New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Heya ladies (and gents if there’s any of youse on here). I’ve been feeling weird going through the Christmas threads over the past few glorious sunny days-but around this time of year I get my Christmas head on and get so excited🤪. My DH won’t let me talk about Christmas until late November because he doesn’t like the long wait, so it’s all the same to you I’d like to let off my Christmas steam on here😂.

hewontstopshitting · 15/05/2019 08:13

Hi Dragon, welcome!

DS has been having asthma attacks quite often now, not as bad as the other day but still bad. We’re seeing the doctor today and hopefully they’ll figure out something. I just don’t understand how he can go from never having one to having them so often. It’s breaking my heart not being able to explain to him what’s happening

Mrsmadevans · 15/05/2019 17:57

Evening everyone Smile poor DD1 failed her driving test, she only had 2 minors until she got back to the test centre and had to reverse into a parking bay. She just lost it and went to pieces poor kid . Never mind it happens, just told her to book test again and not to worry Smile
Welcome Dragon Smile
Fluffy we dried 2 lines of washing today Xmas Grin
l BET you will be glad to get out of the cave too!
Hewont l hope you got somewhere with the Dr tody m'dear and Ds is better Smile
Am just taking DD1 up to stay with Mum for the night, she stayed on her own last night but is plucking my heart strings by ringing and saying she has a bad attack of arthritis. I didn't go up like l would ormlly , l told her to take 2 x cocodamols. I wanted to go but l know l musn't Hmm
We shall see Hmm
Have a lovely evening everyone it is beautiful here Smile

hewontstopshitting · 15/05/2019 18:23

Mrs Your poor DD, like you said though, just get another test and get right back on it.

DS has done okay at the doctors, they don’t seem too concerned and talked to us about potential triggers and if it carries on they will assess his medication.

Mrsmadevans · 15/05/2019 20:55

Yes totally Hewont , am just back from taking DD1 to stay with Mum for the night. My poor Mum is in a lot of pain with her knees from the fall but thankfully the squits have ended , gave her some Cocodamol for the pain. l have put plenty of Voltarol cream on and given her a lovely piece of Strawberry tart and fresh cream to eat , then sorted her out and left her with DD1 she will be fine tonight . Will pop to see her tomorrow morning. Smile
Just off to watch Forensics the real CSI on BBC2 at 9 , it is excellent, so interesting hope you are watching it Smile
Have a good night everyone Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 15/05/2019 21:06

Oh your poor DD, Mrs. Sod's law she'd done so well up to then too. Chin up and carry on!

Cocodamol should assist with bunging your DM up, thankfully!

Hi mother, welcome!

Wontstop, that's good news re your DS. You must be relieved he's doing well.

I've just done our food shop for the week using our Tesco vouchers. We don't often go really, but do when we have good vouchers! I do get rather tempted by offers sadly. 😂

motherofadragon · 15/05/2019 21:36

Thanks for the welcomeGrinGrin

Wontstop I’m very sorry to hear about your son. Asthma is rife in our family, both me, my husband and Eli have it. I totally understand the feeling of helplessness, but the docs seem to be working hard which is great. I hope you find ways to make it easier for you all❤️.

Mrs I hope your daughter isn’t too deflated, driving tests are hard!!!!. I almost failed my first one because of the nerves, it was no reflection on my driving skills. Your DM seems to be having a rough time too, I hope that strawberry tart cheered her up😁.

Fluffy Tesco is my kryptonite😂 I’ll go in for a pint of milk and come home with 10 shopping bags.

CrazyBaubles · 15/05/2019 22:28

mother You're very welcome! I get that way every so often and just a day or so ago I randomly crocheted a snowflake because I felt festive Xmas Smile

Well done on being strong MrsMad 💪
Commiserations to DD1 - but I passed second time after almost crashing due to nerves the first time and I'm a very good driver now!

And funnily enough I watched Forensics today(episode 1) as it came up as a trailer when watching Louis Theroux and it was fab.

Where do you normally good shop Fluffy? We tend to do Aldi then Tesco (but I hate going to Tesco 🙄).
Once upon a time my DM worked in Sainsbury's so we had a family discount card so shopped there. I miss it but it's bloody expensive compared to some of our other options.

I'm still sick but I slept for 10hours yesterday (and still struggled to get up this morning)! Am going to bed now - fingers crossed I don't wake myself up snoring like I did this morning Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 15/05/2019 22:56

Crazy, we're recent converts to Aldi as one has opened within walking distance of us. Then Sainsbury's is our second choice (we save our Nectar points for Christmas). Sainsbury's isn't actually dearer than Tesco when you look at pack size. Asda is cheaper a bit but quality is way worse.

