Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Morning all.

I love Derry girls, but then again I'm from Derry so might be a bit biased.

Have to do a bit of cleaning this morning, the physio at lunch time. I've then to go to a few things for going away next week and finally pack it all. I try to be organised but I know I'll still be throwing stuff in the car on Monday morning.

Mrsmadevans · 13/03/2019 08:48

Nero where are you going away if it's not too prying of me? Have a lovely time anyway 🤗 hope physio goes well today.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/03/2019 11:12

Morning!

I went to the nurse first thing to sort pain relief and my sick note. Plus Movacol to counter the effect of codeine! Blush 💩

Then shopping at Aldi and I'm now off to the chemist for my drugs!

Gareth was / is wild here, but we seem to have fared OK from what I can see.

Got to go. Can't walk and type left handed!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/03/2019 11:41

Oh, Mrs, the surgery had BBC Breakfast on today and that bloke was also doing my head in. The male presenter, after the woman said about TM being hoarse, said he wished others were also hoarse! 😂

The chemist lady signed my prescription for me. She said she guessed she needed to as I'd likely be right handed. I'm truly useless for some tasks. 😂😂Grin

Groan. Really needing a Christmas fix. This thread is nice but is often about anything OTHER than our favorite time of year (no offence intended).

Its a really strange time of year for me. Its cold and blowing a gale outside but the sun is streaming through the conservatory windows and warming the room up making it feel like the middle of summer inside the house!

I wish it would just get to Summer because it sort of forces me to stop thinking about Crimbo, at least for a while, and then before you realise it's past the school hols and the festive countdown begins. And its all about the run-up for me - the actual day is often a bit of an anti-climax!

I suppose the only thing I'll be looking for are the few "Christmas in July" days where Sky throw us a few films and QVC do a day or two of Christmas stuff and food that's always nice to watch (VERY expensive grub though - who pays £25 for a few chocolate brownies??)

NerosFiddle · 13/03/2019 12:42

Mrs I'm going to Center Parcs in Whinfell Forest. Nothing wild or wonderful but we love it. Thankfully they are opening one in Ireland in the summer so it means no ferries.

Fluffy that's the good thing about being left handed. You can usually use your right hand nearly as well as the left.

Mrsmadevans · 13/03/2019 17:59

Evening everyone Grin
Mums hair is awful ! Grin l hate it when she has a perm ych a fi!
Fluffy l am sure that bloke on the news gave me a headache from his incessant din, it's gone now thankfully. Well done on attending the Nurse and getting your prescriptions/sick note done . Hope you are feeling much better re the pain now . I am thinking it must be really hard to do anything with your dominant hand /arm being out of use . I hope it isn't long before you can use it again but l am guessing it will be another couple of weeks till the tear is healed enough and you can do physio /start using it .

l don't know much about orthopaedics tbh. Flowers
Blacksmith , no offence taken but we are thin on the ground with posters here this time of the year , it's difficult to think of much we can do for Christmas with it being so far away . I think it must be because the Christmas sales have gone and Easter is a way off being late this year. Never mind it will soon ramp up again Grin
Nero that sounds lovely m'dear , very healthy and clean living and quiet , sounds like the sort of place l could do with going to at the moment Smile . I saw they are opening one in Ireland later in the year that will be much better for you then.
Tree man supposed to be coming tomorrow now but we shall see Hmm
Nights are drawing out now thankfully
Have a good evening everyone take care Smile

Mrsmadevans · 13/03/2019 18:11

Morning. How is everyone?

A week ago I was at the hospital waiting for my op. Time flies.

Such good news re your little patient Mrs. She is such a fighter!

It's 6 weeks in the sling, Mrs. I'll be an expert at left handed stuff by then!

Nero, I hope you enjoy your break and the Irish Sea is kind to you for the crossings.

Blacksmith, it's a weird time of year now. Especially with Easter so late. I hope you get over your seasonal hump! Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 14/03/2019 09:09

Morning everyone 😀
Fluffy, 6 weeks on a sling 😬
It will go really fast though and the break from work is so fabulous for you and your family , just a pity it takes an op to enable it 🤗
Better shift 😃, if PSB is floating about Carol the weather looks lovely this morning 😃
Have a great day everyone 😊

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/03/2019 12:17

Went to DD's secondary school to pick up an admissions form they said they'd sent but I hadn't received, they're not sending them out until after the Easter holidays. Hmm

I had a cheese and mushroom omelette, a banana and a coffee today. 😋🍄🍌☕

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/03/2019 13:31

Nice to see you back PSB I thought you'd given us up for Lent Grin

I've got washing on the line. It's blowing a gale outside and I'm sitting in the kitchen poised to dash out and rescue it if necessary. I seem to think I can outrun the wind Hmm

