Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Woolly I'm with Fluffy - stop dropping hints, find a cottage you like then tell DH about it or book it then tell him that's where you're going for Christmas

Fluffy I'm glad your staples are out and hope it's not too sore.

PSB That Aunt is bloody ridiculous, tell her no!

MrsMad I'm glad the funeral went as well as possible.
Is your boiler fixed now?

I have been so busy, I actually brought work home today despite working until

  1. I'm done now but my back is aching and I simply can't be bothered to do any of the things that need doing (housework / admin / crochet).
Mrsmadevans · 20/03/2019 21:29

Evening everyone 😀
Fluffy, poor you having a damn cold now on top of the aching shoulder. 🤧👃
Boiler has been sorted YaY just a simple part changed thankfully 😄
Agree with you re the boosters poor kids , it's all nonsense these sets in my DDs school they were both in set 3 and both got a B in their maths GCSE , l didn't fuss about it , they worked hard they had the best teacher going and they did well. Some of the kids in set 1 and Set 2 didn't do as well. Their parents demanded they stay in set 1 even though they weren't good enough. I was cackying myself they would move my 2 from the great teacher in set 3 and l was so relieved they didn't 😃
You are definitely not old and grumpy Woolly probably a bit fed up of all the pretentious crap they want the kids to perform these days .Just like me! 😄
PSB hope Ds is feeling better tonight , any ideas what it is from? I know he had an attack of this a couple of weeks ago and they did tests then but nothing showed if l remember rightly. Hope he is ok 🤗
Crazy you sound really busy Lovely girl! Boiler fixed now 😃. Chill out now and join me watching MasterChef 😄
Glyndebourne, prob spelled it wrong 🙄 is very posh 👑🤣

Morning!

It's been a busy morning so far with the school run and housework. I'm very slow doing cleaning with 1 arm, but I'm bored of just sitting!

We're off out for lunch shortly, so that'll be nice. Smile

The biggest wound site is bloody itchy due to healing. It's driving me slightly mad. As is my polyester sling which makes my arm and abdomen sweaty and therefore also itchy! Ah well, only 4 more weeks of it!

DS2 had pizza for lunch. 😋🍕

Mrsmadevans · 21/03/2019 15:19

Afternoon everyone Smile
Fluffy your lunch out sounds lovely hope you enjoyed it Smile
The wounds will soon heal and stop being itchy , apart from that is the pain much better , l mean that nagging horrible pain you had before you had the op . I do hope so m'dear Smile
I have been to see my GP this morning about my Sister because l couln't stand the way l way feeling anymore , it is constantly on my mind . She has told me to go as low contact as l possibly can and is sending me for counselling . She is convinced my sister is a narc and her husband doesn't realise . I don't know what it is but l know l feel awful Sad
My little girl l nursed for years is very ill , she is going to die soon . Her Mum let me know last night. I can't quite believe it . Bless her and her lovely family Sad
Anyway life goes on , taking Mum to dancing tonight so hopefully a good old gossip will cheer me up a bit Smile

PhilomenaButterfly · 21/03/2019 19:13

DD had her SPaG booster today, she was home at 4.45, had spaghetti carbonara with garlic pizza bread for supper, DS2 was in bed by 6, DD will go at 8.15. 📒😋🍝😴

MrsMad I'm very sorry about the little girl you used to nurse. It's so sad.

This year is just a bit rubbish isn't it? My cousins are dreading upcoming Mother's Day after losing their mum not long ago and I suddenly get times where I miss her so much I need to have a little cry.

Anyway, moving on... I'm having a lie in this morning as I have a late start. I normally leave at 7:15 but have the nurse at 8:40 so I'm still in bed.

Plan for today - have my bloods taken, go to work, finish ON TIME, home, Walk dogs, have tea, have a cosy night in with DH and watch a film 👍🏻

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 07:50

Morning!

That sounds like a good plan for today, Crazy. You need to finish on time after all your hard work recently.

Mrs, I'm so sorry to hear that your patient isn't going to live much longer. How awful for her family just having to wait for the inevitable. Flowers

My shoulder doesn't hurt in the way it was, but I'm also not allowed to move it! It's aching, but it's recovery from a right battering judging by the external bruising! I'm sure it's fine. Grin

Morning everyone Smile
Today my little girl is going to Ty Hafan to die. The sad truth is she has had enough and there is no more they can do for her. It is so wrong l can't even begin to think how her Mum and family are coping with it .
Crazy , l am so sorry you have been missing your aunt , your poor cousins . It must be horrible for you all. Flowers I think as time goes by you still miss them but you learn to adjust . It's like you learn to cope better l think. Your plans for today sound excellent enjoy your evening with your beloved Smile
Fluffy, it sounds as if the surgery has been a complete success as regards the original pain has gone. I know you have this aching because you cannot move it and it must be so frustrating but l know you will do great with this and it will heal really well and you will be able to do everything you want to Smile
PSB hope your DS is much better today m'dear Smile
Better shift up the parents and off to do their shopio first have a lovely day everyone Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/03/2019 10:19

