My bread maker seller has been in touch and I'm collecting it at lunchtime tomorrow. 😁

Nero, I hope your DD is better soon. Enjoy looking through your books.

I've ordered a bottle of Absolut vodka via Sainsbury's as it's on offer, paid for with Nectar points. That's for my Christmas stash!

Somebody's child has a whistle. On a train. Now that's antisocial!

I saw that recently, Wreck. Forgot to mention it though!

The GH one must come out soon!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 15/08/2019 19:43

GH was out start of August last year. I know this because the only place I could find it was in WHS at the airport when I went away at end of August. I had been looking for weeks before hand.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2019 19:50

Hmmm. Do they do it every year? If so, where the buggery is it??

I love these threads, Thank You!

Sunflowers211 · 15/08/2019 23:44

@blacksmiths09 I love this shop! I live in Darlington and it's probably one of the best shops we have! Apart from that Christmas Shopping trips to Boro, Metro Centre, Leeds and Newcastle are days out I look forward too!

Morning!

Oh god. Raining. Again. I'm going to get very wet. Again. Boring now! ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️

But, it's Friday, so yay! I'm not sure about weekend plans. I want to clear the second allotment plot, but it's not officially ours yet, so it's a bit of a risk in case we don't get it. But I've been told that it's a formality really. So might do it anyway. 😂

The weather is meant to improve after today. Thank god.

Morning all.

Dd has a 40 degree temperature again today so looks like a trip to the gp today. I've slept about 3 hours since Tuesday and I'm exhausted.

Biddy and anyone else in Ireland, Brown Thomas opened their Christmas shop yesterday.

Mrsmadevans · 16/08/2019 08:33

Fluffy go get her and claim her there's gold in them there weeds 😁
Nero your poor DD hope she is better very soon💐💐
Have just booked Mum and l flu jabs in Boots for Sept . There was a huge back log last year so we are first in t'queue this year 😂
Have a great day everyone 😀

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/08/2019 15:15

Ohh Flu Jabs . I;ve had Flu Jab Collection Data pinging up on my laptop since about June Xmas Shock (NHS , they encourage Front Line Staff to have the jab to protect us and the patients , so we get them early )

I went for a wander round our local shops , dropping off recycling and Charity Shop things , local card shop has those massive Christmas gift bags in

Soon be time to embaress DD by:

Singing tunefully (I think) to 'FairyTale of New York' in shops
Getting in with the 'Bah Humbug ,now that's too strong' when they play "Christmas Wrapping"
Saying Teacher says:Every time a bell rings, an Angel gets his wings in the most syrupy voice , when I hear a bell .

DD couldn't eyerolll more if she tried Xmas Grin

PrincessConsuela12 · 16/08/2019 15:41

The weather in rubbish today and a definite nip in the air so I put the heating on for an hour and played Christmas songs 😄 daren't tell anyone else, they'll think I'm mad 🙈

ChristmasInJuly · 16/08/2019 17:17

The heating kicked in today! And I’ve had my Christmas playlist on. Just wish the weather could have held on a bit longer - we’ve got holidays booked for Norfolk and Filey over the next few weeks and I’ve just ordered puddlesuits and wellies online for the kids. Ah well, fingers crossed we’ll get abroad next year!

Love the campfire-style Christmas ornaments on the John Lewis website, ta for the heads up!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2019 17:23

Bread maker was collected. I've read the instructions and can't wait to get it home!

I'm also very wet indeed as it's been tipping down all day. It's meant to improve from tomorrow though.

@ChristmasInJuly It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I too wish the weather had lasted a little longer although I have heard it is supposed to improve.

Have a lovely holiday!

WreckTangled · 16/08/2019 18:18

We're going on holiday next Saturday so I can't get Christmassy until we're back Grin

Mrsmadevans · 16/08/2019 20:37

70 joins her DD in the eye rolling Bah Humbug Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2019 23:19

We've managed to avoid the heating. Just! And it was sunny by this evening. I'm sure it'll be warmer tomorrow!

I've made mincemeat tonight. And I've been doing the cross stitch again. I'm getting somewhere now. It's so fiddly with all the little blocks of colour.

I shall let you know how it fares in the morning.

One hundred and thirty Xmas Shock

I Xmas Envy the bread maker but my pesky innards don't tolerate bread. It's a rare and much enjoyed treat to have white bloomer toast and thick honey .

Enjoy !

NoWordForFluffy · 17/08/2019 07:29

My MiL can't eat bread. She can eat gluten, but not bread. The doctor said it's probably an ingredient specific to bread she can't tolerate.

We have fresh bread!

I'm off bread too (low carb for type one diabetes) but I can make my own. I need a bread maker 😋

NerosFiddle · 17/08/2019 09:54

Morning all.

Fluffy how was the bread?

I "made" Danish pastries this morning.

I'm watching breakfast and they are giving storm warnings for this afternoon.

It came up on my Timehop that I made Christmas chutney this day last year. I have no recollection at all of it.

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/08/2019 10:32

I love my breadmaker! It was a Christmas present from DH last year (asked for Grin) and I use it pretty much every other day. I tend to use the dough function and then bake it myself though as I can't be arsed digging the paddle out of the loaf if I leave it to cook.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/08/2019 12:34

The bread was great, Nero. We just had some for lunch too!

Woolly, getting the paddle out was ridiculous! I might revert to the dough making only at some point.
