New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Mrs touch wood, nothing untoward has happened since (although I did lose DH’s pyjamas shorts and then found them in a place I had already looked, but I think that’s just a bit of mum brain).

Gheko oh lord them dreams terrify me, I always get worried I’ll have night terrors and if I did I don’t know what I’d do. I’d be petrified. Your pup is gorgeous, she’s going to be huge, look at them paws!. Our dog is 2 and still doesn’t know how to catch, or do any tricks for that matter. He’s a lot like a cat, whereas our cat comes on walks with us and acts like a dog.

Fluffy neither of us are that deep sleepers and I’d definitely stir if DH or DS were out of bed. Lord knows what it was.

I’m having a bath now, very late for me. But oh well, had a lovely day with my cousin. DS1 really likes his school which I’m very happy about. I haven’t got much to do tomorrow, but then Saturday we’re going to visit DH’s grandparents and Sunday we’re going to my mums. Then I have an ultrasound on Monday to see what’s going on with my stomach, so hopefully that gets sorted.

PJMasksGhekko · 07/06/2019 08:00

Fedora the dreams are awful, I think I wake up nearly screaming then I get out of bed, then I seem to wake up and say to myself, what the bloody hell am I doing and go back bed, but I'm shaking, awful feeling.

She loves her ball, that's all she wants over the field, she'll say hello to other dogs but comes straight back to me (most of the time), she does paw, high five, and slowly getting there with roll, although she takes that as a sign to get very excited and it all goes to pot Grin

Hopefully nothing too serious with your stomach.

Food shop today, DD2 has a birthday party tomorrow, and I have started my Nintendo switch fund on TopCashBack, virgin mobile give £70 back, and if it's a samsung they also give £50 cashback.

HairsprayBabe · 07/06/2019 10:45

DSD is obsessed with our Switch it is all she wants to do when she is over - but we are mean and only let her have an hour or so on Sunday after lunch.

She gets plenty of screen time at her mums and the optician has told us she needs to spend more time outside as her eyes have developed short sightedness from too much up close indoor activities - reading too close to her face etc.

Its tricky because we both love gaming our selves and would happily play PS4 all day... but I guess we get to make that choice being grownups and all!

PJMasksGhekko · 07/06/2019 13:21

Yes we do Hairspray Grin

CrazyBaubles · 07/06/2019 14:05

Woolly I hope yesterday went as well as it could and you had a nice catch up with your siblings 💐

Hairspray Driving is hard so good on you for learning! I found it a little overwhelming as there's so much to concentrate on.

Thanks for the mitten praise MrsMad 😊 I was so proud when I realised how much my nephew wore them (DSIS sent me pics of him wearing them in bed because he didn't want to take them off 😂).

Ghecko I'm another fan of top cash back. DH and I have recently swapped insurance (home and car) and energy suppliers and received good bonuses. We use it for everything and the cash back goes in our holiday fund.
Your puppy is gorgeous by the way!

Fedora how odd about your door! DH sleepwalks when he's very stressed (his main trick is to take his pillow and sleep in / next to the bath or go to the kitchen and empty cupboards on to the worktops 🙄 ) I tend to catch him now and guide him back to bed but it's a pain in the arse so I hope you haven't started sleepwalking!

I think I may be the odd one out as gaming hasn't ever appealed to me. We had a wii and played mariokart but got bored quickly and sold it.

It is really grey and drizzly here. I quite like it as DH is out with his dad tonight so I'll be able to have a cosy night in with heating on and watching whatever I want (am re-watching Sherlock and Silent Witness while crocheting my nativity at the mo). I'm even planning to treat myself to a steak tea 🥩😋

NoWordForFluffy · 07/06/2019 14:43

You all neglected to count down! 😂😂

Busy day here. It's my last Friday off as I change jobs on Monday, so have at least 6 months of Fridays to do now!

I've been to school, to get bits from various shops, to the allotment, to town to collect stuff and have lunch with DH, and now back home before the school run again!

I was going to go back to the allotment, but it's raining so won't bother now! I'll go on Sunday. 😁

Evening everyone Smile
My bloody leg/sciatica/irritable hip whatever it is please God don't let it be something terrible mind this is bad enough is killing me!
I am resorting to 4 x 30mg/500mgs Cocodamol a day , l don't like taking them because of the addiction risk/constipation/drowsiness but it is the only thing that helps. I have tried so much already , don't talk to me about Amytriptyline, Hmm I know you are not affected by it Fluffy but the bloody stuff made me feel like my heart was coming out of my chest & worse than that suicidal! I mean how can something that is supposed to be helping you make you feel suicidal! Anyway l am waiting for the results of the damn xrays , l can't wait ! I bet they will say they can't find anything!

