Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Yes, I have a sling. But as I'm long-limbed I needed a big one, but it's too big for me as I'm too thin to have long limbs apparently!

I ache from being still though!

How long did your arm take to come back to you? It was really disconcerting!

Fluffy I do feel a lot better at my higher weight! It's amazing!

Your poor shoulder!! Oh my! I am glad they bandaged it so well so hopefully you won't get any complications. I can see how keeping it still would make the ache worse. I definitely know that feeling.

Woolly TY so much!

Our snow all melted. My Carer says her home got 14 inches of snow! She's only 30 minutes south and they got tons

Mrsmadevans · 08/03/2019 19:36

Evening all Smile
Fluffy . Thank Goodness you are home and the operation is all over. Your poor shoulder ahh bless you . ln the meantime can you take Ibuprofen as well as the Codeine and the Paracetamol , it is so good for pain . From the picture, l can see why it is making you uncomfortable not being able to use it. The shoulder looks like it is in an awkward position you can't really move it at all Flowers ahh bless you , did they say how bad the tear was and how well the op went ?
I am sure you will be much better very soon l am keeping everything crossed for you Smile

Mrsmadevans · 08/03/2019 19:54

Wheelie the snow looks beautiful Smile
You had good news re your weight today that is brilliant and so good about you feeling better with a little more weight on, well done for persevering with it. I hope you have cheered up now sweetie , it is so hard for you to be so young and unwell bless you Flowers
Have just made a vegan cake for DD1 birthday tomorrow . She is 25 !! l feel old! l think l baby my girls tbh and l need to let them grow up more but of course it is difficult to do so ! Xmas Grin
Anyway hope everyone is ok and enjoying their evening Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 08/03/2019 20:12

Ah, happy birthday for tomorrow for your DD1, Mrs.

I can't take ibuprofen after naproxen wrecked my stomach. So NSAIDs are out, sadly.

My shoulder was buggered! See the attached which tells you how much they did! It all fixed well though, thankfully.

MrsMad your DD1 and my DD1 were born in the same year. My DD1 has decided she's hiring a hall and having a birthday party this year. She really wants a disco that will play all 'her' music - Spice Girls, Busted, McFly, SClub. Could be fun Grin

Mrsmadevans · 08/03/2019 21:48

Thank you for the birthday wishes for DD1 tomoz everyone Smile

Fluffy, that op note is very thorough and does explain why you were in so much pain , 'full thickness tear 2x2 cm' , aw you poor thing, still it is all over with now and only time till it feels so much better and did you see the bone comment too Smile you got this!!
Mum takes Naproxen twice a day and she takes Omeprazole to look after her stomach lining. It isn't ideal because her stomach acid is neutralised and isn't as good at protecting her from stomach bugs , still ,she has to have it or the pain is too much for her from the arthritis. Hope you are feeling in less pain and discomfort now , take it slowly . I bet they are all so happy to have you home Flowers and l am Grin
Woolly that party sounds fantastic! I wanna come too Xmas Grin Mine loved SCLUB 7 ! There's no party like an Sclubb party Grin

Morning! I had loads of sleep last night. My nest clearly works! 😂 I'm still in a fair amount of pain, but that should ease as the trauma from the surgery recovers and it's just then the tendon which needs to knit to the bone.

I took omeprazole too, Mrs. But my stomach is sensitive to drugs as I have IBS so I just got loads of pain anyway! I still take omeprazole to counter the lasting side effects.

And yes, my bones are in good shape. That's something!

I'd love a party with that music, Woolly. It sounds very fun. 😁

Happy birthday to your DD1, Mrs. I hope you all have a lovely day celebrating.

Mrs happy birthday to your dd.

Woolly I have to say I'm quite partial to the Spice Girls myself Grin. I'm even going to see them in the summer.

Wheel hope you got a good nights sleep.

Fluffy glad the op went well. Looks like they had to do quite a bit of work. No wonder you were in so much pain. Fingers crossed that the pain starts to ease up in the next few days.

I've decided I'm going to treat myself to a McDonald's breakfast this morning. I always get a wrap but think I'll branch out and try something different today. My exciting life 🤣.

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/03/2019 10:58

MrsMad happy birthday to your DD.

Nero the best concert I ever went to was The Spice Girls - I took DD1 to Earls Court to see their Christmas in Spiceworld tour. I think I enjoyed it more than she did Blush. Your breakfast sounds more exciting than my Weetabix.

Fluffy your op sounds much more complicated than mine. Take it easy and take ALL the drugs. Have you got any Amitriptyline left?

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/03/2019 10:59

Fluffy sorry I didn't answer your question. My nerve block had worn off when I woke up the next day and I was off regular painkillers about 48 hours later. I just took a couple about half an hour before bed for about a week afterwards.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/03/2019 11:38

I do have amitriptyline left. I took some last night along with everything else and slept like the dead!

I'm going to take full on painkillers at least for today. I'll see what happens tomorrow. I can't see me dropping down hugely for a while though.

I bet that Spice Girls gig was ace!

Afternoon everyone 😃
Than you for DD1 birthday wishes 🤗
Have made her a vegan cake 😋😋
So what have you been up to today? 😊
Fluffy am so pleased you had a good night sleep and the nest worked 😄
Mum has It's too but the Merbeverine works wonders. As long as she avoids toms and onions for some strange reason 😄
You poor thing having long lasting side effects of the Ibuprofen, thank God your shoulder is done now. Great idea to use the pain meds, no point in being a martyr they are there to help and God knows you have been through a lot so take them m'dear 🤩
Nero, hope enjoyed your Maccy D breakfast 😋😋😋
Woolly great idea re the Amitriptyline 😃
Just watched the rugby and another one to watch now 🙄😁

That's a lovely cake, Mrs! Well done you. 😊

I've had a snooze this afternoon, which was nice. The operation has taken it out of me, it appears.

