New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Hey everyone!. I didn’t have an Easter egg this year and then DH’s grandad just showed up with some mini eggs and a chocolate bunny for me... I love that man.

I’m watching the haunting of hill house and it’s scaring the crap out of me. I can’t understand how people enjoy things like this.

Dh is back at work today, so back to the grind for me too. We had a great couple of days and the weather was great. Although we're supposed to get thunderstorms this evening.

Laury I'm also in NI Grin

70 I would love to make proper Yorkshire's but they never turn out right. I'll have to stick to aunt Bessie's.

Lord I don't like horror films so I avoid them. I'm ok with slasher films like Scream but I don't like anything with evil spirits etc.

CishAndFips · 24/04/2019 20:14

Evening all. All back to work/school here. I got absolutely drenched in a thunder storm on the way home from work today. DD is in bed now and DS will go about 8.30, DH and I are going to continue binge watching homeland tonight. That is unless he decides he wants to catch up on snooker in which case in going to curl up in bed with a cuppa and a good book.

Morning! Life is very busy now I'm back at work. Thank god I've got tomorrow off!

It's gone gloomy and has rained a bit here after chucking it down last night.

We have excitement in the house as our pumpkin seeds have germinated. We now have 2 too many plants, so will have to palm them off on somebody! 😂

I need to go to the allotment tomorrow and do some weed clearing ready to get my leeks and brassicas into the ground, as well as my dwarf beans. I need some canes for my runner beans too. It's all exciting stuff right now! 😂

Afternoon all,
Back at work today. I only vaguely slowed down while I was off - made some progress on the "mountains of doom" that reside in the spare bedroom, the study, the dining table, and the "Bog of Depression" that is the garden.....but lots left to do. DD was away for 3 days in glorious weather on Scout Camp, so DH and I had some peace. We didn't put out any Easter decorations though, as DD was away.

Back to work with a thump - 1 staff member been in bulling for a row already, 1 DSibling bulling for a row via SM (I'm not in the cross-hairs, but she's trying to make me take sides, I'm not involved at all on this one!), and I have a bunch of admin to do for both Cubs and junior sailing (Cubs mostly sorted, I think - sailing I need to get done).

And I need to book my flights with DH over the weekend - but we have agreed on where we will spend Christmas!! (Now he just has to break it to DMIL....)

Ooh , 'tis a Rudolph Day Xmas Grin

We had a pizza (Dominoes) for dinner , my DS and DD are still on holiday but doing loads of work for Uni/6th Form.

I have some de-cluttering to do, but I have Chocolate Marzipan (Neideregger) delicious .

Only 8 months to go

Oh , threats of Storm Hannah on the horizon.

Eyes up washing machine full of clean towels
Considers if its worth hanging them out

NoWordForFluffy · 26/04/2019 07:06

Depends if you want to see them again, 70! Grin

Evening all. Im getting rather fed up with the constant rain, on a plus note though the DC'S Christmas bedding arrived today. Ive never done christmas bedding before im so excited. I also ordered an eael for DD that was on offer for £10.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/04/2019 22:08

I'm just back from Avengers Endgame. It was a brilliant film but my bum is numb. DS is well trained - we came out of the cinema and he asked for the DVD for Christmas. DD2 has already sent me a couple of links for things she'd like too. Christmas shopping gets easier every year but the surprises get fewer.

They played the trailer for the new Star Wars movie tonight which will be our Christmas cinema trip. The new Men in Black movie looks good too.

Morning! It's forecast wet and wild here because of Storm Hannah. It's not so bad yet, however, thankfully!

Woolly, I'm looking forward to predictability re presents without resorting to a list to Santa. Far easier! Xmas Grin

DH and DS (19) are off to see Avengers Endgame in 3D today . There have been loads of films that I have thought would be great in 3D but they weren't released in this format.

Christmas and Birthday presents get easier as they get older ( money for DS and this year Driving Lessons for DD ) . It;s the Stocking Gifts' and DD's Beauty Advent ( that I make myself) that are trickier .

DD is 17 in about two months. She always has a box of little gifts to match her age ( so this year , 17 little gifts) or as she calls them "random things" .
But buying small, useful, non-crap things for a teen is difficult . With DD it'll be : 'nail polish, earrings, phone cables, chocolate, face mask' sort of things.

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/04/2019 09:17

70 I imagine that the fight scenes will be amazing in 3D.

It is wild and windy here too. My first thought when I heard the wind was that it would be a good day for laundry but then I heard the rain.

Chilled out day ahead once I've been to Tesco and taken DS to karate.

TheWoollybacksWife · 28/04/2019 10:25

Did they enjoy the film 70?

Usual Sunday stuff going on here today. I did pop into Morrison's yesterday while DS was at karate and got some more stamps for my Christmas savers card. I try to do it as close to the 25th of the month as possible just so I remember.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/04/2019 11:19

They did Woolly Xmas Grin

It's their sort of film - they like Deadpool , all the Marvel films , GoT , TWD (but not the last series) .

He said it was a bit Xmas Sad at the end !

NoWordForFluffy · 28/04/2019 16:31

Afternoon!

I've done 7 hours at the allotment today and am officially broken! Grin As I'm not allowed to dig, I've had to use a little hand fork to get weeds up / turn the soil. I reckon I've another 5 or 6 hours to do on Friday too.

You can see how weedy it is from the photos. Sigh! My caulis and broccoli are in the ground and my Brussels are still growing at home. I've got leeks to go in as soon as I find time, as well as my French beans. But for now I need a long bath!

Morning! It's looking like a beautiful day today, after the weekend's storm. I imagine April caught up with its average rainfall figures last week!

It's a good job I'm still working from home as I struggled to get up today: I'm tired and very achey! It must've been good exercise at the allotment! 😂

@Mrsmadevans, I hope you're watching Line of Duty. This season is a cracker!

Right, work time! Boo!

I've finished my Woolly Hugs stuff so I'm going to start my next project tonight - it's going to be a knitted Nativity for my friend who is a Reception class teacher.

NerosFiddle · 29/04/2019 20:15

Sounds lovely Woolly. I've been looking at buying a Grimms nativity, but it's still quite dear even at this time of year.

TheWoollybacksWife · 29/04/2019 20:30

I've just googled them Neros. They are very sweet.

lauryloo · 29/04/2019 20:49

@NerosFiddle grimms is dear all year round. We have 2 rainbows and I think I'm the only person in our house who is interested.

New Thread for the New Month Fluffy ?

Xmas Grin
NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2019 20:06

Evening!

No new thread yet, 70...we've loads of room on this one! Xmas Grin

It's been nice and sunny again today. I spent my lunch break removing snails from the garden into the green bin. 🐌😂

The shed was removed yesterday as it was rotten and leaning. We now have loads of space to relocate our poly greenhouses and pots to. The garden feels so much bigger and lighter!
