Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

the girls stocking from hawkins bazaar arrived today

plenty of good bits for my DS's stockings, plus a couple of bits that are just too girly but can be grouped to make a nice gift for a friend's daughter

not bad for £15 ish delivered, and it feels good to have made a start!

gaggiagirl · 22/08/2019 22:12

Hello! So pleased this thread is back.
Im B&M today they were stocking the seasonal aisle and had begun putting the advent calendar stickers on the shelves.
Always an excellent selection of edible advent calendars available at b&m and they sell like hot cakes.
I got the kellogs cereal one last year for me but missed out on the mcvities one for my husband. I must try harder this year.

Isadora2007 · 22/08/2019 22:33

@gaggiagirl you didn’t miss much from the biscuit one tbh- lots of Clubs, Gold Bars and breakaways. I’m going to do a nicer choice of biscuits for dh this year.

I went to B&M today to stock up on birthday presents & saw lots of xmas gifts out. I bought the Lego movies character encyclopedia & Ninja book for £5 each. Not sure how much they retail normally.

ClosedAuraOpenMind this Sass and Belle sale is really good. It includes outlet/sale items. I wonder if I can stack codes

StrumpersPlunkett · 22/08/2019 22:40

I have been on Oliver bonas there seem to be several that look great. Which did you get @Teaandbiscuits88

101Robin · 22/08/2019 22:42

Yeah I think you can stack WELCOME10 which is 10% off on top of Sass and Belle's store wide 20% off

imabusybee · 22/08/2019 23:04

Long time lurked first time poster!

I sorted my parents in laws Christmas gifts today ordering two county maps from Pepper Pot Studios here
www.pepperpot-studios.co.uk/uk-maps/english-cities.html
(hopefully a clicky link!)
They are £12.50 for a4 size unframed but look really lovely. Extra 20% off with PEPPERPOT20 and free delivery!

My plan is to pop them into a couple of cheap a4 frames and hey presto a lovely personal gift for less than £15! They do some UK cities and counties but not all.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 22/08/2019 23:36

@AHintOfStyle my apologies Xmas Wink Xmas Grin but if the friends game is as popular as I think it will be then I'll have saved you the hunt later on Xmas Grin

ImNotHappyaboutitPauline · 22/08/2019 23:49

@ClosedAuraOpenMind Thanks for the Sass & Belle tip! DD is mad about elephants, I've just pulled this Elephant rug into my basket Smile. Some lovely things for dc rooms!

woodwaj · 22/08/2019 23:57

Thanks for the advent calendar links!! I'll be having a nosey through them this weekend as a treat for me!!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 23/08/2019 00:22

another thank you for the sass and belle tip, got loads if lovely bits for the girls room for Christmas. dd2 loves cats and unicorns so the caticorn range is perfect for her. I bought a rainbow rug for their room too. plus a dish for my tea bags and new coasters. real bargains to be had especially as welcome10 stacks on the already discounted outlet and 20% off. I got 3 pencil cases, 2 cat food bowls, avocado tea towel, rainbow rug, trinket dish, set of 4 coasters, 2 plaques, cat shaped hook, 2 money boxes, photo block, cushion, wall stickers all for £42!

small tip, keep an eye on Facebook marketplace loads of bargains to be had at the moment as people are clearing out. and if your children are into specific toys there's usually a Facebook group for it, I've bought lol dolls that have been clue checked or new just opened for my daughter much cheaper than the shops. (the ones without packaging I will wrap in tissue paper) I'm on Lego and funko pop groups too as my DD's are into them aswell!

I am going to start my Christmas shopping after I have celebrated Halloween and my birthday.

CupoTeap · 23/08/2019 05:20

Does anyone have any leads in the toys everyone is after this year?

Mileysmiley · 23/08/2019 05:28

Barbarara · 23/08/2019 06:30

I was sorting out school uniforms last night and thought of you lot. Christmas bargains and going back to school are inextricably linked in my head Smile

Present Indicative have a sale on. Always very quirky bits.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/08/2019 06:44

KV99 for an extra 10% off at Debenhams. Might only be clothes and home, but not sure.

babycakes1010 · 23/08/2019 06:49

I managed to get Lego marvels superheroes 2 for the switch for £10 in my local Tesco....not sure if it's nationwide

autumnleaves15 · 23/08/2019 06:56

Watching :-)

Last time I was in the Yankee shop (last Sunday) they had some of the large jars for £11.99 instead of £23.99.

Jammiebammie · 23/08/2019 07:00

A lot of Lego on sale on amazon for deal of the day. Noticed far from home sets, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lego city and ninjago so far. There looks to be a wide range of sets and some really good savings. One I wanted for dd is reduced from £55 to £33.

Jammiebammie · 23/08/2019 07:03

A link for the amazon Lego sale would be helpful, sorry!

Echo down to £34.99 again too, and other deals here

Mileysmiley · 23/08/2019 07:07

Any ideas what I can get a 2 year old boy for his birthday?

Mileysmiley · 23/08/2019 07:07

His birthday is in November so it is quite close to Christmas

Teaandbiscuits88 · 23/08/2019 07:10

@StrumpersPlunkett I got the red check scarf that was down to £6 from £35 and the rainbow striped one which was £8 down from £39!! Wouldn’t have paid full price for them but I have to say they are both fantastic quality and sumptuously soft

Teaandbiscuits88 · 23/08/2019 07:11

Instant pot is down to £69.99 on amazon. Cheapest it’s been according to ccc
