New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Just been to visit DNan. She’s been taken to a specialist Alzheimer’s hospital, and she’s doing really well there. The nurse pulled us aside and told us she’s coming on leaps and bounds. Back home now and then bed for us all.

VivaJen · 09/06/2019 20:35

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. It sounds like everyone has had a busy week. We went to our local wildlife rescue centre’s open day today which was fab (and I bought 2 packets of Christmas cards).

I love the gardening updates Fluffy and Emrys. I have 3 potato bags and herbs!

FireflyGirl · 09/06/2019 21:50

Stupid real life getting in the way of MNing, hey chips?

I get allotment-envy looking at your photos, Fluffy. I just need to be able to get out there for a couple of days without DS and crack on. I've dug some bits of beds, but the rest is going to be strimmed until we get chance to deal with it properly. It's just a bit overwhelming at the moment!

That's a lovely idea Emrys we're going to do a bit of a wildflower section on the allotment.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/06/2019 22:02

I have a flower (and weed!) section, Firefly. Forget-me-nots have taken over a bit, but that's OK (they appeared, I didn't plant them!), though I did clear them from round my lavender so they had room to grow.

I sowed my wildflower seeds a bit late, but I hope they'll still come up.

I have viola and sunflowers at the front. I got 2 trays of viola for 54p each from Dobbies in their 'almost-dead' section and they're thriving!

Morning!

Another lovely day here, before the forecast rain for the rest of the week. Hopefully the weather then improves in time for DD's birthday.

First day in the new job today. Nervous! But I'm sure it'll be fine; they seemed nice and normal in the interviews (but don't they all?!).

Firefly, it's a hard time of year to get an allotment as you're thrust straight into growing season. Just do what you can and then plan / prep for next year. Hopefully it'll be easier once DS is at school.

I just abandon the DC with DH when I go to the allotment, it has to be said. It's the price he pays for homegrown, organic, veg!

I hope your new job goes well Fluffy!!

I’m off for my ultrasound in an hour, I can’t eat anything or even have my morning coffee. I’m going bloody insane, the kids are getting on my nerves a lot more this morning than usual. I’m dropping Jude off to nursery in a minute and then Jonah is going to stay with my mum for a bit today. Fingers crossed they find out what’s been playing my stomach up🤞🏻

Fedoratheexploreer · 10/06/2019 08:57

Just realised I posted the boys names without thinkingBlush I’m very tired

BiddyPop · 10/06/2019 09:55

Morning all,
I'm also suffering with real life interfering. But as I am travelling today, I should get time later to catch up on the news. Busy day yesterday, and less time than I expected to get things done (DB rang from overseas, which is always a long call, and DD hurt her back on the water so skipped the last race and prizes so they were home over 2 hours earlier than I expected - she's ok, just strained it). Dull, cold morning, our summer intern arrives in an hour (so I need a work programme pronto! Although I know the bones of it...), and our new boss arrives in 2 weeks so I will get some strain relieved at that point.

I plan on purchasing a good magazine, new Sudoku book, and some naice shower gel in the airport later. And possibly a couple of minis of gin or wine...(and a carton of milk for my tea as the corner shop in Brussels will be closed before I arrive). I even have a pack of 2 chocci biccies for with my tea at bedtime!

BiddyPop · 10/06/2019 09:57

Airport is much later though - I have almost a full day in the office first...

Fedoratheexploreer · 10/06/2019 12:43

Ultrasound went well I think. I should get my results in the post soon. Fingers crossed they found something and I can get sorted

Mrsmadevans · 10/06/2019 18:03

Fluffy l so hope your first day went really well m'dear Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 10/06/2019 18:39

Cish well done on the Big clean and the Decluttering m'dear and the pressie for DD , excellent work ! Grin

Fluffy your flowers look gorgeous you green fingered godess Smile
Firefly Girl , great job putting some wildflowers in your allotment the bees/insects/world need the nectar and pollen Smile
DD has done her last day in WR ahhh bless her they/she cried and they told her she was welcome back anytime without even an interview , they would employ her as seasonal and then make her permanent in time so that is a huge relief Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2019 20:21

Cish, I'm loving your big clear out. If only I could get DH in on such a project!

Mrs, my first day went well, thank you. 😁 My head is slightly mashed, but I'll live. Grin

Bless your DD, Mrs. Good to know they'll have her back though, that's brill. When does she start in Cardiff?

