New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Thank you for the welcome back everyone. It is funny how as soon as the weather gets hotter we all start thinking about Christmas [santa]

DH and I are good thanks crazy, he has really taken on board how wrong what he did was and we are much more open about money now.

I am at a loss for DS tbh. Obviously he could change a lot by Christmas but he currently has no interest in toys whatsoever and just wants to play superheros with sticks he finds in parks! He is an age where he will want presents to unwrap but I have no idea what to get him, help please!!!!!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2019 20:36

How old is he, Emrys?

DS gets loads of Batman stuff and he (and DD) was given a superhero cape and mask which they bloody love, though they were cheap, apparently.

Duplo did some Batman stuff until recently. Do you think he might get into something like this if it linked to the superhero theme?

He is 3 fluffy and dress up could be a good shout! At the moment he literally only plays with sticks, shoelaces, forks, straws, yo-yos and swords. All of which we have plenty of Grin

I have just got his PJs for his CEB however as I found some lovely ones from an ethical company at 50% off so I grabbed them while I could :) I think I am ok for his stocking too it's just the main present I am stumped on. Will perhaps try him with some dress up out somewhere and see if he is keen.

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/06/2019 21:05

DS loved dressing up stuff and I have lovely memories of him dressed in a Batman suit the entire time during the Christmas we spent at Center Parcs when he was about 5. He had to lift the mask up every time he took a bite of his Christmas dinner. 😂

CrazyBaubles · 03/06/2019 21:07

Emrys I'm glad you're on track (and back on the thread)!

Are you crafty? I made some superhero gloves for my nephew a few years ago - did it as a challenge for me and he wore them constantly.
If not, I'm sure eBay / car boot sales / charity shops are your friend here - dnephew switches from superhero's to wrestling suddenly (about a month before his birthday) and dsis found loads of stuff by shopping that way and she donated all her superhero stuff to charity shops

Woolly, DS is like that with Batman! My parents have bought him a new fancy dress outfit for his birthday!

Morning!

It's a grey and gloomy day here. It's meant to rain, but the forecasts differ as to how much and when! I've no idea how they interpret the same data so differently. Confused

We lost a few chilli / pepper plants which blew over and got decapitated in the wind yesterday. Boo!

Have a lovely day everyone. 😁

Morning everyone. Just got DS1 into nursery. Now on the way to play group with DS2, he was up in the night quite a lot last night so we’re both knackered, but I’m hoping that if I tire him out enough today we’ll get some sleep tonight.

Welcome back Viva and Hairspray. I’m glad the wedding planning is going well hairspray and you’re still on budget. My main tip is just enjoy the day, and don’t bother too much about everyone else.

Fluffy it’s the same here, but it’s cooler than it has been which is a great relief.

BiddyPop · 04/06/2019 10:56

Those who want rain, I can say you should expect lots as it has been constant, and heavy!, on the other side of the Irish Sea all morning. At least the rain butt should now be full and the plants happy.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2019 11:09

We're quite close to you, Biddy, so imagine it'll hit soon!

OP posts:
EmrysAtticus · 04/06/2019 11:13

Thanks for the warning biddy :) I don't have any washing out so it can rain as much as it likes.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2019 11:14

I could do without rain in the Liverpool area this week. I've got a trip to the cemetery to lay Mum to rest and I'm struggling to find something suitable to wear without factoring rain into the equation Confused

BiddyPop · 04/06/2019 11:33

[hugs] Woolly, I'm sorry to hear that, I totally missed it. Sending you a massive metaphorical brolly to keep you dry Flowers (Can you wear a pair of sensible practical shoes for the cemetary part and have your shoes to match your outfit for the church and wake - leave the practical ones in a bag in the car?)

EmrysAtticus · 04/06/2019 11:46

So sorry to hear of your loss woolly Flowers

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2019 11:46

Thanks Biddy this is just the interment of her ashes - the actual funeral was last year. There will be sensible shoes and probably tights looking at the rather grim weather forecast.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2019 11:49

Thank you Emrys. This will probably be quite enjoyable once the cemetery part is done. I'll be going out for lunch with all my brothers and sisters and it'll be great to catch up.

EmrysAtticus · 04/06/2019 11:51

Ah I hope you have a lovely time with your siblings and have a change to share memories of your mum.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2019 11:53

I hope it perks up a bit for you. Getting wet is no fun at the best of times.

Very gloomy today. Quite dark in the house.....like in October/November.....like when I already have fairy lights everywhere!

Its only a few days until its 100 days till the 100 day Christmas countdown.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2019 18:03

DH has had to put the heating on today as it's so wet and cold! We need sun on the house to keep it at a liveable temp!
