Morning!

Crazy, there's loads going round. I hope you're better soon. I'm not well enough to allotment this weekend. I'll have to knuckle down the weekend after! I'm on the mend, but not better.

I was on the list to have my wisdom teeth out at 18, but they'd come through fine before I got the appointment, so didn't bother. Persistent tooth problems are awful though.

And I love Love Actually too. ❤️ Have to watch that and The Holiday at Christmas.

Yes I got to see the end Grin

Feels chilly this morning but thermostat reading 18° so def not cold enough for heating. Dd has a party this afternoon and I have lots of washing to do.

Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2019 08:15

Morning 🌞
Firefly girl your picture is beautiful , have put my view up this morning. Lol what a difference 😂
Crazy you poor thing, you have been poorly such a lot this year. I am thinking it's the children's bugs that DH is bringing home too. When l worked with children in my job all the new staff were off with bad tums, chests, sore throats until they built their immunity up 💐
Wheelie, it's great you can still have a little bit of a treat to eat as well . You are doing so well it must be such a relief for you and your family 💐😀
DH & DD watching the rugby this morning. I am taking Mum to Knit n Nat . My Sister is away for the weekend so I can relax 😊
Mum is much easier for me to look after when my sister is not here. It's like the spell is broken
Fluffy take it easy this weekend you were really poorly m'dear 🤗 💐
Right better get shifting , have a wonderful day everyone 😀

Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2019 08:20

Wreck it's much warmer hee thus morning too. No need for heating on either 😀. We did manage until Thursday evening before we put the heating on this year 🤪
Have to sort out my Dad's car today. Get a Sorn on it . It's been on the drive since he passed away last March . Here's the picture of outside my bedroom window this morning such a difference to Firefly girls 😁

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2019 08:24

It's warmer here too, but the lounge was 16.4, so the heating went on. It's going off now though, as it's up to temp (being 18+).

Would you not be better just selling the car, Mrs? It seems a bit of a waste just sitting there.

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2019 08:32

Ahh Fluffy the car is 17 yrs old it's worthless really. Mum wants to keep it on the drive. The house is untouched from when he died. His shoes clothes coats all about as if he was still there. I think it's her way of coping. Tbh. I always keep 2 plate settings on the table as well. It's just how we deal with it l suppose. It does feel like he is still there so l suppose it helps Mum in the long run. We are all different and cope in our own little ways. I would clear things away after a while once l came to but it's her way of coping.
Better shift have a good day and hope you feel better today 💐

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2019 08:35

Oh, that'll be a scrap collection then, once the time comes (our old car just met a similar end!).

Bless her. It must be so hard after having been together for so long.

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2019 08:46

Yes it will l suppose didn't think like that. My Dd1 was going to have it but Mum couldn't bring herself to give it to her 🤗. We didn't mind tbh it was probably for the best because she would have been under scrutiny 🙄
Have mixed feelings re Mum. Have to allow her some bad behaviour because of Dad's passing l feel. I blame my sister for it mostly. Anyway that's enough of them. I am feeling better today thank God . Sister has bgrd off to Cheltenham literary festival for the weekend and we can relax 😀

Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2019 08:48

Em it sucks doesn't it ?
Look after yourself and your little family m'dear 🤗 that is all you can do 💐

onthebusoctopus · 05/10/2019 09:04

wooly I followed it a couple of years ago but I haven’t since. I’ll look out for it this year.

wheelie i’ll Post a picture of it soon, and it sounds like it was still a productive day for you!. I could go on nightmare neighbour next door! My neighbours a horror.

mrs I’m glad you’re feeling a bit betterFlowers

crazy that sounds awesome! I might get myself one this year, I don’t have a DH so I can do what I wantGrin. Sorry that you’re ill, I’ve started to get a snotty noise, it’s that time of year.

fluffy I love the holiday! God I might watch some Christmas films tonight.

My tooth feels better today, not as sore but still tender. Me and DS are off to DGM’s, we will take her out to do some shopping and then probably go to the pub for lunch. I need to get some more clothes for nursery for DS as he seems to have shot up!. I’ve made a list for what we will do for Christmas Eve (I’m a huge list maker and I need to plan my day as much as possible). I think this will be a lovely Christmas Eve.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2019 09:06

No time for Christmas films tonight, octopus, it's Strictly! 💃 (We always watch after about an hour's delay due to bedtime!)

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 05/10/2019 09:10

Morning.

I have a confession to make. I don't like The Holiday. I can't put my finger on it, but it's just not for me.

Onthebus what's on your list? I love a good list too.

Dh is working today so i think I'll treat dc** myself to a McDonald's breakfast.
When I was in B&M yesterday I noticed the two opposite shoppers. One ran over to the Christmas section shouting OMG! and the other humbug saying it's not even halloween yet blah blah blah. I of course stood in solidarity with the former.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2019 09:15

My Christmas film confession is hating Polar Express. I don't like the animation style of it and it's really boring!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 05/10/2019 09:37

This is my morning view!

I didn't used to like polar express or elf but they've grown on me. Can't beat a cheesy Chanel 4 Christmas film!