Bless you Crazy. It's lovely to see how much your aunt must have been loved for her to be missed so much. I'm not really looking forward to Mother's Day either. Nearly half of my emails are advertising stuff to buy for Mum and the shops are full of cards, flowers, chocolates and gifts. It's doubly confusing because I'm a mum and need to be up for my DC.

Hospices are wonderful places MrsMad and children's hospices even more so. I hope your little friend passes peacefully Thanks

Fluffy rest while you can. Have you got arnica for your bruising?

I've finished my blanket for Woolly Hugs and I'm now working through the remainder of the yarn to make squares.

DD2 didn't get the uni place she wanted at her interview this week so she's very upset. She has got other options so it's not game over yet.

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2019 18:04

Afternoon everyone Smile
Been to the parents and sorted them out , did loads of cleaning , washing, drying and cooking for them . Did their shopio before coming home . Bought Mum some pretty flowers 'from Dad ' Smile
Anyway l haven't heard anymore about my little friend in Ty Hafan no news is good news l think. She may make yet another miraculous recovery it wouldn't surprise me Grin and l do hope so Smile
Woolly thank you for your kind words . I am so sorry your DD didn't get the Uni course she wanted but sometimes these things work out for the best, easy for me to say l know . My DD has given up her Midwifery course after 2 years and it is really disappointing for her and all the family but the choice is ultimately hers and we can only support her in whatever she wants to do . Well done on making the blanket for Woolly hugs that is so kind of you , they make such beautiful things for others Smile
Better shift and get tea , lighter nights are coming just lovely Smile

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/03/2019 19:19

Went to McDonald's for lunch, DS2 had a cheeseburger happy meal, a chocolatey doughnut, a 99 and a large banana milkshake, I had a Big Tasty with Bacon meal, DD's at my aunt's, DS2 had pizza for tea, I'm just starting to feel hungry, he was in bed by 6.05. 😋🍔🍟🍩🍦🍌🍔🍟😋🍕😴

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/03/2019 19:20

2 bouts of diarrhoea today Mrs. 😢

CishAndFips · 22/03/2019 19:49

Evening all. Thank goodness it's the weekend. DH are going out tomorrow night, it's his cousins 30th and I'm so looking forward to it.

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2019 19:50

Aw PSB poor DS2 have you been back to the Dr's m'dear? Of course it could just be school and the children not washing their hands after going to the loo and getting their germs on everything Hmm. Hope he is ok over the weekend PSB Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2019 19:52

Cish l feel you re thanking God it's the weekend m'dear lol
Enjoy your night out tomorrow it will do you the world of good Smile

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/03/2019 21:03

Apparently Mrs I have to treat him at home and if he's not better by 7 days I have to take him to the doctor.

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/03/2019 21:10

Praying for your little girl Mrs.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 21:10

PSB, have you tried paring his diet right back and using the BRAT (bread, rice, apple, toast) diet for a bit to give his stomach a chance to calm down? It might help.

DD's had a mild stomach bug since yesterday, sharing it with me too. I get everything at the moment. Hmm

Oh no about your DD, Woolly. Has she got a Plan B?

Well done on finishing your blanket and cracking on with more knitting. I miss my cross stitching!

I've not taken / used anything for the bruising. It's not hideous, and it's almost gone externally now. If I'm still aching next week I'll see about it!

Cish, have fun at the party.

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2019 21:12

Really PB ? Wow the Dr's don't seem to mind much do they ? I suppose DC of this age are very often ill with a lot of things . I wonder if he would benefit from those Probiotic yogurts ? Just a thought , hope he is ok very soon m'dear Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2019 21:13

Thank you for your prayers for my little friend PSB Flowers

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/03/2019 21:14

Fluffy I'll try that tomorrow, I can't see him eating much though! Hmm

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/03/2019 21:16

Hmm, that's an idea Mrs, he does love yoghurt.

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2019 21:17

Fluffy great idea re the BRAT diet Smile
Not suggesting your DS is a BRAT PSB , far from it he seems a little darling Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 21:17

The first B is banana, not bread. Toast is bread!

I'm afraid sometimes kids just have to do what's good for them, sadly. I know it's hard when they're young, but it's up to us to make sure they can get well, so protestations have to fall on deaf, but concerned, ears.
