New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

They sound lovely anita. I have one set of multi coloured lights but they aren't long enough for any of the trees we have (3Blush). I should really use them as they were bought for our first Christmas tree over 30 years ago so they probably have all the traditional colours. I just need somewhere to plug them in 🤔

Jacksmadre · 21/06/2019 20:04

wooly 3 treesShock I’d love that!. We get a real one each year but it’s usually very small. I’d love one in our kitchen because that’s where we spend most of our time but I don’t think one would fit. Im going to get our baubles out soon and make sure we haven’t smashed any

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/06/2019 20:22

@Jacksmadre I blame this thread! Until I started contributing to it regularly I had one tree and was content with it. Then I bought one for the dining room a couple of years ago. Then we moved house last year and we have a big hall with a dog leg staircase that was crying out for a large tree...

My name is Woolly and I love Christmas

Mrsmadevans · 21/06/2019 20:26

My name is Mrs and l only have one tree Blush

Jacksmadre · 21/06/2019 20:30

wooly that’ll be me soon😂 I’m thinking of places we could put another tree, I might try and get one in every roomGrin

anitagreen · 21/06/2019 20:43

@Jacksmadre They have them on amazon takes ages to find them though I can't remember what I searched to find them now x

NoWordForFluffy · 21/06/2019 20:46

Well, we just had to sort through some Christmas wrapping paper to squeeze it all into the two Really Useful wrapping paper boxes! We also have one box of birthday / any occasion paper.

Then I found 3 Christmas tree decorations I don't recall buying! Xmas Blush I truly have no idea.

Then I found two boxes that I vaguely recall buying.

We have two trees, a 6ft pre-lit tree in the lounge and a 4ft one for the kids to decorate in the dining room. (It looks like Christmas vomited on it once they're done!) Xmas Grin 🎅🏻 🎄

I've now bought all of the stocking gifts bar the dairy free Santas I'll get nearer the time and DS has some Lego already too.

We've also booked to go to Glasgow and Aviemore on 20 December for 4 nights, 2 in each place. We'll hopefully get tickets for the Strathspey Santa steam train on 22 Dec. It's DH's 40th on 23 Dec, so it's a treat for him, but sadly his birthday does get absorbed into Christmas a bit now we have young kids.

Fluffy that sounds like a cunning plan Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/06/2019 21:47

All your stocking fillers Fluffy - even for this thread that's organised. Shock

I just seem to be buying for DD2. I don't know if she's the easiest to buy for or if she's the one that tells me what she wants. Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 21/06/2019 22:03

I've not got much, Woolly. Just a few bits, and the Lego set is in a biggish box so takes up lots of room!

Morning!

We're just getting up as we're off to Lowther Castle today, near Penrith, so we're setting off by 8 if possible.

It's meant to be nice, but not too hot, which is ideal.

What're everyone else's weekend plans?

EmrysAtticus · 22/06/2019 06:57

My Dbro is visiting which is nice. DS has a party 10-12:30 today and DH is taking him so I will Potter round the garden and catch up with Dbro. This afternoon will probably be a park and gymnastics. Tomorrow we will go for a nice day out somewhere :)

Enjoy Lowther Castle :)

Jacksmadre · 22/06/2019 08:24

fluffy all the stocking fillersShock go you! You’re wayyyy more organised that I’ll ever be. Enjoy Lowther castle.

It’s my grandmas birthday today so we are having a BBQ at my aunts to celebrate. Sunday should be a chill day, we usually see our friends on Sunday so we’ll be going to see them.

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/06/2019 09:55

Off to Tesco in a minute then I've got a few errands to run while DS is at karate this afternoon. BBQ for dinner so DH is cooking although no doubt I'll be his sous chef.

It's a lovely day and I've got one load of laundry done with another ready to go in once DS's cricket whites have finished their soak in vanish.

anitagreen · 22/06/2019 10:13

Mrsmadevans · 22/06/2019 10:31

Lost a massive post earlier 🤗🙄😁 so forgive me my many msgs lol 😂 lt had to be done 😀

Jacksmadre · 22/06/2019 11:43

mrs thank you 😊. She’s having a great day already 🥳. Good on you for keeping out of the drama, it’s an easier life keeping yourself to yourself.

anita I normally wait until a month or so before the big day, just to make sure everyone has 100% made up their mind about what they want. But if I see anything throughout the year I’ll pick it up.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/06/2019 12:17

Mrs, you're very sensible re your mum and sister; much better to stay out of it!

Did your mum's leak get sorted?

DD is loving the massive slide in the playground here. It's brilliant!

I buy all year really. Though I'll hold off as long as possible with DD this year as she's getting to the age you can't manipulate her round to your choice! I'll see about DS though; usually anything Batman is fine for him!

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/06/2019 12:25

Anita it's easier for me as my DC are older (2 adult DDs and a senior school age DS) so I don't really need to worry any more about not getting the latest toy or buying something and then having them change their mind on the 21st December.

I tend to buy things as I see them - everything I've got so far has come from the bargain thread (Clinton's sale, Body Shop sale and LaLaLand) and I'll be looking for things like theatre tickets or subscriptions for my DDs so I have to buy them as they go on sale.

For my relatives we buy cinema passes for the families with children and edible gifts for the adults.