Hopefully you'll come out the other side of your illness for the weekend.

motherofadragon · 15/05/2019 22:58

Thank you Crazy😁. I love Christmas crafts, I’m mulling over making a Christmas patchwork quilt this year for Elijah but I’m not sure if I’m that handy yet. Practice makes perfect thoughGrin. I’m sorry to hear that you’re ill.

Posted before l wanted to 😁
Crazy l hope you are feeling much better today sweetie ❤️
Fluffy have to confess l go anywhere to shop that is the cheapest. I use a really great shopping app called my supermarket and it is excellent. You can check the price of most things in the supermarkets.
Thank you all so much for the commiserations re DD1 driving test 😁 l am very realistic about it tbh. I know how hard it is because of the awful nerves that kick in. When I did mine the sweat was pouring off me l was in a state 🙄
Picked DD1 up from Mum's this morning , Mum had slept well so that was good 🤗
We are going to Cwmbran now for some retail therapy 😆 and to put flowers on my very best friend's grave in the crem. If my sister wasn't such a bitch l would put flowers on my Dad's too but she takes the life out of everything. I told Mum l will never put flowers on Dad's grave because of her finding fault with them. Mum said 'l understand, you don't want to put yourself out there for her to find fault '.
I wasn't going to say all that 😔
Anyway I am going to enjoy myself , now, have a great day everyone 😀

motherofadragon · 16/05/2019 10:46

Mrs I hope you enjoy your retail therapy🛍

I’m taking Elijah swimming after work today, and we might even have a Maccie D’s as a treat😁

NoWordForFluffy · 16/05/2019 13:59

Afternoon!

Another lovely day again. I'll have to water the allotment again later!

MN crashed this morning so I couldn't post. Boo!

Enjoy your retail therapy, Mrs! And your your McD's, mother!

hewontstopshitting · 16/05/2019 21:54

Mumsnet crashed for me this morning too, I didn't know it happened across the whole site.
I hope your retail therapy went well Mrs and your swimming mother.
DS has been better today but we're now having some issues with the boiler, it seems like one thing after another these days.

Mrsmadevans · 16/05/2019 22:42

Hope everyone is feeling ok tonight Smile
Retail went well Grin didn't get much tbh, just a couple of tops for Mum from Primark and a couple of prs of leggings for my Mum's NDN, who has been good as gold to Mum since Dad died. She fancied mine, so SHE'S got some now Grin. Have felt really tired the past couple of days, my sciatica has been killing me and l have been dosing up on Ibuprofen and paracetamol , so l don't know if they are making me tired or l am catching up on my sleep after nearly 8 weeks of nights up Mum's. Probably a combination Hmm.
Hewont, l am glad your DS is better today bless him, it is such a worry, sorry the boiler is playing up though , when we first moved into this house, the boiler was broken, which we didn't know Hmm We had to get BG in to sort it out. Since then we have always paid for a service and an emergency call out for repairs because we could not bear to be in the same position again . It was a nightmare !
Fluffy, it is supposed to be raining tomorrow so you won't have to bother with watering tomorrow thankfully Smile
Better get to bed have a good night everyone Smile

Morning!

I'm glad I trusted you and the forecast (even though it only said 40% chance of rain!), Mrs, and didn't water the allotment as it's rained this morning! It does prove that long range (10 day) forecasts aren't accurate as last weekend we had no sign of rain for the entire time!

We're off out to Liverpool for lunch today. The in-laws are picking the kids up from school for us so we don't have to hurry back.

Wontstop, I'm glad DS is recovering well. What's the boiler problem?

How are things with you Cish? Hope you are all ok😊

Mrsmadevans · 17/05/2019 11:13

Am up Mum's today , she has a water leak in the mains pipe and the workmen are here so l am on tea making duty 😁 have already eaten 2 Viennese whirls and a chocolate roll🤪
Seems like it's the only thing to do when you have workmen in 😬

NoWordForFluffy · 17/05/2019 11:14

I reckon so, Mrs! I hope it's fixed soon. 💦💦

Fluffy it just wouldn’t turn on no matter what we did, all is sorted now. Hopefully life will settle down a bit more now.

Morning!

Dry and warm-ish here today. I think it's meant to brighten up later.

So far I've cleaned the kitchen and hung the washing out and I'm now at the station waiting for the train into town.

Later I have to mow the lawn (DH will clear the stuff from it!) and pot on my last chillies and peppers plus my lemongrass.

Busy, busy!

I'm glad your boiler is working now, Wontstop. At least it's not in the middle of winter.
