2019 Christmas bargains thread 1

Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

@Cocoismydog if you have Facebook there’s a brilliant lady who makes all her own bathbombs, they smell lovely and actually leave your skin soft. My DS has bad eczema and even he was fine with them. She’s called Mrs snowballs bubble boutique. She was recommended on here a couple of years ago and I’ve had a monthly box from her nearly every month. 5-6 large bombs plus a huge bag of crushed bombs for £15. I bought some of her smaller Christmas themed boxes last year and even my 2 year old DS loved them.

De lurking here. Looking for help - Mum always wants slippers. Usually get n & s, but want to get sone a bit more special. She has bunions though, and think prefers those with extra support for arches. Size 6. Any recommendations?

Topbird29 · 20/08/2019 09:36

Meant m & s. No idea who n & s are!!

totallyLosingIt · 20/08/2019 09:40

@Topbird29 Padders slippers have always gone down well with my elderly relatives, including my Gran who has badly shaped feet from years of shoving them into shoes that were too small. Ended up getting DH and myself some too, and they are very comfy and warm slippers.

Re night gowns and slippers I love both my pairs of Celtic and co slippers, I have slipper boots and also mules. I would repurchase! They're not cheap but have lasted really well and there's often a code knocking about for money off.

White company do have nice looking nightwear though I don't think I've ever actually bought any. John Lewis have some nice stuff too, and Fat Face sometimes

Chocolateunicorn · 20/08/2019 10:54

@NoWordForFluffy they look it as well 😂

ThreeTree · 20/08/2019 11:04

White Company slippers are always well received. I think I saw a couple pairs in the sale (for small feet!)

MissMarple0203 · 20/08/2019 11:17

Following! Thanks to whoever posted about the mardles books...they look really good!!

Worrywart21 · 20/08/2019 11:19

Thanks for the puppet recommendation. I bought 4 for £10 with free delivery for my baby niece

Topbird29 · 20/08/2019 11:41

Thanks. Will look at slipper recommendations 😊

TheFatberg · 20/08/2019 12:15

Thank you for the workstation link @MrsCrimbo74 - really good price especially compared to Le Toy Van.

Tamtam86 · 20/08/2019 12:23

Ooh can I join? I'm expecting baby no 2 on December 19th so want to get it organised early this year and have lots of people to buy for so this is just what I need!

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 20/08/2019 12:50

big thanks to the poster of the pilgrim sale site - some lovely jewellery there. got three presents (including necklace and earrings set) with gift boxes for £32. even managed not to buy anything for myself!

new customers can get extra 10% off with the code 1STBUY - which works on sale items too

Letsgetreadytorumbleagain · 20/08/2019 13:00

Celtic & Co. have 10% off and free postage with code WCPC19. Code seems to be added automatically - just ordered some sheepskin insoles from there for adult DD's stocking. [Feet permanantly cold due to health issues.] Actually @Topbird you might find some lovely slippers there.

margaritasbythesea · 20/08/2019 13:53

When Land's End did their 50% off just before Christmas last year I got some sheepskin slippers for £25. Might be useful for those looking for slippers, although I am not sure if they do this every year.

Does anyone know!?

LillithsFamiliar · 20/08/2019 13:58

I'm constantly in awe at how organised you all are so I'm posting so I can find the thread and in the hope of subconsciously programming myself to get on top of Christmas this year

CharlW1 · 20/08/2019 14:23

Delurking here. I got some absolute bargains from the prequel thread but need to get more organised, as I have a fair few to buy for.
For DD and DS I find Poundtoy and toysforapound fab for stocking fillers but have also looked at the bright minds site, which someone recommended, which has loads I could get my nephews!

Kissmyaxe · 20/08/2019 14:23

Mum to 9 year old triplets (BBG) here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Love this thread and always on the hunt for bargains!

Luxplus · 20/08/2019 15:33

Not actually my finding but on another tread someone recommended me www.bakerross.co.uk/arts-and-crafts/clearance?product_list_order=sequence
I'm making a craft box for the dds to share and bought loads in the clearance site Smile they came today and really good quality and really nice looking...

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 20/08/2019 16:20

topman has a few bits left in their sale - some jeans down from £45 to £5!! I got dh some original fit and they are really nice. maybe for teenagers/men in your life :)

torthecatlady · 20/08/2019 16:44

Dh always buys me a Filofax diary insert for my lovely Filofax at Christmas. Boring I know, but I love being organised.

They sent an email for free delivery when you purchase a 2020 refill. Code in the pictures below. Great for a stocking filler for students.

Another poster here who can recommend mrs snowballs bubble boutique! The monthly subscription box is fab with no ties. If you use hers then you will notice how greasy bomb cosmetic ones are!