Mrsmadevans · 14/03/2019 14:00

That's just typical PSB Hmm Easter is another 5/6 weeks!!
Never mind you put your mind at rest over it , missed your lovely brekkys/meals m'dear glad you are ok Smile
Woolly the tree man has just come and l am on Emergency watch , it is so bad out l am afraid a half cut tree will kill him ! I don't mean a drunk tree btw Xmas Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/03/2019 20:20

Picked DS2 up, had sweet and sour chicken for supper, DD came home from SPaG at 5, DS2 was in bed by 6, DD will go at 9.15. 😋🍗📒😴

Mrsmadevans · 14/03/2019 20:39

Very nice too PSB Smile have you been to see the new school yet, or did you go before you had to chose ? We went to two and we could see straight away which one would be most suitable for the DDS . Thankfully they got into the one we wanted which was great Smile

Mrsmadevans · 14/03/2019 20:41

Tree man came and cut the conifers YAY! He took all the mess with him such a relief to see it done before the birds nest in them . Only just got it done in time l think Smile.

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/03/2019 20:48

Yes Mrs, we did the tour of all 6 schools we put down. 😆

Mrsmadevans · 14/03/2019 23:15

Morning everyone 😀
Off to the parents this morning 🤗
Care lady coming to try to sort out the care element of the package it's very convoluted l can tell you 🙄
Fluffy l hope you are still recovering really well from the op m'dear and are not in too much pain 🤗
Mums tablets to pick up today as well , l expect they won't be ready either 🙄
Weather is awful here ,we were so lucky the tree man managed to do the conifers yesterday , big relief they are done. Just read this back and l am really grizzly this morning 😁
Take no notice of me , normal Service will be resumed LTR 😋
Better shift , have to go to the parents. Hope all well have a great day everyone 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 15/03/2019 09:59

Morning!

It's amazing how much light you get from conifers coming down, isn't it? I'm glad the bloke managed to do it without coming a cropper!

Have a good day at your parents' house.

I don't even think we have 6 secondary schools to choose from. Not without heading towards Liverpool anyway! Good on you for doing thorough research, PSB.

We put our washing down the side return when it's windy. Still gets dry but also can't go too far if it comes off the line. We once lost DD's duvet cover round the corner into someone's front garden. Luckily DH found it! That was on the line in the main garden though.

I'm not too bad today. I don't sleep as well now I've reduced the codeine, but I hate the stuff so my aim is to be off it soon. I don't want to be a hero, but I only want to take necessary pain relief. I've been told I can't really just stop codeine, so I'm now tapering until I'm off it!

My eyebrows are taking on a life of their own as I'm struggling to use tweezers with the wrong hand. I think that's the hardest thing, give or take!

PhilomenaButterfly · 15/03/2019 12:49

Their teacher advised us to use all 6 choices, and to visit all the schools we chose.

Just putting all the important dates relating to secondary school into my Google calendar, I never did all this when I started secondary school!

They've got a uniform sale in August, but it's hair raisingly close to the start of term, and what if they don't have DD's size, and the suppliers have sold out as well? Confused

PhilomenaButterfly · 15/03/2019 12:54

Trying to find 6 took us into the next borough Fluffy, but as distance from school is always a priority, we were pretty much guaranteed a place at our first choice. It's 6 minutes walk through the park.

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2019 20:59

Evening all Grin
Thank you Fluffy. The meeting with the care lady went well , we just have to advertise for PA's for them now and we can have help for them YAY! She did warn me that recruitment might prove difficult so we shall see Smile . l am so pleased for you that you are feeling a little better and l agree with you re the Codeine, it is a highly addictive, drowsy inducing, constipating drug but it is a very good pain relief and l understand you wanting to wean yourself off it asap and l agree with you Smile. Re the Unibrow Grin .You will have to shave the bgrs off Fluffy Grin. The garden looks neater with the trees done and DH has done a cut of the lawns so we are just raring to go for the Spring YAY! Won't be long now Smile . Storm Gareth has been a bit of a swine here , windy as hell , l imagine it has been terrible with you there, coming off the sea too, so l am not surprised your washing blows all over the place lol Smile. Even double pegging has not worked today so l put it wet in the box room for the parents Smile.
l was so tired when l came from the parents , then went shopping, then had to do Mum and Dads tablets into their pots for the week ahead, Mum has 22 a day and Dad who is the more ill of the two has 5 a day Hmm. Phew l had to check them twice in case l OD'D them Grin
We are watching Gardeners World and Monty Don's Golden retrievers are just gorgeous ! Even DH said how lovely they are Smile
Adam Frost seems to have a hairy caterpillar on his upper lip a bit like Manolitto off Bonanza Grin. l HAD to tweet Monty re how adorable his dogs are Smile
PSB l am sure they will have her size in surely? I mean they will sell out tof the bigger sizes l think or the smaller sizes but the average sizes should be ok ...YES? I would ask about to the other parents in the first year now. Have they got a FB group or a website where you can see notices?
Hope all of us are ok have a great night sleep everyone Smile
