New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Morning!

Hi Lavender (you won't lose that name!). Nice to see you. Was it FiL problems you had where he refused to buy something he'd promised? I hope it's sorted anyway.

It's been properly raining here. Nice and steady for a few hours before we got up. Hurrah! I love rain now I have the allotment!

We bought a colour-in cardboard castle for Christmas but it was a present too far. We're just about to get it out to entertain the kids for at least today, if not most of half term!

Crazy, how did the crocheting go?

Fluffy Yep that’s meGrin everything is sorted with him and we’re now just looking forward to Ezra coming along.

It’s grey and cloudy here but no rain yet. It rained when I was falling to sleep last night which was lovely.

CrazyBaubles · 26/05/2019 15:11

Welcome back Lav 👋

Fluffy love your allotment pics!
I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to be a gardener. We have some wildflowers at the front and while I'm happy they attract bees and butterflies, they have also been attracting other crawlies that I just can't handle (have been made to clear spider webs from across the path every morning and there were ladybirds there yesterday)

Crochet is a little haphazard (and delayed as I went out unexpectedly last night).

I decided to make an assortment of things to go on a wreath (holly leaves & berries, Christmas tree, stars, snowflakes) but I think I need to make an actual plan or it's going to look disjointed, so that's my plan for this evening.

Mrsmadevans · 26/05/2019 20:45

Evening everyone Smile
Fluffy your allotment is looking amazing m'dear Smile well done!
The colouring in castle sounds a great idea espesh if it is rainy bank holiday Smile

Just off to watch Vera after Antiques Roadshow Smile
Have a lovely bank holiday everyone Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 26/05/2019 22:51

Evening!

The castle was a hit, mostly with DD, but they spent time colouring it and then playing in it! DS also did a load of jigsaws, as is his wont.

We walked to the supermarket this afternoon as it brightened up enough for a BBQ (we had to eat indoors though as it was rather windy).

I've spent the day doing a cross stitch. I had wanted to get it done for Mother's Day, but failed due to my arm. I'll probably give it for next year's birthday now as it's not really a Christmas design!

Crazy, gardeners need ladybirds, don't diss them!

Mrs, I hope you enjoyed Vera. 😁

Crazy let us know how your wreath plans go! I love a good wreath.

Mrs I know, last time I was here I was only half way through and this time next month he could very well be on his way!. I hope you enjoy Vera.

Fluffy I’m glad you had a nice day out. The cross stitching looks great.

We didn’t do much today, spent most of it in the garden as the weather was gorgeous. We’ll be going into town tomorrow to get the last bits we need and we’re going to watch rocketman which I can’t wait for!. Have a good night all.

Morning! It's a dull, windy morning today. It's spitting a bit in the wind, but the washing will dry as the wind will override the wet!

Woolly, when are you up this way?

I could do with going to the allotment today to finish the weeding, but not sure I can face it as I stayed awake for the results last night! It'll wait til Friday, I suppose. 😂

What are people's bank holiday plans?

Morning all i thought i had been awol from the thread for ages but it appears its only been about 10 days. Anyway im just popping on to say a quick hello and hope everbody is well.

Im hoping to finish off today and then the big deep clean can begin. I had no idea we had so much rubbish and im agog at how we fitted it all in the house but onwards and upwards.

Awwww. Cute!

I've done nothing today, other than some colouring in (the cardboard castle) and baking. It's been lovely!

Lovely dog MrsMad

I'm travelling tomorrow Fluffy. Anfield tour on Wednesday and hopefully a trip to the World Museum on Thursday. Have to be back home for the CL final on Saturday (and I'm getting my roots done).

I'm doing it all again next week for mum's interment but staying with my sister. Will be lovely to see my siblings again but very sad at the same time.

My friend loved her nativity.

Morning!

I've no idea what day it is today! 😂 I'm always thrown by the bank holiday. I spent yesterday convinced it was Sunday (not helped by the fact we had our roast yesterday as it was bumped from Sunday in favour of a BBQ!).

It looks like it's meant to be nice today, now we've just had a shower.

I'll be - artificially - busy today thanks to not working yesterday. That's something at least!

I hope your trip is smooth, Woolly. And yay to your friend loving the nativity (she'd have been made not to!).

Fluffy ❤️ seems we are down to the bare boards on the thread again so you are getting a heart too because l don't want to leave you out 🤗 have a great faux busy day m'dear, grit those 😬🦷
Better shift see you LTR l am sure 😁😘
Am taking Mum to have her ears tested .... AGAIN 🙄
Can't see the point myself but there you go 😁

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2019 18:18

Afternoon!

I forgot to say: I've spent my first Nectar points of the year on my delivery on Thursday, buying my mincemeat ingredients. I'll try to get it made this weekend. DH and I can't wait for the smell in the house as it's amazing!

