Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

Nowordforfluffy that’s weird as I put two in my basket and the only delivery options were paid, no free delivery.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 24/08/2019 20:56

Reastie try ordering one at a time. Fingers crossed that will work.

Fantababy · 24/08/2019 21:02

Re must have gifts, anyone seen anything about a baby shark fingerling? I saw it in an article a while ago. I think it's been released in the USA but not sure if it's coming over here for this year.

Also, anyone have experience of Happyland? DD will be 3 in April so think she's probably about the right age for that sort of thing but how is the quality? Any recommendations? All deals I've seen seem to be sold out too.

(Sorry, no bargains at the mo!)

MulberryPeony · 24/08/2019 21:04

Thanks for the joules outlet tip - needed some wellies for DS anyway. Sorely tempted by the matching raincoat.

Also got some cheap heelies and playmobil from the previous thread.

Someaddedsugar · 24/08/2019 21:05

@Fantababy Happyland toys are great! DNiece is three and loves hers, and DS is two and plays with his constantly. They're built to withstand a lot, and the sets are really engaging for little ones.

I would recommend looking on the Entertainer's website as they have 20% off, or if you can wait, sign up to the Mothercare mailing list as they always knock the prices down by 50% nearer to Christmas and you can get some bargains.

The train set is really good and is usually £40 but goes down to around £20. The farm, stables and fire station are also all great from experience. There are a couple of fairytale type sets including Jack and the Beanstalk and a pirate ship and these also usually end up discounted.

@Fantababy not sure how you feel about second hand but there's always loads of happyland on fb marketplace near us, we got our little boy a load for his birthday and as it's so hardy it was in great condition!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 24/08/2019 21:32

fanta happyland is brilliant my eldest dd is 11 in Nov and the Ferris wheel and mushroom house is still her go to house for her figures!! have a look out second hand you can get some fantastic bargains and it cleans up really well. the double decker bus, rocket, pirate ship and boot fairy house are also v good. also in terms of longevity we use it in my preschool and it gets used all the time and is still in fantastic condition, it's been in water, oats, sand covered in shaving foam and washes perfectly each time 😁

I really wanted to buy the Jack and the beanstalk, and the gingerbread house but can't justify it for a 10 and 7 year old 😂😂

NoWordForFluffy · 24/08/2019 21:33

@torthecatlady, it's got Christmassy colours!

Trumpton · 24/08/2019 21:34

PinkBuffalo · 24/08/2019 21:43

I popped into home bargains today (was out and about so didn't pick any of these up, just a few food bits) but saw in their toy section and camping section lots of bargains.
Might be worth a look for anyone looking for camping stuff for presents (or in general!) and several toys such as my little pony and other good quality items reduced to £3.99

torthecatlady · 24/08/2019 21:44

@NoWordForFluffy Grin At least my house will might be clean for Christmas 🎄

SquintEastwood · 24/08/2019 21:53

Tomy Kiipix instant photo printer from £22.99 at Argos - also available in blue or pink for a few quid more.

Might be a good one for hard to but teens.

The joules outlet has an extra 24% off for the bank holiday weekend

SushiGo · 25/08/2019 07:18

Re: joules, my kids really liked the bamboo socks that you can buy in individual pairs from ebay during the sale last year and they are doing it again:

flamingo socks £1.43 also spotted snakes and sharks.