It's GBBO, Strictly and the start of the -ber months...the countdown to Christmas 2019 is officially ON (thread 5)!
TheWoollybacksWife · 05/10/2019 09:57

I've never even seen The Polar Express Blush

We watch Elf as a family on Christmas Eve. My favourite Christmas movie is The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant and David Niven.

I watched a Hallmark style Christmas movie years ago called Holiday in Handcuffs with Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch). It was utterly cheesy and made me long for a snowbound Christmas in a log cabin.

I haven't don't like the polar express either. The animation is too lifelike, it freaks me out.
Love Elf, Home Alone 1&2, like the Holiday and Love Actually but my ultimate favourite is A Muppets Christmas Carol. DH rolls his eyes and refused to watch any Christmas films except Die Hard and Elf (and they're once a year max).

Woolly I watched a made for tv Christmas movie with her in last year. It also had Dean Cain (superman tv show) in it. Was pure cheese - was called Broadcasting Christmas.

I kind of prefer the made for tv ones because they have no shame about being pure shmaltz.

flouncy how come you drove but DH walked?
I hate putting the shopping away. That and hoovering are my most hated jobs!

Firefly any vitamin in particular you can recommend? When going through treatment I took so many that I just stopped altogether when it became clear they weren't going to make my treatment work. I haven't really thought about them since but my immune system is rubbish and since DH retrained and started working in a school I've been ill loads - especially a few weeks after he goes back from half term / Christmas / summer etc.

I am currently sat watching dnephew play his sport. We signed him up and bought his kit as his birthday present (long story short, dsis can't take him as she has 2 under 2, on with CP and her oh is just rubbish). As DH is away I am shivering on the side of the field hoping it'll be over soon 🤒

flouncy that sounds like my dad's idea of gardening. My mum had a lovely hydrangea in the front garden and every few years he'd chop it to a stump Hmm

I can't remember what I used to take, Crazy as I stopped being a teenager a loooong time ago.

I take Berocca now, if I need a boost -because it turns my wee neon orange and I find that very amusing Grin but I'm sure any multi-vits would help.

You'll have to invest in some thermals for your Saturdays... ☃️

WreckTangled · 05/10/2019 14:02

I made soup for lunch. Cauli cheese with crispy bacon. Was pretty tasty.

Firefly It's just weird! In one of them this pensioner was torturing the neighbors and hit a lady and hit the police! I was like OMG what on earth!

That sky definitely counts as Red!

emrys a quiche sounds really yummy

Mrs sounds like your mum feeds off your sister emotionally when she's there. Like the way the sweetest little kids can become raging jerks around certain other kids.

Also what a lovely view!

Octopus yeah I had a bad neighbor myself but they moved out thankfully! The new ones are pretty quiet so they don't bother me any!

My Christmas confession is I HATE the Elf movie lol it gives me horrific second hand embarrassment and I can't do it.

Woolly My dd1 loves Holiday in Handcuffs. It's her absolute favorite!

flouncy that sounds like a good way to get some activity in his life! Especially if it's not a dangerous route!

firefly and flouncy My dad gardens like that! He hacks all the limbs off periodically! I'm like NO it's so ugly now!

fiddle LOL at the shoppers. I went into the very small Christmas section the other day and some cow was like 'why are you shopping Christmas? It's not even Halloween!' and I was like 'I need LED lights for my Halloween display' and she gave me such a look of intense betrayal haha

I woke up and my house was 17 degrees this morning! I think before long we'll have to turn on our Heat. It's 9 outside now. Soon our leaves should finally start changing.

As it's Saturday my kids will go off to my dads and I'll try to get the house cleaned if I can. I need to get a new dustpan on a stick as mine broke.

Here's photos of Azrael and Lilah for you guys since you haven't seen them in so long. Lilah is sooooo big. She's 8 lbs now and super long. She's our longest cat.

In April I got house plants and I haven't killed them yet! They are even reproducing! So I'm proud of that!

Think that warrants an award of some kind, Wheelie Grin

Forgot to say MrsM, that is a glorious view. I live in a very flat part of the country, so to see mountains in the background makes me a bit Envy!

onthebusoctopus · 05/10/2019 15:50

Fluffy oh I completely forgot strictly was on, i might crack open a bottle of wine and order a Chinese to treat myself tonight.

neros our Christmas Eve plan is:
-wake up and go to the cafe for our breakfast, visit Dnan and Daunt and uncle. Then we will go to my parents and go to the church service, then come back and open Xmas eve boxes. Have a bath and then watch the polar express and bedtime. We stay at my parents house every year on Christmas Eve. I hope you enjoyed your maccies breakfast!

mrs what a gorgeous view!

wheelie my neighbour is a nightmare. We’ve got cameras in our garden and our living room as she looks in on the daytime and also when she confronts me I have it on record. She’s banned from a shop up the road due to steeling and me and my neighbours have put in complaints.

I love the polar express! I think it’s the most Christmassy film you can get.

It’s been a great day with Dnan. I got some clothes for DS (May have spent too much) and some stuff for his room. My throat is on fire, I’ve had some soothers but I think they’re more sweeties than medicine. I love the winter but I can’t wait until March when the bugs are gone!.

(Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I’m typing it as I cook tea)
