2019 Christmas bargains thread 1

Reastie · 18/08/2019 07:26

Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

@Angelf1sh it definitely is, she played with it a lot, still loves the little ladybirds now. It helps that there’s a mum and a baby, she made up little stories for them.
Batteries have only run out once too!

MooPointCowsOpinion · 19/08/2019 22:21

@Willow4987 it’s started already, just buying some LOLs now!

MrsLem · 19/08/2019 22:33

@HeartshapedFox thanks! Also got the duggee bag!

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 19/08/2019 22:43

bought the girls stocking from Hawkins bazaar. I can break it up for presents - thanks!

Monkeymonstermum · 19/08/2019 23:01

Ooo, thanks for starting. I lurked a lot and posted a little last year.

Does anyone have the link for the prequel?

MrsSopranos · 20/08/2019 00:43

Normal service has resumed!!! Congratulations Reastie and thanks for the new thread x

MrsSopranos · 20/08/2019 00:47

Does anyone know of any Disney codes around at the moment?

newroundhere · 20/08/2019 01:08

lilygirl81 · 20/08/2019 01:50

Thank you for the Ness link, my sister loves that!

rainbowstardrops · 20/08/2019 04:19

@PhannyMcNee that's a really good idea! Went to HP world a good few years back and DD doesn't remember it, so definitely looking into that!
Will look at concerts/theatre shows too 👍🏻

DamnitCharlie · 20/08/2019 04:46

This thread is great! I have a baby due near Christmas Day and a toddler who will turn 2 in October so I'm looking for a few baby bits and lots of toys to keep my toddler entertained. I'd like to buy it all soon before I'm on Mat leave.

Also a few male adults birthdays in October (who never want anything)

I'm trying to be eco friendly with my shopping this year but it seems to be incompatible with getting bargains!

Reastie · 20/08/2019 06:52

QOD fantastic! Need it for face but would be handy for elsewhere too! I’m sure I looked into it and got totally freaked out by that it said you had to shave area before using and I didn’t want to shave my face! Might be wrong though...

damnitcharlie I’m trying to be eco too. It’s hard! But yesterday I brought a bamboo reusable travel
Mug in Robert Dyas for only £2. They only appear to have one design on their website but had loads of different ones.. will make a nice stocking filler..

scrappydappydoo · 20/08/2019 07:43

Sorry link here.... www.robertdyas.co.uk/cambridge-coffee-travel-mug

Shantotto · 20/08/2019 07:48

Ah some of these lego clearance would be perfect but there are none in stock anywhere near and they don’t seem to deliver them.

Angelf1sh · 20/08/2019 08:03

Yeah I’ve just tried 5 different parts of the country and can’t find any Argos store near anyone I know that has them! I wish they’d just tell you where they do have them so you can decide if you want to go and collect them!

Strawberryfield12 · 20/08/2019 08:06

Bought Lumea few months ago based on other thread in Style and Beauty section. It has definitely helped a lot with the "hairy chinny chin chin"...

QOD · 20/08/2019 08:07

Ah now see I DIDN’T and WON’T shave my face. I pluck them zap. Then the next batch come thru white and weaker. If I keep it up regularly they fizzle out and get very sparse
I do my top lip without plucking and you can kinda smell hair lol. But again it goes weaker and thinner but I only have the odd dark one anyway
Armpits I find hard because I have excess skin from weight loss
I really should do my legs - actually I will today. Broken knee and all lol

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2019 08:11

@Angelf1sh, you can click to say you don't care and it shows you anywhere in the country. If anywhere exists. Some stuff is apparently listed as available even if it's out of stock, it would seem.

Angelf1sh · 20/08/2019 08:12

Oh can you? Thanks that’s good to know!

Chocolateunicorn · 20/08/2019 08:36

Love that the Christmas thread as started! Thanks restie I'm after reviews please my DC are asking for goo goo galaxy and goo jit zu. The goo jit zu reviews I've found on Argos are awful and I really don't want to buy one to burst the same day.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2019 08:46

@Chocolateunicorn, I've no clue what they are, but they sound shit from the names alone! 😂

PandaAtTheZoo · 20/08/2019 08:53

Not sure if mentioned and it's not a mega saving bargain but the LEGO Disney Princess Cinderella Dream Castle - 41154 is on the argos ebay store for £42.99. It's £60 to £70 elsewhere.

Castle

Osquito · 20/08/2019 08:58

Le Toy Van budikins seen in Poundland; make nice stocking stuffers or can add to an already existing collection for young children.

In my store they had a builder, a safari vet, a Native American chief Hmm and 2 different football players.