NoWordForFluffy · 07/06/2019 18:21

Oh no, Mrs. That's awful. I hope you're better soon.

I have to say that amitriptyline has bugger all effect on me really. It's not that great for pain relief either, just take the edge off! Though when I forgot to take them I got a massive headache. Odd!

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 07/06/2019 18:22

PJ l can well believe you haven't heard of THIEF Grin
I am talking about at least 15 years ago lol
Fluffy , fancy these gels here not doing the countdown tsk tsk Grin
they obvs don't realise what an honour it is to do it Grin
YAH BOO SUCKS to no more Fridays off Fluffy but l know you will love the challenge the new job brings you . Good luck m'dear Flowers
Crazy, your afternoon sounds perfect l wish l could do the nativity too , it looked so lovely Smile. The sun has just come out here and if l tell you my Mum had her heating on all day you won't be a bit surprised Grin it's cold !
Fedora hope your tum is ok m'dear and no more doors open! or dreams !Smile
Hairspray babe have you got a Switch and a PS4 m'dear . DDS have a PS4 each and a Macbook but they don't seem to use it as much now , they are on their phones all the time, Snapchat & Whatsapp which l don't use ever Hmm l haven't got the memory for them!
Am just off to Mum's again, been there for hours this morning and going back now, she has been poorly today , terrible tummy pain , l think it's her IBS playing up again.
Have a lovely evening everyone Smile

Mrsmadevans · 07/06/2019 18:25

Fluffy that is weird you getting a headache from not taking the blasted things , l think they must be evil, evil ,evil ,terrible things to make me feel suicidal, they must be the Narcissists of the drug cupboard Grin

Fedoratheexploreer · 07/06/2019 18:49

Ghekko I can’t imagine how horrible it is, my mum got them when I was little and they really scared her. Your pup sounds lovely and so clever! Our dog never understood any tricks and we tried hard, we just let him do his own thing now.

Baubles I have been stressed recently so maybe I am sleepwalking!. Nothing has happened since so I’ll just have to move on. Gaming has never appealed to me either, I just don’t understand it.

Fluffy I hope you enjoy your new job, how exciting!.

Mrs I hope you start feeling better soon. My stomach should be fine, just have really bad stomach pains and acid reflux and irritable bowel has been ruled out so this is the next step. I’m expecting them to say they thing everything is fine and I’ll just have to carry on watching what I eat but that makes no difference.

The rains been terrible here today, it’s stopped now so we’re quickly walking the pets before it starts again. Then it’s bath and bed for the boys and me, I can’t wait to get some sleep!.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/06/2019 19:00

It's chucking it down here too, and set to all night.

I bet you're knackered, Fedora.

Fedoratheexploreer · 07/06/2019 19:14

Fluffy I truly am. I don’t know why I am so much this week though, I think I just haven’t been able to drift off because of doorgate😂. We’ve had a busy week this week too, and DS2 has been an absolute terror.

EmrysAtticus · 07/06/2019 20:27

Hail here!

Don't be an April fool, get your Easter eggs in a row and countdown to Christmas Thread 3
FireflyGirl · 07/06/2019 22:21

That's exciting, Emrys!

Just raining here, but because it's so warm the water isn't getting very deep. My plants are struggling, but the weeds are thriving Hmm

We've just finished watching Chernobyl. Was a really good series. I don't watch a lot of popular series, but really enjoyed it. There were a lot of little touches that really added to it.

The guy who plays Bill in Mamma Mia is in it. Speaking of - I made the mistake of drinking half a bottle of wine before watching Mamma Mia 2 the other week - it was carnage 😭😭

How did your last day go, Fluffy?

Hope you're feeling better soon MrsM Flowers

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2019 07:55

200

Morning!

It's still very wet here. I may need a boat! 😂

Firefly, I had to go home ill on my last day as the no windows / harsh lights combination was giving me daily headaches, but it was a migraine on Thursday! I'd finished all of my work by 11.30 though, so I had nothing to do anyway.

I don't really fancy Chernobyl. I think it's one of those things I won't be able to watch post-kids. A whole raft of things have been removed from stuff I watch! 🙈😂

I thought I'd booked the cinema for me and the kids today, but it's actually next Sat. Fail. So now we're also going today. Lucky me (it's my penance!).

Woolly, I forgot to say: not only did DD see the sea on her school trip, the tide was in! 😱 Rare occurrence.

