New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

231 Morning all.

Wednesday, yey! Hoping the weather is a bit less miserable today.

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/05/2019 07:01

No hope of better weather here. The rain is hammering down and shows no sign of improvement all morning.

I'm waiting on my Wool Warehouse order that will hopefully arrive today as I need more toy stuffing. Poor Joseph is looking a little thin - but at least I've finished his gown. His hair, beard and coat are on the agenda for this afternoon/evening.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2019 08:16

It's rather wet here too today. I think the weather is meant to improve after the weekend.

I'm struggling getting up at 5.15 again; it's a killer! And I'm weaning myself back onto the cross trainer too, which is tough going. My stamina has gone!

Morning all,
It’s pretty miserable here too, cold, windy, rainy, big waves on the sea. And it was so nice last night !!

Decided on my longer commute this morning - I go backwards 5 stations on the track to get a seat (and a nice coffee - but messed the timings today so had to skip that). There is a fabulous view from high over a big open bay doing that, which really does help my soul on bad days.

hewontstopshitting · 08/05/2019 12:12

Morning everyone, I’m feeling a little better today but now seem to be coming down with a cold as does DS1. DS2 has managed to escape it all. The heavens have well and truly opened here, it’s forecasted to rain all day, so it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting out the house again.

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2019 14:37

Afternoon everyone Grin
'I've just got my windowsills back after DH filled them with geraniums over the winter'

'Halfway up JOSEPHS GOWN ' Grin hope your wool arrived Smile
l love the word snigger , it has a hold on me ever since Eliza Dolittle said it scornfully to Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady Smile
Hello to Hewon't Smile .l don't know what is the matter with me but your 'cress heads ' are making me snigger Grin
Been raining here most of the day too just saw Starlings bathing in the rain on top of the bird table, the colours in their feathers are just beautiful.
Biddy , the sound of your view over the bay on your commute does sound like the stuff that enriches the soul Smile
Cish thank you m'dear lovely to be back amongst you all Smile my DD2 loves darts , l will mention to her about the competition , she will want to monopolise the telly like she did when the snooker was on, l don't mind Grin
Fluffy well done on the cross trainer workout too you are fabulous !
Better shift , l have done nothing except be online since l came home , l did have a bath and wash my hair , rewatched the excellent last epi of LOD again, l never doubted TED the very idea tsk tsk am happy just being home with the family watching the rain and a naice cuppa tea made by my darling H. Ahhh bliss.

FireflyGirl · 08/05/2019 18:41

We'll, so much for my hopes. It's been miserable and rainy all day Sad. The lettuce in the front veggie bed are loving it, though!

We sign for our allotment tomorrow, it better not be raining then! waves menacingly at the sky

I love the word 'snigger' too, MrsM. But I've got 'Just you wait, 'Enry 'Iggins' stuck in my head now...

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2019 20:04

Yes, wet here too today.

I've been verbally offered a new job today. I'm just waiting on the offer letter before I have my notice in at my current place. 😁

Of course it'll rain when you sign for the allotment. It's compulsory!

I'm glad you're starting to feel more like yourself, Mrs. That's such good news. Flowers

Firefly girl , l too have that phrase embedded now lol Grin,
l love that film
Snigger and Fnarr are 2 of my favourite words Grin , little things ......
Fluffy that is just great you have a job offer , l am not surprised though, your reputation must precede you , l so hope it is just what you want , if you could get somewhere nearer to your home or a couple of days working from home, that would be so much better for you and your family. Thank you Fluffy. l am feeling more myself , it's lovely Smile

hewontstopshitting · 08/05/2019 21:39

I’m finally able to eat without being sick😁. Tomorrow will be a busy day for us because we have to finish packing for our move. I’m not looking forward to this in the slightest😬.

Mrsmadevans Hiya. ‘Cress Heads’ gives me the giggles too, I’m not sure why but every time I get one I chuckle to myself.

