New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Welcome laury

@Mrsmadevans have you seen the new Kat Von D vegan mascara? I saw the advert on the Debenhams website and thought it might be a nice stocking filler for your DD1.

I've just got an email from Superdrug to say the makeup Easter Eggs I ordered for my DDs have arrived so I'm going to pick them up this afternoon.

lordofthefries · 18/04/2019 10:53

Morning everyone😊

Welcome @lauryloo, your re-do Christmas dinner sounds amazing.

I’m off swimming with my DS today, it’s his birthday tomorrow and we’ll be with family all weekend so I want a bit of time just us two before we go.

Morning!

I was so busy at work yesterday; I have now got through almost all of the 556 emails which arrived in my absence, as well as all the ones which came in this week. I've also got my tasks down from 6.5 pages to just under 1 (partly through getting through the emails). Safe to say I'm knackered now!

The physio told me that I can take my sling off as well, which is awesome. I'm to put it back on if it gets tired. I've not worn it for over 24 hours AND I apparently slept on my right side quite a bit last night, without pain! That's mind blowing!

Hi to Laury, nice to have another Christmas fan. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas dinner yesterday!

We are going out tonight, without the kids! Very rare indeed. Then we're back up to the Lakes tomorrow, cat-sitting again.

It's BBQ day today. The kids love a BBQ!

Hello laury

Easter is like another Christmas here , all the planning, we have a Trdition with our meals and this morning The Easter Bunny took a bag of eggs and treats to the DC (they are 19yo and nearly 17yo and should've outgrown all this malarky but no. DS was pretending to be asleep (he said) when I went into his room . I think it is Teen Bloke Speak for I'll ignore her , she'll leave the sweets and go away and not ask me to set the table or make coffee .

Two hundred and fifty days [fgrin[ It's nice to see a 'landmark' number and of course there's a Rudolph Day next Thursday .

I was out yesterday (shopping with DD and then Sainsbury with DH) it was not too busy but tomorrow will be mad . I ave to buy some veg but I think we have enough Easter Eggs .

I have an "Easter Fridge" to gaze into (and a new dishwasher hurrah after the old one broke)

There are some crockery bits in the Christmas Cupboard that come out for all occasions (not festive patterned , mainly white or glass)

I'm baking a lemon drizzle that'll be drowned in lemony glace icing and a sponge cake that will have icing and sprinkles . Takes in the cakey aroma .

Afternoon ladies, DS turns 2 todayGrin. We’re just getting ready to go to the farm near us, he’s so excited bless him. I’ll catch up with everyone later, I hope you’re all doing well.

CishAndFips · 19/04/2019 18:20

Happy birthday to your DS lord i hope you all have a lovely time at the farm. DH is currently making fish and chips and im sat in the garden enjoying the last of todays sun.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/04/2019 18:29

I hope your DS has had a good birthday, fries.

I've mown the lawn and weeded the front and back gardens. Doing all the bits I've not been able to do in ages, it feels! We also went food shopping briefly.

We had a BBQ and are now on the way to Liverpool to watch Back to the Future accompanied by the Czech Symphony Orchestra at the Philharmonic. The kids are being baby sat by the in laws 😁

Thank you both, he’s asleep now, he’s bloody shattered the poor little tyke. I’ve ordered us a Chinese’s and we’re in the garden to soak up the last bit of sun. Then off shopping early tomorrow, it will be a busy weekend for us

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/04/2019 20:11

Aww Grin that he had a good birthday and is worn out .

I have a photo of my DS when he was 2.6yo , a month before DD was born , on a mini tractor at Farmer Palmers in Dorset , He was on his last Little Boy Holiday as an only child , we stayed in a caravan (not overly comfy at 36 weeks pg but he loved it ) having 'adventures'

Eyeballs tall judgey 19yo student DS and thinks wistfully of the old days Xmas Wink

lordofthefries · 19/04/2019 21:15

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I can’t imagine my little one being 19, I still think it’s crazy that he’s already 2!. I may have spent a lot of today very emotional that he’s getting bigger. We’re all in the front garden now and the neighbours have had a BBQ, it smells so much like summer

NerosFiddle · 19/04/2019 22:08

Lord happy birthday to you DS. Glad he had a good day.

Dh only has one more day to work and then he's off for 3 days straight. I won't know myself having help Grin

Morning! I'm zonked today as we had a very late night. It was worth it though as we had a great time.

We're off to the Lakes this morning. It's going to be amazing weather, so I'm looking forward to that!

Nero, enjoy having the extra pairs of hands around!

Morning. Happy Easter!

We forgot to bring the kids' eggs with us, but they're happy with the sweets they were left by the MNer whose house we're in!

We're off for one of the walks which starts at Sizergh Castle today, which will be nice.

Hope everyone is OK. Woolly, enjoy your egg hunt at your SiL's today!

Morning all and Happy Easter, we’re going to FILs for dinner today, but to be honest I’d much rather be in the garden with a BBQ!.

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/04/2019 13:34

Thanks Fluffy. We are en route - just left the M6.

Fries we are heading to SILs for an Easter egg hunt, BBQ and a couple of cold glasses of wine in the garden.

lordofthefries · 21/04/2019 13:50

@TheWoollybacksWife Envy I cant even have a drink today! FIL is making a big roast and I don’t know how I will stomach it.

NerosFiddle · 21/04/2019 16:34

Happy Easter!

lauryloo · 21/04/2019 21:53

Happy Easter!

Our Xmas day re do was a hit, In fact I think I made a better dinner than the one we had on Xmas day

Got a turkey crown from M&S and it was really good :)

CishAndFips · 22/04/2019 08:22

Good morning its been lovely raeading of all your easter plans as i was catching up this morning.

We have had a lovely easter weekend although im deliberately doing not very much today.

DC's said i was a very mean mummy yesterday as i would only let them have 1 of the small eggs they found on their egg hunt yesterday. Today i have opened an egg poured cereal in each one ( sort of a bowl) for their breakfast and now im an amazing mum and soooo cool. My DC's are very fickle, and easily bought for chocolate it would seem.

Morning!

Another gorgeous day here. We're just cleaning up where we've been staying before going home. I need to get to the allotment today, and the kids need to get ready for school tomorrow.

Cish fab idea about the Easter egg cereal bowls.

I woke up in a cold sweat this morning panicking that I hadn't sorted the clean uniform for DS (I did it as soon as he broke up) and he's done his homework too.

On our way home now. Hope the M6 is kind to us. 🤞

lordofthefries · 22/04/2019 13:39

@CishAndFips That’s a great idea!.

I’m off out for a meal with friends today, I’m so tired. This bank holiday has been so busy, I can’t wait to have no plans!.

Back to work today. Still from home, so could be worse. Except my system isn't working, so I can't actually do anything. I'm on my third or fourth restart now, to no avail. Angry

The weather isn't as nice as they'd said it would be. Maybe it'll burn off soon and warm up.

heading out today for a national trust Easter egg hunt - we are in NI so still another week of Easter holidays to go here! The littlest one is off for 2 full weeks and she doesn't understand why she's at home (SEN)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/04/2019 20:34

Back at work here too
DH had a day off
DD still on holiday from 6th Form
DS still on holiday from University (though both have work to do )

Our old lady guinea-pig has enjoyed some garden days (we put a hutch in the run for her ).

Got some gardening done
Made a batch of amazing Yorkshire Puddings on Sunday (proper ones not Aunt Bessie Xmas Wink )
When I asked DS if he missed all the Easter Egg Hunts and trips we used to go on, he just said what would make his Easter Sunday perfect was chicken, Yorkshires and gravy !
