What's the ALNCO, Emrys?

DS is being investigated - slooooooooooowly - for some kind of sensory processing disorder due to how he reacts to things in the world around him (plus nail and hair cutting, labels in clothes etc). Wheels turn very slowly though.

It's the new term for SENCO fluffy and I think DS has an issue with sensory processing. I can't touch certain things without my hands tensing and turning claw like and it physically hurts if I touch sponge for example. Fortunately all mine are things easily avoided.

DS will stop and his whole body tenses and he starts shaking. He has done it his whole life and I wonder if it's a reaction to something in the environment. It happens more inside so perhaps visual if there is too much going on/too enclosed.

No real idea however! I hope your DS gets some support soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2019 17:23

DS is a bit like that too, when it all gets too much to cope with for him. How strange that they're similar!

I hope your wheels move faster than ours for your DS.

WreckTangled · 03/10/2019 18:01

Is he stimming emrys?

Everything moves so slowly it's infuriating. Ds' blood were back this morning but no one has looked at them yet so I still don't know what they say. Had to sit on my hands all day as I have access to his medical notes (would obviously never do it!).

I made a paneer and veg curry for dinner was so tasty and have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

EmrysAtticus · 03/10/2019 18:23

Ooh I love paneer curry wreck. I have a delish slow cooker recipe for a paneer and sweet potato curry.

Yes the ALNCO thinks he is stimming. Everything I read associates it with autism but I genuinely can't see any other traits of autism in him.

I hope you get the results first thing tomorrow!

FireflyGirl · 03/10/2019 20:29

That must have been so hard, Wreck. Well done for resisting!

I feel for your DC with sensory issues. DH works in CAMHS; his waiting list is 10 years!!!

I'm still getting over my bug; it's been a doozy. I've been off work again, but I have a n all-singing, all-dancing work laptop so at least I've been able to keep on top.

It has a digital pen thing that IT scared me about by telling me it costs £80 to replace!! Shock I've stuck a label on it with my phone number!

WreckTangled · 03/10/2019 20:30

Our laptops take an hour to turn on in the morning Grin still on windows xp! Your dh must be pretty awesome to do a job like that

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2019 20:32

That sounds fancy, Firefly. I don't have such things (or even a basic laptop!).

I need to get my laptop installed with the link to work from home before the bad weather starts. Just in case!

My bug has lodged in my sinuses now. Unpleasant.

Sounds like a grim bug, Firefly. Hopefully that's you for the season now though.

Fluffy we don't have desktops only laptops. Kills my neck when I have an office day. We're meant to have monitors and keyboards to plug into but there's only two in the office so not enough to go round.

Back when I was in primary care we all had two monitors each. Those were the days used to make work so much easier

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2019 20:39

We have two monitors. Love it!

So last night my sister told my Mum that l wasn't grieving my Father's death at all, this is the second time she has told Mum this, that l have witnessed . This was on Mum's Nanny Cam which is visible to everyone. My sister phoned me up on my Mum's mobile phone this afternoon, to tell me about the leg clinic she took Mum to. Mum was in the car with my Sister and her DH. I went mad at her about it . My Mum said hang up on her. I just can't win Sad, No one knows what they are like. I will be branded the mental one yet again. God why is life so hard.

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2019 21:09

Ignore me l am having a pity party Hmm

FireflyGirl · 03/10/2019 21:19

I'd have told the lot of them to fluff off a long time ago, MrsM. I think you're incredibly kind and patient.

I seem to recall you had a big to-do with your mum about your sister earlier this year as well? Blue-eyed child syndrome.

We have two monitors plus our own keyboards, plus now the laptops that we plug in instead of a desktop and can use as an extra monitor. It's very Space Age, but definitely makes work easier. And it's a touchscreen laptop! I've only had it since last Friday, they're just rolling them out and I'm in the trial group, but so far I very much approve!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2019 21:24

We had that (no touch screen though) at my last firm. And docking stations at the firm before so your laptop was your second screen.

Mrs, I don't know what to say. What would happen if you just stopped giving your time to your mum? Would she even click it was a reaction to their treatment of you? I'm sorry it's shit. FlowersFlowersFlowers

sneaks in and waves awkwardly It's been ages. My life has been crazy but I'm decorating for Halloween which means as soon as those come down up goes Christmas.

Mrs. Your sister is just a right COW. UGH she makes me mad.

I've gained 23 lbs this year and am doing well. (10 KG in your measurements) now I'm just holding this weight and I'm good.

We have orange Halloween lights up, a little projector projecting our ghosts and we have an inflated pumpkin this year. I want to get a spooky tree inflatable too lol

It's extremely hot and unpleasant right now but tomorrow the temps are supposed to drop and it's gonna feel like Autumn finally

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2019 21:43

I don't know how Mum would manage Fluffy. I can't stand the way they treat me . I am so upset all the time. The things my sister says about me are horrific. Thank you so much for being so kind Flowers
Firefly yes l did have a huge bust up earlier in the year. My Mum rolls her sleeves up . I am the mental one for objecting to being spoken about in this way, Thank you my dear Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2019 21:54

Wheelie oh it's good to see you m'dear Smile

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2019 22:10

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2019 22:30

Am off to bed have a good night sleep everyone Smile

WheelchairWoes · 03/10/2019 23:00

Night Night Mrs!! I'll share a photo of my blow up decorations later on! lol and my lights!

Sleep tight all you folks across the pond!

onthebusoctopus · 04/10/2019 00:28

Mrs obviously I’m new and I don’t know the background of all of this, but can you start reducing the time you spend with your mom and see if someone else could help out?. I don’t know if that’s possible but it seems unfair that you’re doing so much to be treated that way, I understand it’s difficult when it comes to family thoughFlowers

I’ve just skimmed this, but I hope everyone who’s getting assessments/diagnoses for SEN are able to get it done quick. I work in a school and have to help out with SEN children and the time it takes for some to be diagnosed is appalling.

Wheelchair a fellow halloween decorator! I’m going pumpkin picking with DS on Saturday and we will put our Halloween decs up them. I will post pictures.

WheelchairWoes · 04/10/2019 05:11

onthebusoctopus YES! I love love love Halloween! Here's my house so far! I want to get at least two more inflatables before Halloween and get the up.

Morning!

Welcome back, Wheelie! You've done so well with your weight; I bet you feel so much better now!

Brilliant decorations. 🎃

Mrs, your mum doesn't deserve you to go round. It's not on to 'tolerate' you for care, then rip you to shreds with your sister and abuse you. You know what, it doesn't matter if she won't cope; your sister will have to do it. You aren't obligated.

I think you should go on the Stately Homes threads, you sound like you're very much in the FOG. Your mum doesn't deserve you. Flowers

Good to see you wheelie!

Mrs I think I would go NC I couldn't have someone like that making me miserable. Your got your dh and lovely dd you don't need toxic people in your life.

Harvest festival this morning. Dd has a duet and ds is a butterfly and rat Grin