NoWordForFluffy Congratulations on the job offer!!

FireflyGirl · 08/05/2019 21:39

Ooh, congratulations Fluffy.

Is it doing the same thing? Do you still get your day off?

FireflyGirl · 08/05/2019 21:43

Jinx, wontstop Glad you're feeling better.

I had a bug last week, wiped me out for 4 days and I'm still getting over it. DH started with it last night

hewontstopshitting · 08/05/2019 21:57

FireflyGirl bugs seem to be never ending lately, I hope we have a long hot summer that kills them off

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2019 22:00

Yes, Firefly, the same thing, but at a more supervisory level. No day off for now, but I can apply after 6 months, so will get my foot in the door and do that.

I'm at an awkward PQE where it can be difficult to find something suitable / challenging enough, so it suits me.

sideorderofchips · 08/05/2019 22:51

Hi all

hewontstopshitting · 08/05/2019 22:56

Thank you Mrsmadevans, I need all the luck in the world, every box I pack ends up getting unpacked because I have to re check it all out of stress.

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2019 22:57

CHIPS!! Hello m'dear , l am afraid l have been AWOLoff here for about 2 months so l don't know if you have been here or not, have only just come back to the thread. No matter it is lovely to see you here . Hope things are ok for you and your DC Smile.

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2019 23:07

Hewont can you write on the box on the outside , where the stuff is from and which room it is going into in the new home ? That is what l did when l moved . You prob have done that though , l am trying to teach you to suck eggs Grin and it is a slight attack of stress and pre moving anxiety , totally natural m'dear . I was really upset when we moved last time . I loved the house and the neighbours but the house was too small . It took me ages to settle here but despite it having its faults l love it and it is home , it is where the DDS grew up and means everything to me . I am rambling lol Smile hope you manage to sleep tonight and wake up raring to go Smile

hewontstopshitting · 08/05/2019 23:16

Mrsmadevans I’ve already wrote what room for the new house the things will be going to but I think I will write a list of what’s in the boxes and then cello tape that to the boxes and that way I don’t have to unpack it all again. Pre-moving stress is real.

I’m so very sad to be leaving our house but we live in a tiny village and it was feeling claustrophobic. The nursery and school that we would’ve sent DS1 to was an hour and half walk away and I don’t like driving on my own much. The new place is a lot different to our house now but has a delightful little village school and there’s more work there for DH. The woman that I work for also lives in the village we’re moving to so that will be much easier for me too. Even so, I can’t help but feel sad about leaving our little house, it’s both our boys’ first home.

Mrsmadevans · 09/05/2019 00:33

Hewont it sounds a lot like us we just outgrew the place . It happens unfortunately but the new. Village does sound much more suitable for the DC and your work . I am sure it will go really well and you will soon settle in bless you 🏘️🏠🏡🚪once you get into the swing of things. 🤗

hewontstopshitting · 09/05/2019 00:57

Thank you mrs I know you’re right. Cause we were ill we are very behind so the DH and I are up packing the final bits now and all the big things are in the new house so as long as we get it all done tonight we can be in our new home by the weekend😁😁🏡

NoWordForFluffy · 09/05/2019 07:00

Morning! It's a tiny bit damp today but not meant to be. But our forecast has been very wrong recently, so who knows what may happen?! 😂

Chips!!! 👋So good to see you. We miss you. I hope you're getting on OK. Flowers

Wontstop, moving is hideous, I won't lie! But sometimes it's a necessary evil. We can't face moving, though I'm always keeping my eye out in case something catches my eye. 😂 It's all the accumulated stuff which puts us off really. And we do try to keep on top of it. You'll be fine with labelled boxes...just remember to keep the kettle and tea / coffee-making essentials with you! UHT milk is fine for a day!

Mrs, forgot to say that cacti are evil shits. I only had one (my mum has custody now!) and he (Spike - fnarr!) got me all the time. He's over 30 now, I think. 😱