BiddyPop · 08/06/2019 09:32

Morning, sunshine here. Rain earlier this week caused a leak at sewerage works, so no swimming or boating for a week, so Cubs is a land based session this morning instead. Although DH is reading about a lifeboat lost in France in the bad weather, sad news but shows the dedication of lifeboatmen and women to rescue others.

Going to get ahead with some sewing later, as DH is taking dd away to an event for tomorrow, and I have about 30 hours of peace!🤪 Love them both, but oh, bliss!

Although I STILL have to get DH to sit down with me to book flights - we cannot seem to get 20minutes together....

Mrsmadevans · 08/06/2019 18:14

Evening everyone Smile
Fluffy l know exactly what you mean re Chernobyl Sad and other programmes like it . My Dd1 is telling me l have to watch Killing Eve tonight she says it is amazing ! Smile Thank God your new workplace has winders! Yay! Grin Hope you enjoyed the pics today Grin
Biddy that is so sad re the French Lifeboatmen , DH was telling me this morning about it , they are so brave every time they launch their lifeboat they are in such danger Sad. Are these the flights for your Christmas away or your Summer hols? It is you and yours who are going away for Christmas or have l got that completely wrong ? Blush Enjoy your 30 hrs peace m'dear Smile
Have made a cottage pie for tea tonight, so we will have that with some crusty cheese bread , l didn't put too much mash on the top so it should be Yummy , fingers x. l am looking forward to it Grin
Leg is just awful all the time now. l am thinking it may be what my Brother had , Spinal Stenosis he had to have 2 ops for it. l do hope not Hmm keep it all crossed for me m'dears Smile
Would have been my Dad's 89th birthday tomorrow , my Dsis and my Mum are totally OTT about it , Mum is buying a wreath like monstrosity from the florists and paying through the nose for it and my Sister is sharing it although Mum is paying Hmm. I am not doing anything because just like the OTT funeral they organised for him he would have hated any fuss at all. He hated his birthday , Christmas, Easter , Father's day you name it he hated it , so l am going to honour him in the way l know he would like to be remembered and do nothing ! Grin

Mrsmadevans · 08/06/2019 18:26

Firefly Girl thank you my dear , l haven't watched Mama Mia 2 but can imagine the aftermath of watching it after a half bottle of wine l don't even need that as an excuse Grin
Emrys , l am not that far from you but we didn't have hail lol Grin just torrential rain and l mean torrential lol Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2019 18:31

I hope you're wrong about your health concerns, Mrs. Can something like that just come on?

And you're right to step away from your mum and sister making extravagant gestures. Making they feel they're making up for something from when he was alive. Or just celebrating / commemorating in a way he wouldn't have wanted because they can now?

Killing Eve is awesome. You might want to binge watch the first series first though as this starts about 30 seconds after that one finishes.

Can you book the flights without DH, Biddy? I'd do that (though with texts to check we were both on the same page!).

It's awful when lifesavers become casualties. They're such special people.

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 08/06/2019 18:44

Fluffy . l don't know m'dear l am dreading finding out what it is but l am worried because the pain is awful and l don't think l have a low pain threshold but l may do .
My Dad would hate any fuss , it's ridiculous , if they , my family, respected him at all they would be very low key but they are all about putting on a show for others and it doesn't wash with me. I think l am more like my Dad than l realise Grin
Am glad you have seen Killing Eve l will give it a whirl Grin

FireflyGirl · 08/06/2019 18:57

I think all you can do is roll your eyes and ignore them, MrsM. It's about them, not your dad.

Fingers crossed your leg isn't anything serious 🦄 (it was going to be a crossed fingers emoji, but I found a unicorn and decided you deserve it Grin)

Hopefully you won't have any more migraines, Fluffy. What did you see at cinema?

Mrsmadevans · 08/06/2019 19:08

Firefly. Thank you for the Unicorn Grin
l know you are right , l tell everyone in front of my Mum that l am not doing anything for Dad because it is what he would want . Every man Jack of them agree with me and Mum quietly fumes in the chair glowering at me but l don't care Smile. l am not going to be untrue to his memory . Mum and my DSis like to cry and attention seek , it is like a who is most heartbroken competition between them. I keep a stiff upper lip and get on with things because that is what my Dad would want and that is what is most important to me .

sideorderofchips · 08/06/2019 19:21

Argos have released their top toys for Christmas this year

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2019 19:36

Firefly, I thought it was Wonder Park, but that's next week. So I got conned into Missing Link instead!

I'm glad you do that, Mrs. I think it's hilarious to think of your mum sitting there stewing. 😂

Ooh, Chips, I'll take a look (I hope you're OK).
