New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Mrs, my shoulder feels loads better, thank you. I think your house retains heat better than our Victorian semi. If it's not sunny for a while it really suffers in temp drop.

I wanna do the Christmas cruise too!

Mrs I started gavin and Stacey on Netflix the other week, and thought it was quite short, realised they only put the Christmas specials of season 3 on. I really enjoyed it though.

Both the boys are in bed. I have a busy day tomorrow, I have to take my nan to a couple of appointments tomorrow, then take the dog to the vets for injections, DS1 has swimming lessons after nursery and then MIL is coming over for tea. I’m going to get an early night, after love island.

Hi can I join? I don't really get Christmassy until i get my vouchers in November, but I would love to chat.
4 kids, eldest being nearly 23 and youngest 5 in July, i work every weekend in the local mental health hospital, which I enjoy, just hate working every weekend. I do the odd bank HCA shift on there too and would love to quit permanent position for more HCA shifts.
We also have a 6 month old Border Collie puppy who I walk 3 times a day.

I need an early night really, Fedora, as I slept badly last night too and it's catching up with me tonight!

I won't make it to the end of the film, but we have it in DVD, so it matters not.

We loved the Netflix film last year, hopefully they'll do another good one.
Dd2 has been asleep since 8, this is unheard of, she doesn't like to go sleep early

Morning!

Finally the rain has stopped! I reckon our reservoirs will be topped up to the brim after yesterday's non-stop rain. Our garden water butt is full, but I'm not sure about the allotment one as it only has the roof from the shed to fill from so takes longer. It'll have helped though. 😁

You can feel how happy the plants are having had a good watering!

I went out and collected a load of snails to put them in the green bin this morning. It's good to keep them away from the plants. Though we had a frog in the garden at the weekend, so I imagine that ate a few slugs etc, which is helpful. 🐸

I'm hoping DH will go to the allotment for me today to collect the weeds I pulled at the weekend and also run the hoe around too.

Anyhow...I'm on the train for another full day at work. Sigh.

The puppy is called Misstori, and will be lovely when she stops biting us.

I picked up a few Christmas bargains in our local charity shops yesterday - brand new set of 3 bath bombs in the shape of polar bears, some beautiful silk ties, a lovely floral tin that I will use as the base for one of my hampers and one of those boxes with tiny squares of paper in to keep next to the phone with a robin on the front.

spent about £4 so very pleased with that lot!

I make a hamper for my dad every year and tried to upgrade him to a gift box 2 years ago and a wicker basket last year - he was a bit disappointed and has asked me to go back to a cardboard box covered in wrapping paper (which I used to do as a child). It's quite sweet but makes a Pinterest worthy result quite unlikely!

I'm so glad you all like the Christmas cruise idea. Me and Dfriend invited our OHs but neither were particularly keen so it'll just be us two

I'm in work but giving myself an early finish today so roll on 3pm!!

Have been up to Mum's and now watching 27 dresses
DD has just agreed to take the train to Cardiff for her new job which l am truly grateful for , the commute to Cardiff in the car is horrendous . We would be worried to death about her specially in the Winter , l know, we are daft

I’m a little bit freaked out. DH locked up last night, he definitely did-I checked. We came downstairs this morning and the back door is wide open, no sign of forced entry, no windows open, nothing taken. Got on with the rest of the day not thinking about it and then dog got over to next doors garden so went to get him back and our back gate is open which it never is. It’s proper freaked me out, if anybody was in my house I’d definitely have woke up as I’m extremely light sleeper and the dog would’ve barked. I don’t know what to think.

fedora yes it really is a great age. The door open is very strange. Im sure there is a reasonable explination. Ive also noticed the christmas topic seems to have had a busy few days.

Thank you Mrsmad its really coming along. Ive a long way to go there but each completed task is really clearing my mind. I cant wait to decorate next month. Sorry to hear your having trouble with your hip.

crazy i love your mittens. Christmas planner here is just a notebook. emrys ds was never into toys either, he loves things for the bath though like bath paint soap( avon) those cackle and jelly bath things and water beads. Would anything like that be somethinh he would like?
