New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Morning!

We aren't a Eurovision household here, Mrs, but I hope you enjoyed it! Who won?

Yesterday I also ended up sweeping the garden and on my hands and knees cleaning the kitchen and bathroom floors. The steam mop died, so I had to do it manually, which was a bit rubbish. The mop must've been dying for ages as the floors weren't very clean at all. They are now (and a new steam mop is coming tomorrow!).

Today we've had haircuts and are off to plant our pumpkin plants at the allotment too. I want to sow our wildflower seeds too, so we'll see what happens there! Other than that we have no real plans today. It's dry but breezy / a bit chilly, so no incentive to spend too long at the allotment! 😂

Hi can I join the countdown? It’s my boys first Christmas this year so I’m very excited and counting down the days already

hewontstopshitting · 19/05/2019 13:29

Mrs did you see Madonna, I love her but her voice was shocking!.

Fluffy yay to new steam mop! I love getting new cleaning products.

lobster Welcome! How old is your little boy?

we’re having a lazy day today, I’ve started the series lucifer. Not sure how I feel about it so far.

flapjackfairy · 19/05/2019 17:52

Hello all.
I have been ignoring Christmas so far this year but today cannot deny the urges any longer. I am totally in the mood for a Christmas boost. I need to watch a Christmas film and generally wallow in a bit of Christmas magic. No idea why unless it is the dingy weather . Anyone else ?
I will now don my hard hat and await the onslaught when this hits the active board !
And yes I do know it is only May !

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2019 18:15

Afternoon everyone Grin
Welcome Lobster Smile
Been up Mum's for a long time again today Hmm she had visitors again, 3 days in a row , l don't mind at all but the visitors don't know when to go home. Friday morning guest came at 10 left at half 12 not so bad, yest guest came at 10 left at half 2 , todays came at ten left at quarter to 2 Shock . I honestly don't mind and l am so glad she is having ppl there but but but l have to wait hand foot and finger on the lot of them!
At least it isn't nights as well now thank God Hmm
Hewont , we watched Eurovision , the winning song was quite nice and at least the awful band from Iceland didn't win Hmm .Mads was awful , she is not aging well at all imho, the eye patch and the costumes were so done before.... yawn.....it smacks of desperation to stay young and it looks very ....AGING! [GRIN]
Lucifer meh not seen it now if you mean Luther then OMG fill your boots ! Grin
Fluffy we are watching Chelsea , the Yorkshire garden is absolutely gorgeous we love it and to be honest the gardens look much more old fashioned from what we have seen so far , much prefer the old cottage garden look Smile love it!

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2019 18:17

Flap , fill your boots m'dear , enjoy your Christmas wallow Xmas Grin

flapjackfairy · 19/05/2019 18:28

Thanks Mrs . I am trying to persuade my daughter to watch White Christmas or the snowman and the snow dog with me but she is just rolling her eyes and sighing !

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2019 19:13

Grin @Flap , can't you bribe her ? lol

lostlobster · 19/05/2019 19:24

HeWont He’s due 9th Aug! Eek!!

Mrs I watched Eurovision and couldn’t for the life of me understand the point in that eyepatch!. My younger sisters were watching it with me too and we’re scared of her😂

Flapjack you sound like me. Me and my other half went for a walk yesterday when it was cloudy and cold and I wanted to get home put the decs up an watch the polar express😂 he’d never let me. I just have to put all that energy into decorating the nurseryGrin

NoWordForFluffy · 19/05/2019 19:28

Afternoon!

I've not seen Lucifer, Wontstop. I'm not sure I'll hunt it down!

Flapjack!! 👋 Hi! I've not seen you about in ages.

Hi to Lobster. How old will your DS be at Christmas?

Mrs, I bet you're knackered. It's not fair for you to have to keep playing host all of the time. Exhausting!

We've been to the allotment and put the pumpkins in the ground today. And done more weeding. It's never ending! Our strawberries are coming on nicely there. We'll have silly amounts of them this year. 🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓👋

OP posts:
lostlobster · 19/05/2019 19:43

Fluffy He’ll be almost 5 months old!!. Strawberries are my favourite🍓, especially in the summer.

Wontstop I like lucifer, but only for Tom Ellis, not the plotGrin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/05/2019 19:59

I was out on Friday with DD (buying things for our new additions ) . I saw some Christmas Bargains in Sainsbury ( flour shaker , Christmas Pudding Measuring Cups, cookie cutters) and in The Range ( Advent
duvet set , snowman cups) . I was "Ooooooh"
DD was Xmas Hmm "It's May "

New additions are two lovely black cats from Cat Protection League .

So, they will need Christmas Stockings , won't they ?