Fedora, fx re the U/S. When do you get the results?

Biddy, busy as ever. I'm glad your DD is OK.

I've ordered a new cross stitch hoop today, a bigger one than the one I have, so that'll help with my bigger projects. I must crack on with my next projects as I'm doing Snowdog cross stitches for the kids for Christmas!

Fluffy they said I should get a letter through the post in a couple of weeks. Which seemed like quite a while to me, but hopefully that means there’s nothing too sinister!.

FireflyGirl · 10/06/2019 23:10

I posted replies to everyone and then my phone refreshed Angry

I'm not going to redo them, because I'm tired and need to get to sleep, but you'd all have been impressed how compassionate and caring I am Grin

Morning!

Firefly, I'm sure you were positively Mother Teresa! Xmas Grin

It's gone gloomy here now, apparently for the next few days. Proper growing weather (weeds especially!). Hopefully summer will arrive after that!

You wait until they get to know how brilliant you are , they will be falling over themselves to keep you happy 👍👏.l am not optimistic about us having a Summer this year tbh , perhaps it is my pain getting to me 🙄 the weather is awful here , utterly grim
🌦️🌂☔🌧️

Hope everyone has a wonderful day 💚💜🧡😁

Fedoratheexploreer · 11/06/2019 11:36

Morning ladies, loving the weather right now, it makes the house seem much cosier. We’ll be having tomato ketchup and cheesy bread for lunch when we get DS1 from nursery and then cottage pie for tea. We had to buy some waterproofs this morning as we were drenched on the school run.

Mrs it’s so nerve wracking waiting for results, I hope they figure out what’s up with your hipFlowers

EmrysAtticus · 11/06/2019 13:23

The weather today is crazy, more like November than June! In fact my brain panicked a bit because it went into autumn mode and was worried that I hadn't bought any presents Grin

Fedoratheexploreer · 11/06/2019 14:09

Emrys it feels very autumnal here too, it’s got be so excited for the cold nights.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2019 17:33

We've had dodgy weather in previous summers, so don't give up hope (and some would say it's still spring yet, until the Equinox)!

Second day done. I have to leave early tomorrow for physio, but I go in early, so that's fine!

Very, very wet here. My feet are soggy! 😭

I love working in the city centre: I just nipped to M&S on the way to the station to get some shorts for DD. Couldn't have done that at the old place. 😁

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2019 17:58

I work city centre, Fluffy. It's great until you find yourself 'just popping' on your lunch and spending a fortune...

When are you expecting to hear back about your xrays, MrsM?

I've had my winter coat back out today. It was a bit warm but not overly much to say it's June! I'm still hopeful, though.

We're looking to book a few nights in Butlins next month. I haven't been in nearly 25 years. Anyone been recently? Any tips?

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2019 18:42

It's great until you find yourself 'just popping' on your lunch and spending a fortune...

Especially with bloody Apple Pay meaning I don't even need my purse with me to spend money (though at least I'm limited to £30 per go!).

CrazyBaubles · 11/06/2019 22:10

Cish good shout on the Frozen set as the second film is out this year!

Fluffy im so jealous of your lavender plant! I nurtured one in a huge pot for a few years and then someone stole it!! It was lovely to smell and attracted loads of bees.

Fingers crossed those of you waiting for results get some soon.

It's been like winter here and I've been enjoying it. I have embarked on a new diet 🙄 and the weather has meant the dog walk route we use had been deserted so no one has seen me attempting to run!

I'm still crocheting my nativity but I have such little time that it's really slow going.
I'm shattered with all the new exercise and reduced calories. Think thin & healthy thoughts for me please 🤞

Mrsmadevans · 11/06/2019 22:15

Evening all Smile
Firefly girl , l am still waiting , they told me that it could take 2-3 weeks. I have great news on the physio however l have a cancellation for this Thursday at 3pm so l am really glad about that l can tell you Smile
I am not surprised you have worn your winter coat today, we have put the heating on too Hmm it's freezing here , supposed to be down to 8 degrees C tonight Shock
Fluffy , what was your second day like m'dear? It sounds as if you had a good day and you sound upbeat over the weather and your work location too Grin ! YAY!
Emrys l went to TKMax and bought a lovely blue linen dress for a tenner , l am being optimistic aren't l given how bad the weather has been with us today! lol It has been dire today with us today!
