Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

BiddyPop · 24/01/2019 17:25

Hi all,
How did we manage to fill a whole thread already?!
Sorry life has been - I won't say manic as you all tell me that all the time - but a slightly higher pace of lunacy and chaos than normal?!
DD has a possible broken finger (accident with a basketball in school) so strapped for 2 weeks. Meant a long night sitting in A&E while it got xrayed on Tuesday (can't go to local OOH clinics as she is U16). And it's her writing hand as well.
1st year PT meetings on Monday (Y7 equivalent I think - start of secondary school) - whoa that was a long afternoon!! But good comments. DH had to leave for airport when we still had a few to see.
Various issues with 3 big work projects, all were under control last Thursday but wheels coming off slightly since.....keeping them on track as best we can.
Spring sailing starts on Sunday for the kids, so application form needed to go up (went up today, slightly late), and the winter regatta is only a few weeks away so lots to do for that!
And my interview is on Monday, so I am cramming for that - while approving application for 1 of my team for another competition, and dealing with regular irrelevant garbage (like someone asking me to clear an answer to something, in between important conference calls, that has a deadline of Monday afternoon, not "in the next 5 minutes" like she implied!!). Angry

Oh well, "A Guide smiles and sings under all difficulties"! I just need to remind myself more this week of that!

Welcome Notting new friends are always welcome Xmas Grin

Off to check the printer has done its' job, and then heading home.....

Mrsmadevans · 24/01/2019 18:09

Biddy l will say it m'dear lol 'even more hectic than usual' ! Xmas Grin
Well done getting everything sorted and l so hope DD Finger is healing well too , the very best of luck for your Job interview . Sailing regatta sounds like great fun too YAY!

SpecialK24 · 24/01/2019 19:23

Thank you @Mrsmadevans and NoWordForFluffy, Ds is still not better and I'm getting a little worried now as he's the poops since Saturday and it's so bad every time he eats he can't keep it in :( the hospital on Monday said it could be a virus and made a follow up appointment on Tuesday but they wasn't worried said to make sure he drinks plenty and he could have it for over a week. Today he has mostly lay on me or the bed and slept 🙁 Called the doctors today at 8.30am to be a doctor would call me and didn't hear by 3pm so called again to be told the same thing. No call from the doctor at all!!! How long do these things normally last for oh wise wonderful ladies? Xx

SpecialK24 · 24/01/2019 19:25

BiddyPop I don't know how you do it all, you sound like super woman. :) hope your DD's finger heals quickly xx

Mrsmadevans · 24/01/2019 19:35

Special ......l don't want to worry you but has your Ds deteriorated since Tuesday? If he has then l really think you need to go back to the hospital and get him seen again. When our DC become lethargic it really isn't a good sign and you need to make sure he isn't dehydrated . I don't want to worry you but it is surely better to be safe than sorry sweetie . I so hope he is fine Flowers, l am sure he will be Smile

Mrsmadevans · 24/01/2019 19:37

Also have you been giving him rehydration Dioralyte sachets my dear ?
Did the hospital give you some to give him at home?

SpecialK24 · 24/01/2019 20:20

He has only got worse since today really been tired and sleeping all day. Yes we did get some but he wouldn’t not drink it so have been giving him juice but today he has had more to drink but slept more :( looks like I better start thinking about warming the car :( thank you xx

Mrsmadevans · 24/01/2019 20:38

Ahhh Special l hope he is ok m'dear but so much better to be safe and get him checked out. Hopefully he will get to Acc/Em and start running round the place and make you look daft , l do hope so Flowers .

NottingPhil · 24/01/2019 21:21

Thank you Biddy, that’s a very hectic day. I hope your DD’s finger is better.

Special I’m sorry about your son, I hope he starts to feel better soon

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2019 22:10

Oh Special, how worrying. Definitely listen to Mrs as she's a paediatric nurse so knows what she's on about!

