New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

I was talking at DH about Christmas decorations (in May , yes ) namely the Tree .

I have all my glass baubles on the tree , some are over 20 years old , I kept them in the attic when my DC were little and started using them again when they were old enough.

I bought a lovely Pre-Lit last year and some sets of lights as an add on.

But .....this year it won't be safe to use the glass baubles with the new cats . And they love chasing the laser light so they'll have a field day with the lights . My tree is going to be a tad minimal this year .

DH said "Ask MumsNet , they'll know" ( ManSpeak for Don't ask me in May )

I got some lovely material Christmas decorations from eBay the other year, 70, Gisela Graham ones. Also lots of Scandi wooden ones. Would they be safer?

Sorry 70 when we had cats they used to sleep in the Christmas tree. I had less trouble with toddlers.

Lobby, good girl don't worry about it and never say never because our circumstances change and you may have a sibling for Joshua yet you just never know . Life brings us many surprises
Have you thought about putting a loft conversion in later on that could be the answer ?
There are ways around it also they can share for a lot of years you know so don't fret

70 we had a kitten one year and he dragged the tree down five times until we just gave up. He was a real horror. He didn't even like us , l realised when he would rather hide behind the sofa instead of sitting by us and having a cuddle . I called him Spiky , it was most apt

Am so happy the canal garden , the welcome to Yorkshire garden won the peoples vote at Chelsea, it was tremendous , we all voted for it here

Mrs I’m definitely not ruling anything out, we have a big enough garden for an extension if need be. But as far as we have planned Joshua will be our only one. I’m so excited now, 11 weeks left!!

Lobby, when you hold Joshua in your arms you will know it gets to you and they are adorable

Happy Rudolph Day

Not sure if I am doing any Christmas Planning but I might have another sort through the cupboards in the kitchen.
DD had a polar bear mug with a lid but it was handwash (I'm far too lazy for that) I put it in the Charity Shop , it is pretty and hopefully someone with love it.

Might make some cakes or something over the weekend (to get into practice )

Have a nice Bank Holiday.

I have washing ready to go out.
DH is on hand to catch the cats before I sneak outside .

MrsMad Any news on the water leak today? I really hope they don't try and charge your poor mum for all the wasted water!

😱 at the thought we may have to dig out the roots of the weeds. Thank goodness the big garden is DHs responsibility! I think he's going chop it all down, burn the cuttings then tarp the whole thing for a while then assess the state of things. My landlord told me the soil here is very clay heavy, not sure what difference that will make?

My friend is currently awaiting the birth of her baby via a surrogate and she's not going to be anything other than a 'proper' mum.

70 I would second getting some fabric / wooden decs for this year. Or (not to everyone's taste) but we have a white wire tree that looks like a twiggy one. It has built in lights on each branch and you can hang some baubles but I can't imagine it would be too interesting for cats. I'll see if I can dig out a pic - it's what I use if we're going away for Christmas that year.

It's lovely and sunny here but my neighbour is receiving a big building supply delivery so there's been a loud lorry running right outside since 8ish!

Plan is to go for breakfast then get a few things done around the house. Food shopping is being delivered later so quiet day here..will hopefully get some Christmas crochet done later

I've been at the allotment this morning. I cleared another sack of weeds! It's like Groundhog Day with the weeding! Sigh.

My runner beans which looked like they'd died have done a Lazarus on me. 😁

It was sunny this morning but it's spitting now. We're meant to have proper rain in the early hours which I'm pleased about.

We're off to the pier for a wander on DD's request (2nd longest in the U.K., I think.
