Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Mrs, do you have any family friends who may be able to do the caring work? My BiL has a PA who's a family friend, so they didn't have to advertise. Obviously it takes a certain type of person, but it's worth thinking about.

You will be glad when they start though, I bet!

I agree with Mrs, PSB, I'd think you'd be OK, especially if you go at the time the sale starts rather than leaving it late. At least your first choice is nice and close. What size school is it? Mine was massive. I went from a teeny village school to a mahoosive secondary!

I might just let my brows go wild and treat myself to a professional reshape before I go back to work. The disconcerting thing is that I have grey in my brows to match my hair. Bugger! 😂

And yes re the 💩 issues. I got Laxido from the nurse so am just plodding on with that (it's grim) in conjunction with dropping the codeine in the hope things get, ahem, moving! 🙈🙈

DH got my strawberry bare roots into the allotment today and I managed to do my Busy Lizzie plugs in with help. My Narcissus and grape hyacinth are out now. It's looking most spring-like now!

Fluffy that is a great idea . My Dad may have someone , there is a lovely young boy next door to them who is on College P/T and comes in to visit them most weeks he may be interested , l will have to ask thank you for suggesting it that is a great idea Smile
It's a big shock going to a large school. At least it was for me. l did the same and l hated it Fluffy Sad. We had to get up at 6 to walk a fair way to catch the bus at half 7 which took us ages to get to Brecon High school, we didn't get home till 5 if we were lucky it was so tiring. You soon get used to it though Smile
The grey in the eyebrows Grin it's horrible isn't it , yes l would let them go and get them threaded , have you had it done before, they are really painful but very quick Hmm eeeekkkk Grin
Don't blame you re the codeine, it is so bad you think you will bust your stitches straining Grin TMI but true! Grin
Your allotment must be looking lovely , l love grape hyacinths/hyacinths one of my favourite flowers ever if not my favourite it's everything about it the scent the colour the way they stand so tall , l just love them Smile
Have a good sleep Fluffy and take care m'dear Smile

PhilomenaButterfly · 15/03/2019 23:33

It's got 750 pupils, that seems small to me, mine had over 1000.

Morning everyone 😀 hope we all had a good night sleep 😴 💤 😁
Fluffy hope you are feeling better again today 🤗
PSB that is a small school, my DDs school was that size and they were happy there , it sounds almost perfect for her and you tbf 😄
Off up the parents soon , have to do their shopping before we go so better shift 😃.
It has been really wet and windy overnight storm Gareth hasn't finished passing through here yet l reckon
🌀💧🌂💨🌧️🌬️😬
Better shift rugby later too 💤 🙄
Have a great day everyone 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2019 10:15

Morning!

Our school was about 1,200 in my day, but is larger now. Woolly might be able to say how big it is now. I'm guessing about 1,500 as they increased from 6 to 8 forms per year while I was there.

It's shocking weather here. Gareth is really hanging about! At least my strawberries have been well-watered in! 😂 It's meant to improve tomorrow.

I'm feeling OK, but my staples are causing issues today as they're sore around the fixings. The wound is fine. I've put diluted tea tree oil and a plaster on and will keep an eye on it.

We have the class bear but won't be taking it anywhere today. Too wet and windy! Lazy day ahead.

DS2 and I will go to Sainsbury's for lunch, DD's having a Pukka pie right now. 😋🍗🍄

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/03/2019 13:15

Fluffy I'd say 1300-1400 pupils easily now. They increased the size of the sixth form when DD1 was there. DS's school is much smaller than that.

I saw my guardian angel yesterday. Waiting at a red light in the inside lane of three lanes of traffic there was a transit van in the next lane. The lights turned to amber and the passenger in the van started waving madly at me. In the time it took for it to register a huge car transporter raced across in front of me having gone through the lights on the cross road which must have been on red. I would have been toast if I hadn't noticed the passenger trying to warn me.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2019 13:30

It is a massive school, Woolly. I think they have a new sixth form common room now; the old one - at the top of the Old building - was rubbish but we loved it!