Well, DS went back to school today as he'd perked up. And guess what? He has chicken pox finally! Slight fail sending him in, but the spots literally started at bath time, so we didn't know!

Biddy, I've no idea how you fit everything in!

Notting, all are welcome here. It's a lovely thread. Smile

Hi everyone!! I need to catch up but it's going to be hard to I will say I am healing slowly but surely! I'm on my new formula and increasing it slowly slowly.

I've hung up some really cool star lights in my front room and I'll try and get some good photos for you tonight.

Mrs Your photos are fabulous! I hope to finally be back! I'm so sorry I've been such a terrible friend.

Cish I'm chugging along and healing very very slowly. I've been reading and just watching Christmas movies 24/7 lol I'm sorry your headaches are back love :(

Fluffy I'm so sorry to hear about your nightmare commute!

NottingPhil I'm very partial to amazon for my decorations honestly!

Special Can you mix his electrolyte drink in with his juice? Also can you freeze some of it in ice cube trays so he can suck on a little ice lolly? That might help. I'm not sure about the UK but here in the USA there is a bad bad stomach virus going around that can last for up to 14 days!

Biddy I'm sorry to hear about your son's finger!! That's so painful!

Next week we are in for frightening cold days with lows of -3 F which is -19 C! I'm kind of scared to deal with such temperatures! I hope we can keep our house warm!

SpecialK24 · 24/01/2019 23:53

Woke him up and managed to get him to stay awake by saying he could play games on my phone if he drank some medicine and got 30mls of Dioralyte and some water down him with the calpol syringe. He sat there playing happily for a little while so panic over for now. He’s now in my bed with me so I can keep an eye on him and try to get him to drink throughout the night. Good idea about the ice cubes I’ll try that tomorrow. Thank you for all your advice I’ll keeo you posted. Hope you all get some sleep ❤️x

NottingPhil · 25/01/2019 00:00

Thank you Fluffy it’ll be nice to get to know you all and be able to chat to everyone. I’m sorry your son isn’t very well, but it sounds like the pox were a long time coming. I hope he can get over them quickly.

Wheelchair I hope you start to feel better, I’ll take a look at the amazon decorations. We’ve never really ‘done’ Christmas but I want to make it special this year, so am planning ahead. Where abouts are you?that temperature sounds dreadful, I hope you find a way to keep warm.

Special I hope he starts to feel better soon, definitely keep an eye on him.

I’m up feeding my little girl whilst everyone else is asleep, very jealous of them all as I could do with a good nights rest, maybe tomorrow though.

WheelchairWoes · 25/01/2019 00:01

Special I'm so so glad you got some Dioralyte into him (It's called Pedialyte here so forgive me if I call it that)

The ice cubes is what we do for the kids when they are sick and it's bad. It works really well!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/01/2019 07:09

Morning!

Nice to see you back, Wheelie! I'm glad things are improving slowly. And I hope you manage to keep warm.

DS hasn't got many spots, so it may be a mild dose which was worse before the spots came. DD had it just after they started back to school so it's taken him almost 3 weeks to also get it. She brewed it for that long too though.

He's off to DH's parents today as he loves it there! We're off to the allotment. I'm planting my bare root shrubs and DH is finishing the guttering on the shed. Hopefully he can do a couple of tip runs too!

First and foremost, I'll take DD to school!

CrazyBaubles · 25/01/2019 09:54

Hi all. I missed the move to the new thread but happy to see the regulars and some new posters 👋

Thank you for the posts sending me love / flowers / a cwtch. I'm very sad to say my auntie passed away yesterday and I'm a bit numb to be honest. Even though we knew it was coming, it was still a shock to get the call if that makes sense?

On top of that, my niece now has chicken pox so my sister is trying to separate her from the babies so it doesn't take over (she's fighting a losing battle obviously) and it means she's pretty much house bound so not able to really support cousins and dm.

Anyway, I haven't been able to fully catch up on the thread as my attention span has reduced to about 2 minutes max at the mo but I will make the time to get back on board over the weekend.
