much Christmas done, just trying to keep up with back to school and work and organising autumn activities for sailing and scouts. Hopefully though, I MAY get a night away with DH, as there is a family occasion coming up and we may be able to stay in the hotel that night with DD in DMIL's house locally - a whole night of sleep and relaxed breakfast together...!!! If only we can agree the date for the family occasion....

AMidsummersNightsNightmare · 06/09/2019 12:41

It rained over night and it’s really windy now, it’s meant to tip it down at pick up time🙄. DS1 has got a horrible bug so he couldn’t go into nursery today poor little mite. DD2 went into school a lot better today, there weren’t as many tears and she calmed down when her teacher came to talk to her.

Firefly you’re much more prepared than me. DS1 and DS2 should go down for their naps in a bit so I will get cracking writing a list on who to buy for. It’s DD1’s bday on the 19th Dec and then DS1’s 16th Jan so it’s a very expensive couple of months.

Fluffy glad to hear your DS is okayFlowers

BearRabbitPants · 06/09/2019 13:17

Hello everyone can I please join? I love all things Xmas and Autumnal 😊!

It states 18 degrees on the thermometer in the car but it's a grey miserable windy day & feels much less!

I'm having a poo-ey day I've been suffering with infected wisdom tooth since Tue , which now has an abscess next to it 😖! On antibiotics but it's still bloody killing me & the painkillers I've been given are making me feel shit soooo drained & tired plus I have barely eaten since Tue so I'm very weak 😢!
And DD 6 months is under the weather too!

Here's hoping this household is feeling much better over the weekend- soon as this tooth stops hurting I'm devouring an enormous meal!!!

CrazyBaubles · 06/09/2019 14:06

Glad to have you back and I hope you're feeling better Firefly

Hope DS is ok too Fluffy

MrsMad I'm so sorry, you must be so numb and in shock 💐

Welcome stubble

Fingers crossed for your night away Biddy, it sounds as though you need it!

Midsummer glad DD2 coped better today and hopefully DS1 will be better soon.

Welcome bear Can you manage milkshake? Hopefully antibiotics will start working soon.

I'm just back from my lunchtime walk. I'm really struggling with sitting at my desk at the mo, I feel so restless HOWEVER, this was what I spotted in the card shop....

AMidsummersNightsNightmare · 06/09/2019 16:00

DD2 did so well today!. She came running out really happy and she can’t wait to go back Monday. Apparently her teddy had a great day tooGrin. I’m so happy for her

BearRabbitPants · 06/09/2019 16:37

Crazy Omg I didn't think of milkshake! I'm going to send DH to McDonalds to get me one on his way home from work I think!

Xmas cards already! 😬. I've started planning our Xmas Day, every year for 4 years in a row we have hosted Xmas, except last year when we went to my mums as we didn't have a kitchen (house renovations) . This year we've decided to just have Xmas by ourselves at home. That way I can actually "chill out" a bit on Xmas day rather than cooking, hosting, making everyone comfortable, making conversation 🤣!, getting dressed up etc... this year I plan to have a lazy morning with DCs opening presents then do 3 course Xmas lunch at 1pm, then clear up with DH , get in to fresh new Xmas pjs & sit on my bum eating chocolate, play games & watch TV! Bliss!

Mrsmadevans · 06/09/2019 18:13

Haha Crazy l think l recognise that card shop lol Grin
Biddy , hope you can manage to get a night or two away with your DH Smile
Have been shopio today, in time of trouble go shopio Smile , there was so much Christmas stuff in The Works today , very reasonable all of it . Lovely things too. I bought a few things from TKMAX too Grin
Fluffy you have a remarkable memory ! Flowers
