2019 Christmas bargains thread 1

Reastie · 18/08/2019 07:26

Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

Thanks for the dust & things site. Perfect for a wedding gift I need to buy. If you sign up to the newsletter you get a free key ring too.

The llama is for a 19 year old with learning difficulties, she saw an advert (or YouTube?) and was hysterical laughing at it, she loved it! She's watched it over and over but then she's forgotten about and not asked since that day, so I really want to get it for her because she will be really excited to see that it's real. Her mum is fine with it, if it makes her happy she'd have baby shark played at full volume on a continuous loop!

It's certainly not something I'd inflict on a family without checking first! Xmas Grin

Hoping to get it for a good price, but not sure it's going to reduce at all Sad

MorbidMuch · 24/08/2019 16:08

Thanks for the tip about the Sue Ryder Advent cottages. Mine arrived and it's lovely! Really excited to fill it, particularly as it has the four big drawers as well as the little ones.

RagamuffinCat · 24/08/2019 16:19

It sounds perfect then! I hope you find a good price for it, and that she loves it Smile

Wiifitmama · 24/08/2019 16:21

Thank you for the ecookshop link. I just bought three lovely baubles as gifts.

Not sure if this is just Ireland but Sylvanians beechwood hall half price on littlewoods.

Also the LOL Glamper.....5 year old has decided she wants it...... any reviews???

Someaddedsugar · 24/08/2019 16:29

Not sure whether it helps anyone but I've just passed a Smiggle shop that had a sign outside advertising a discount for multiple buys of the advent calendar - I think if you buy 4 you get 20% off - might help if 4 people wanted it on here and could post on to each other?

Someaddedsugar · 24/08/2019 16:31

For anyone who lives in Durham, Shincliffe garden centre always have baubles and Christmas decs similar to those on eCook shop and reduce them at the start of the December and they're always at bargain prices. I usually buy them as gifts for grandparents.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/08/2019 17:02

Smyths has all kind of discounts. Worth a look.

Jessica78 · 24/08/2019 17:08

I'm sure I saw the twerking Llama on sale in Matalan? Worth checking. I think I looked at it in horror for a little while hoping my LO wouldn't ask for it...

MorbidMuch · 24/08/2019 17:22

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but there are some lovely reduced bits on the Piccalilly site, including some organic cotton baby things with robins on. Great if you have any babies coming this Christmas!

MorbidMuch · 24/08/2019 17:24

Also, August10 gets you an additional 10% off your order at Piccalilly, including sale prices. I've just ordered some things for a friend who's due at Christmas.

Wiifitmama · 24/08/2019 17:41

Thanks so much for the Piccadilly link - a cousin is having a baby just before xmas and I was able to get a very cute little outfit!

Reastie · 24/08/2019 18:00

Twerking llama?! That’s got to be a thread title!

The Joules eBay outlet have 24% off this weekend - I've just bought this jumper for under £19 with free p&p - saved about £5 vs the Joules website. The discount is applied automatically.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/08/2019 18:59

I reckon so, @TellMeItsNotTrue! Congratulations! Xmas Grin

Stardustmoon · 24/08/2019 19:32

Luxplus · 24/08/2019 20:11

@Coffeeonthesofa thanks. That was all the reamaning packet calendar sorted Smile

Reastie · 24/08/2019 20:37

Spam that looks great but delivery whacks up the cost :(

i cannot let dd2 see that llama, bad enough she drags cock llama from last year's thread everywhere 😂 he's had his ear sewn, back stitched although he will need re stuffing soon as he's getting a bit floppy!!

NoWordForFluffy · 24/08/2019 20:42

It's free delivery, @Reastie. It's probably done the usual Amazon trick of defaulting to the paid option in the hope you won't notice.
