Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

I meant to add that you don’t have to actually buy a car! The tablet and echo might make a good gift.

There’s also a free gift worth £122 when you spend £70 (so not exactly a bargain!) online at Elizabeth Arden. Use the code AUGUST

Ticklemeelmo · 19/08/2019 08:27

Hello, great idea. Will be watching with interest! Have a baby due 1st week of Jan so I want to get all my shopping done well before December in case it comes early!

HeartshapedFox · 19/08/2019 08:30

Love this thread!! I haven’t been on mumsnet for AGES but thought I’d just check in and see if anyone had started a Christmas thread for this year.... I was not disappointed! [santa]

Anyone with younger kids, I've just ordered this leapfrog computer book that's went into the sale in Smyths (pink and blue). £26 - is £50 in Argos!

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts thank you. Dd1 is 5 years old. Live in Denmark where they first start school at 6 years old. But the mouse looks awesome, going to google to see if I can get it for a good price... Smile

Jfw82 · 19/08/2019 08:56

@MrsLem we got the deluxe mini micro last year. Best offer I found was to be signed up for emails from JoJo Maman Bébé and to buy when they sent out a 20% off

PhannyMcNee · 19/08/2019 09:01

Just signed up for a test drive, thank you @Angelf1sh Flowers

QOD · 19/08/2019 09:05

Wohhooooo I love these threads!! Dds stocking is done (she’ll be 21 the week before Xmas too) with soap and glory massively reduced stuff from Boots 70% sale
She wants a Phillips Lumea with the body AND face thingy that range from about £300’up
I can get 15% off first order at Phillips or buy at Boots and get points - she’s a student so I don’t know if I can get her to buy it and combine the student discount ? Probs not
Let me know if anyone sees any offers

PinkDaydreams · 19/08/2019 09:09

@QOD I’m after one of the lumeas too. Someone on another mums eat thread said they get reduced on amazon Black Friday to around £250

StrumpersPlunkett · 19/08/2019 09:10

Thanks for the test drive info.
We have 2 cars and 2 surnames so possibly twice the fun !!!

Luxplus · 19/08/2019 09:11

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts do you know of any spy bots you could recommend? We been looking at amazon but theres like loads to choice from. Thank you Flowers

SquintEastwood · 19/08/2019 09:16

@QOD - is this Lumea thing?

It's Amazon's deal of the day and sends to include all the bits for £299 :)

QOD · 19/08/2019 09:27

Oh wow! That’s the top Model one right ? That’s normally £399?

SquintEastwood · 19/08/2019 09:28

I must admit I'm not actually clued up on them but from what I gather when googling I think it's the right thing.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/08/2019 09:28

@NoWordForFluffy good point, hadn't crossed my mind. If you prefer a particular brand I say buy now in case imports are affected

PinkDaydreams · 19/08/2019 09:47

@QOD @SquintEastwood there’s another for £550 on amazon that’s got other attachments included

0ttoline · 19/08/2019 09:56

Thank you to the poster who mentioned puppetsbypost.com I've ordered four of these cute looking glove puppets (there are different animals) for £10 with free delivery. Just what I was after for stockings.

MrsLem · 19/08/2019 10:04

@Jfw82 thanks so much. That's somewhere I wouldn't have thought of!