Thank goodness for the person in the van, Woolly. How scary! Where were you? I'm trying to think of a road which matches that description! People jump lights all the time here, it's really dangerous.

In McDonald's, DS2 had cheeseburger Happy Meal and a 99, I had Grand Big Mac Bacon meal. 😋🍔🍟🍦🍔🍟

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/03/2019 13:43

It was on the way into town from where I used to live. There are three sets of traffic lights on the stretch of road by the Harvester. This was the first set of lights where traffic crosses from the industrial estate to loop round to get onto the A roads.

My car is really nippy and good at pulling away from lights so I really did have a lucky escape.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2019 13:44

Those are awful junctions. I hate them. Very luck escape for you.

CishAndFips · 16/03/2019 18:02

Evening all. Weather has been awful so it has been a rather lazy day here. DS is in huge trouble at school again its getting relentless. We should have an appointment with the neuro developmental team coming up soon, it honestly cant come quick enough. Suprisingly his behaviour today has been brilliant.

Im getting rather fed up of storm Gareth now the rain seems to be never ending.

PhilomenaButterfly · 16/03/2019 20:14

Had chilli for supper, DS2 was in bed by 5.45, DD will go at 8.15. 😋😴

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2019 20:28

Evening everyone Grin
Had a busy day , Dad not very well today he had a little fall last night , l checked him over and only very slight bruising so rubbed Voltarol in him for the pain . He is so tired he can barely walk or get out of the chair and my heart aches for him. He doesn't eat much and is a bag of bones , it's so sad . I want to go out like a Lion not like a lamb when it is my turn l tell you. I think it is as if we are staying alive too long these days and it is not a good thing if you are not very able. It is so sad Sad
Hope your wound feels better this evening Fluffy they do dig in those staples , l used to hate them when we had to take them out . They used to put the heebie jeebies in me Grin
Woolly that is so frightening but thank God for the guardian angel bless them , you were so lucky , am so glad you are alright Flowers
PSB l love 99 l am very jealous of your DS Grin
Cish l know the feeling re this damn Garry he can do one when he likes Grin . I am sorry to hear of your DS having trouble , it is very worrying for you and you can't know which way to turn bless you all Flowers
Am just going to have a naice cuppa courtesy of DH bless him
Have a lovely Sat evening everyone Smile

Just come off the phone to Mum. Dad has eaten a bit more this evening so l will go to bed a bit happier.

CishAndFips · 16/03/2019 20:50

mrsmad your poor dad, glad to hear he has eaten something. Enjoy your brew, im currently drinking a hazelnut coffe that DH picked up from aldi this morning. I honestly don't know what to do with DS at the moment its like living with jekyll and Hyde and we dont know which one we are going to get from one minute to the next.

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2019 21:37

Ahhh thank you Cish it's nothing l know but it puts my mind at rest a bit just for tonight when l am not there you know . It's almost like separation anxiety honestly Hmm Smile
You must be so worried l know , it must eat at you and be on your mind all the time it weighs you down so much. You worry about what will happen to them in the future and how can you help them and why are they like it and why you and a thousand things but l am sure it will be alright . You just need time and the right support for him m'dear once you get the right structure up and running it will be much easier for you all . I do hope so Flowers.

CrazyBaubles · 17/03/2019 08:30

Hi all 👋

I've worked a lot of overtime this week so have been dead on my feet all week. The storm has been miserable here and my car was in the garage having a new clutch for a few days so I had to walk / catch the bus in the awful weather.

I'm currently in bed watching Making a Murderer with a slightly sore head after the rugby yesterday. I watched it in a local workman's club and 2 Wales players were there (currently injured). I was a bit star struck 🤩 and almost walked straight into the front of one them Blush

Does anyone know how Wheels is doing? I tried to catch up but haven't seen her post for a while.

MrsMad I hope you find some PAs soon. Did you enjoy the match yesterday? Grin

Fluffy You're doing very well since your op but I'm sorry for you 💩 problem!
I can't wait for the pics when all your gardening work comes into fruition.