And absolutely no requirement to be a martyr, no. I just don't want to be on codeine for too long really.

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 09/03/2019 17:57

Ahhh thank you Fluffy she loved it Grin
Codeine isn't the best drug to take l agree with you . Makes you very tired, constipated and addictive in the wrong hands but is an excellent pain relief. The side effects are not nice though Hmm but you know what you are doing you are very sensible and fit and you will be off them asap l know . The op will take it out of m'dear no wonder you needed some rest this afternoon and you only missed the rugger anyway Hmm Grin.
We Dh watched the rugby and have The Ladykillers on now , it is brilliant , they have just drawn the matches to see who is going to kill Mrs Wilberforce Xmas Grin.
Have a lovely Saturday evening everyone Smile

CrazyBaubles · 09/03/2019 21:18

Hi. Sorry, life got very busy again and I dropped off the thread.

Hope everyone is ok? I'm going to read through the thread now to try and catch up..

CrazyBaubles · 09/03/2019 21:48

Fluffy - I hope the pain is easing slightly with all the drugs. As you said, no need to push to hard so I'm glad you're resting and napping as needed.

PS I don't know why but you having a tattoo in your pic surprised me Xmas Smile

MrsMad - I am very sorry for the passing of Emily and the illness of your previous patient. I'll keep her in my thoughts 💐

Well done on the cake, it looks delicious!

Woolly - what has changed to leave you with more time on your hands (you may have said but I can't remember)
I love the idea of your DDs bday party. Would love one too but with slightly older tunes thrown in (starting with early Take That and ending around McFly Grin

Wheels - I am jealous of your Lucky Charms dinner. They're rediculoislu expensive here so I buy them and eat them whenever we are in the states (DH like fruit loops which you can't really get them here).
Well done on your weight gain, that's amazing!

What sort of journal do you keep?

I have been having a tough week. A friend in work has a family member who had been in hospital for cancer treatment but has since contracted sepsis and is now dangerously ill.
Friend has been leaning on me for support but it's almost exactly what happened to my auntie so it's been hard, lots of tears and sadness I'm afraid.

I have let myself have today as a TLC day. I had a lie in (managed until 7:50 🙄) then out for breakfast, mooch around town (Cwmbran) before coming home to watch the rugby and relax with some sewing. Much needed I think (I'm not lazy I promise - there was also a small amount of housework and a dog walk)!

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/03/2019 22:19

Crazy a TLC day every now and again is important to recharge your batteries.

I resigned just before Christmas. I'm going to take my time and either find a suitable part time role or do some volunteer work. DS has long days at school so I have plenty of time for crochet and ironing. Hopefully as the weather improves I'll be getting out for some longer walks again too.

Morning!

Crazy, I have 6 tattoos in various places 😂 I always forget about my shoulder one until I see it in photos though! Grin

I think the pain is going down a bit, thank you. The drugs certainly help! And the codeine / amitriptyline combination knock me right out. I've had more than 8 hours' sleep the last two nights!

Mrs, I resorted to dried apricots last night to move things along. It's quite painful being bunged up!

Crazy, I agree with Woolly that a TLC day sounds like what you needed. Never apologise for looking after your mental health. Flowers

No plans for today really. I need to pot on some chillies so DH will be helping hindering and irritating me with that!

Mrsmadevans · 10/03/2019 09:10

Morning everyone Grin
PSB where are you m'dear? l miss your brekkys Grin hope all ok with you and yours Smile
Woolly may l be rude and ask what did you do for a job , am just interested , ignore me if you don't want to answer l'M A BUSYBODY Grin
Fluffy , it sounds as if you are slowly improving m'dear , am so pleased for you. The apricots will help the situation and yes it is damn painful Hmm just take it slowly not your usual speed l know Grin
Enjoy pottering with the chillis Smile
Hope everyone is happy and enjoying their Sunday
Just off up the parents see you ltr alligators Grin

CishAndFips · 10/03/2019 09:31

mrsmad hope your DD had a wonderful birthday.
crazy sorry to hear your having a tough time.
wheelie yay for the weight.
fluffy glad the pain is easing slightly. I had amitriptyline when i had the awful headaches and they helped immensely.

We went to our friends for dinner yesterday and a couple of drinks. It was a lovely afternoon but DC's didnt get to bed until just after 9. DS doesnt cope with tiredness and is quite cranky already today. We have already had a rather large tantrum.

DD is staying in her pj's today she is having cuddles with DH on the sofa at rhe moment. Ill take DS along to church shortly and when we get back i think everyone can have a bath and then duvet snuggles on the sofa with a film or two.
We usually have a long walk in the woods at the back of our house on a sunday but the weather is rubbish and everyone is full of cold.

CrazyBaubles · 10/03/2019 10:40

Woolly Why did you resign (if you don't mind me asking)?
I dream of working part time one day!

Fluffy Thank you and good luck gardening with your DH.
I have 1 tattoo (had a rebellious moment when I was 17 and got it purely because parents told me I couldn't 🙄) but it surprises people who don't know me so well. I'd love another but not sure what to have yet.

Cish That sounds like a lovely day.

My day consists of light housework, a food shop, ILs for lunch then home for a walk, a bath and little bit of work.