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2019 21:08

Oh 70 they sound delightful and they will definitely need stockings Smile must go to the Range and Sainsburys asap how on earth did you restrain yourself? Grin
Lobster, l get that Mads is scary , she is not a naice person imho Hmm
Fluffy well done on the Pumpkins and the strawbs .
Have to do the entertaining My sister is not very nice to the visitors Hmm so they won't come when she is there she's a bit like Mads thinking about it Grin
Must go , Midsomer Murders calling , have recorded to avoid the ads Grin
Have a good night everyone Smile

Morning! Yet another lovely day here. Bit chilly for now, but should warm up.

You did well on finding Christmas stuff in shops, 70. I've not seen anything for ages! And I thought your DD was more Christmassy than that. Xmas Grin

Pictures of the cats please! 🐈

Lobster, I have two summer DC, so they were similar ages for their first Christmas. You'll have a lovely time!

OP posts:
lostlobster · 20/05/2019 11:19

70 Your DD sounds like my partner. Wow! At Christmas stuff already being in the shops, I might go up town today and have a mooch to see if I can spot any gems. What have you called your cats? They definitely need stockings, we have a little puppy and it’ll be his first Christmas too and he’ll have a stocking😁

Mrs Mads is very scary, and the whole show was especially when quack came on.

Fluffy I hope soGrin I have been worried he might be a little too young but I can’t wait. I hope this summer isn’t as hot as the last, I don’t cope with the heat at the best of times, let alone with a big belly!.

The weather is lovely here, but then will turn bad around Friday😔.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/05/2019 13:38

Oh, he'll be far too young to have any clue! But he'll be alert enough to enjoy the lights etc!

OP posts:
lostlobster · 20/05/2019 14:12

Fluffy I know he wouldn’t understand what’s happening, Father Christmas etc, but thought he might just be asleep all day. So excitedGrin

Mrsmadevans · 20/05/2019 17:07

Afternoon everyone 😁
Been busy today , dried a line of washing, went shopping, had a friend for coffee, picked up ndn off the floor , like you do 🤗 , then neighbour over the road called, his heating wasn't working so we sorted that out. I am thinking of hiring ourselves out as an official emergency elderly care team 😁

Mrsmadevans · 20/05/2019 17:13

Had to post quickly l lost 3 messages previously lol😅
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the lovely build up to Whitsun next week. I can't believe how fast the time is going. Soon be Christmas the way it is going 🎄🤶🎅Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 20/05/2019 17:47

Afternoon!

Mrs, what a productive day. I know our towels will have dried today as it's sunny and breezy, so perfect!

I had a good news email today: my new employer has changed the staff's working hours from 9-5.30 to 9.00-5.00, which is brilliant news!

Lobster, we timed dinner for DD's nap for her first Christmas as it was easier (and they were mostly predictable by then). I don't remember DS' first Christmas as well as it was only the year after. He was more the age your DS will be at that point. Poor neglected second born!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/05/2019 17:52

Xmas Grin My DD is as Christmassey as can be , as soon as Hallowe'en is over she's getting her Christmas Bedding on and demanding it be Christmas tomorrow .

I think she denied me the Christmas things because she wanted to buy the cats' things.

They are Dexter (very shy boy) and Tarot (very outgoing girl)
They are confined to barracks at the moment (for the next few weeks) to get used to us and the house .

Poppiesway1 · 20/05/2019 17:58

Lots of Harry Potter things in Aldi today for this weeks specials. Brought a wand and some craft kits to put away. Also for any quilters here; they had 5x HP fat quaters for £4.99. (Brought some for my do to make my ds a quilt for Christmas - big Harry Potter fan!)

Poppiesway1 · 20/05/2019 18:00

Sorry I posted without saying.. I do linger on these threads but rarely post until September time.. but saw the Harry Potter bits and had to come find this thread to post on for you all! Star

lostlobster · 20/05/2019 19:22

Mrs Wow, a very productive day for you. I hope you get the chance to wind down tonight.

Fluffy That’s great on the changing hours, glad that it’s easier for you. I’m hoping our little one is a good sleeper, I didn’t think about letting him have a nap whilst we had dinner so thanks for the tip. We think that DS will be our only child so I’ll only have to remember one of everything thank heavens!. I don’t think DH and I could keep more than one alive😂😂

70 I love the names!

I’ve done a fair whack today. Put the bedding and towels on the line before I went off for work, managed to get the shopping (we forgot to get shopping on Sunday, like I said, me and DH will only be allowed to keep one child alive), have finished most of the decor in the nursery and put new bedding on our bed. We’re settling down for dinner now and then I will be having a long hot soak in the shower and an early night.