Woolly How lucky the passenger caught your attention! Your guardian angel was definitely on duty that day.

Cish how old is your DS? (sorry if you've previously posted that).

PSB I jumped from a small village school of 150 pupils to a comp school with 1200 pupils. It was a shock to the system but did me the world of good!

Morning everyone Smile
It is a beautiful day here blue skies , sun is shining, it really lifts you up Smile , weather supposed to be much better this week thankfully Grin
Fluffy hope the dreaded staples are easing off today , take care, still early days m'dear Flowers
I am off up the parents soon, my parents friends are coming this morning for a visit and a cuppa, Mum looks forward to it so much .
Cish hope you are feeling more positive today, our DC are so precious to us and we see others DC being so perfect , it makes me compare mine to theirs and hold my head in my hands Sad . She has her very good points too , which l am sure your DS has, l need to concentrate more on the good, how kind and patient she is to my parents , so gentle , cuts their nails which isn't something everyone can do and actually listens to them . She has a touch of Aspergers l think , it is difficult to know what it is really. She has decided to give up her Midwifery degree after 2 years and is busy making a huge mess of my house all in the name of decluttering her stuff atm in time Hmm . DH is doing his head in Hmm
Poor DD2 has her wisdom tooth killing her again so she is drugged up to the hilt bless her Smile she will be fine l am sure and then there is the ongoing situation with my NARC sister and her nasty but not narc DH, have armchaired diagnosed her and it all fits Hmm.
Then there is my parents Sad
Sorry l don't mean to be 'woe is me' Smile
PSB what are you having for brekky today m'dear? Something lovely l hope , enjoy it Smile
Hope everyone has a really lovely day and enjoys their Sunday lunch Grin

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2019 09:02

Crazy! Smile Poor you catching the bus , the weather has been so awful here it just isn't true! I think the Rugby was just amazing even though it isn't my thing and how lucky were you seeing the Welsh players ! I am surprised they weren't in the ground but that goes to show how difficult it was to get tickets Grin. DH was quoted 200 quid a ticket and he was sorely tempted Grin
Wheelie is currently having a lot of probs with her tube and is gong back to the Hospital for a different tube tomorrow , l am sure she won't mind me sharing that with you all. Poor thing she has put weight on though and it was all looking very positive but it just didn't work , she had blood coming up in her tube and it was uncomfortable for her bless her Flowers
Am looking for something good to watch , will have a look at the Making of a murderer thank you for the heads up m'dear . Better shift Smile Welsh cakes to buy and coffee to make Grin
Have a great day everyone Grin

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2019 09:04

I nearly forgot to say PSB ,thank you for telling me about your DS loving hello Neighbour , l have sent the Nintendo switch game to my Great nephew for his 9th birthday tomorrow , hope he loves it Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2019 15:20

Afternoon! I didn't get up until 8.25 today. It was lovely. 😁

I've been instructing DH in the garden today. Dear god it's painful; it's like he's seeing something totally different to me. I don't get it. I also tripped on the edging surrounding the lawn and jarred my shoulder. Ouch. Hopefully I've not done any damage.

My staples are still problematic. I'm cleaning 3 x a day with diluted tea tree oil, so at least keeping it clean. The wound is fine; bloody staples.

Crazy, how bonkers re the players. I'd have been the same as you.

Cish, sorry you're having trouble with DS. It must be hard if you don't have the full picture yet.

I've just been to the shop. I'm tired now! Dinner can't happen soon enough. 😂

BiddyPop · 18/03/2019 10:04

Morning all,

Life has been just a bit hectic here so unfortunately I haven't been posting too much recently.

Do has agreed though about where we will go for Christmas this year, so now I just need to get on with arrangements (including checking that 1 DSibljng and their spouse are entirely happy with the ideas, and that it wasn't just an empty invite they didn't expect to be taken up).

But it will mean snow!!!☃️❄️😀

I haven't been doing any crafting yet this year, too busy with other things, but I am going to at least finish off a couple of UFOs (including a blanket that I've been knitting for about 6 years...).

Hope you are all doing ok.
Biddy