We are alone this Christmas as my in-laws are going away, so I won't need to go mad with food (though I probably will a bit) and I won't be making everything I did last year as there's no real point when the kids don't eat much of it. I'll still make some sweet treats, but not the savoury stuff.

All of this means my points will go further on double up booze!

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 28/05/2019 19:35

Evening everyone Smile
Fluffy that will smell lovely and you are really starting to get ready for Christmas ! I suppose it is gathering pace quite suddenly. Here we are nearly in June and only 30 weeks and 2 days to go it is going like the clappers Grin
They have a 20% off on Tesco this weekend for staff , my Mum used to work for them and has a retired staff member card, l am tempted to get a few bits in but then again they do have them a couple of times a year . I will have a look at the wine and the booze. You have reminded me re the Nectar shop Fluffy Smile well done m'dear .
Grin EVERY LITTLE HELPS

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2019 20:17

I wasn't planning much til the in-laws said they were going away on CD itself and I needed to think about what we were doing and when to fit in around this. It means we've had to shelve DH's 40th birthday trip away to Aviemore, but it just doesn't really work, sadly.

I'd go and have a nose at Tesco, Mrs. You might find something perfect in there!

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 28/05/2019 20:42

30 weeks today is Christmas Eve! Eek!

Hope you're doing okay after your hoo-ha with your DM Mrs. Hopefully she's realised how much you have done and still do for her.

Your friend is very lucky, Woolly. What a beautiful gift.

I used to shop at Aldi until I started my new job last June and then it was easier to get it delivered. I used Morrisons, and saved their £5 vouchers, but they have changed their delivery system now. Instead of orders coming from the warehouse in Leeds, they now come from a local store (in a predominantly white, middle-class town). Last week, I couldn't order a chicken-in-a-bag (I can't cook chickens otherwise, they end up being under-cooked for some reason), lemons or onions. The more ethnic foods that made up about 1/3 of my shopping aren't available anymore (including dairy-free naan breads for DH). I am not happy hence the rant.

We've been planning an extension, and I was hoping we might get the shell up by Christmas to have everyone round, but I think I may be being overly optimistic now!

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2019 21:04

30 weeks?! Eek! 🎅🏻 Xmas Grin

I hate it when online shopping stops working. We generally shop at Aldi now, but Sainsbury's give us money off vouchers if we only use them every few weeks, so I tart about!

I'm not sure you'll manage the extension this year, Firefly. Maybe next year!

Morning!

Another day of tedium today...it's depressing and soul-destroying. Even my (falsely) busy day yesterday saw me done by lunch time. But, early dart today as I have physio, so need to leave just before 4 to get there. Light relief!

Woolly, enjoy Anfield today (there should be a good atmosphere in the build up to the weekend!).

Mrs, I hope your mum is OK and there's progress on the water-fixing front.

Cish, isn't it amazing how much stuff we manage to hoard for no real purpose? DH is terrible for that, especially!

OP posts:
Fedoratheexploreer · 29/05/2019 14:28

Hi can I join?. DS1 turns 4 next month and we think this will be the first year that he really understands so we are trying to make it as magical as possible for him and I’m getting ever so excited because it feels like Christmas is becoming exciting again.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/05/2019 16:43

Fedora, my DS is a July baby, and 4 (last year) was when he did truly 'get' it and wasn't just dragged along on DD's coat tails (she's 13 months' older).

And I feel like that now we have kids. It's great, isn't it? Xmas Grin

OP posts:
Fedoratheexploreer · 29/05/2019 16:50

Fluffy We have DS2 who only just turned 1 so he won’t get it for a good few years yet, but it’s so exciting for DS1 to finally understand Santa and have the excitement again. It’s greatGrin

Mrsmadevans · 29/05/2019 17:11

Afternoon all Smile
Been up to Mums to take her for a haircut and blow dry then to the Dr's for her legs , Dr is going to keep an eye on her for now , have another appt in 2 weeks so we shall see Hmm
Firefly Girl, the row with Mum blew over but it did make her see sense and now l only do days and my DD1 does 3 nights , my sister is calling up at 9 to check she is ok before bed. My sister does not like doing this and she will soon give up on it Hmm. She actually tried to get my DD1 to do 3 nights and days and l was not having that at all Hmm .
I get your disappointment re the deliveries, our Tesco now delivers the orders from Ebbw Vale and they never have the offers in stock there Hmm
Fluffy hope your day isn't too boring m'dear Smile Have a good sess with the physio too , Mum had Welsh Water there today and it seems they will take another 2 weeks Hmm . I can't bear it there tbh it really gets to me the rushing sound of the water is so annoying Smile
Anyway onward and upwards , DD2 has an interview with the WRU today for a Debenture Administrator whatever that is Grin, she loves Rugby so much it would be her dream job love her Smile
Better shift , DD1 is picking a row with DH for what seems no reason but she is tired , poor thing, she wants to go and do what l have been doing today that will tire her out Grin
