Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Lavender yes she was from your neck of the woods l think Norfolk if my memory recollects correctly , she is much missed here isn't she Fluffy ? She was a great gal Xmas Grin she had 4 DC lived in a 2 bedroomed house with her DH and the DC , she had bought her own house as well and she was only 24 . What an achievement at so young an age of course she had a very good salary and her DH so she was able to buy it so young !
Fluffy, well done get it done you are just amazing l take my hat off to you Xmas Grin

LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 18:19

Mrs No where near me then, I’m in Bedfordshire. My grandad used to go birdwatching in Norfolk so he might have been up to some trouble and I have an aunt there.

LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 18:20

Just read your post again, guessing she was a troll?

NoWordForFluffy · 27/02/2019 18:27

No idea, Lavender. You're not allowed to troll hunt. She just vanished.

Beds isn't that much to the east really though, is it? You're quite close to London there. I'm from up the Midland Mainline so know that area really well.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/02/2019 18:28

Though Bedford / Luton are very grey, I'll give you that! 😂😂

OP posts:
LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 18:38

Fluffy not too far to the east, but classed as the East of England, you’re right though it is more Midlands.
I’m guessing she was a character at least. How long has this thread been going? I notice it says thread 2 but have been on the Christmas board and they go back a good while from as far as I can tell

Mrsmadevans · 27/02/2019 18:50

I would love to live so near to London you lucky thing Envy

LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 18:53

Mrs We’re about an hour and half away by car. It confuses a lot of people because there’s a village with the same name as our village in London, so family thought we were moving there

Mrsmadevans · 27/02/2019 18:53

l don't think she was a troll she just had her handsful , she is much missed by myself and Fluffy Sad. We have lost too many here lately , Red, Firefly girl, Handbag, et al , l expect they will return when it is nearer Christmas. l hope so anyway Smile

Mrsmadevans · 27/02/2019 18:55

Oh it seems so much nearer. l am still full of envy Xmas Grin you have got a few miles nearer there than me Smile stuck in Monmouthshire !

LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 19:04

Mrs I suppose it does get more full over Christmas time, a lot of people wouldn’t dream of even saying the ‘C’ word so soon.

I’ve never been to Monmouthshire. I always went to North Wales as a kid, but I’ve always wanted to live in wales. It’s such a beautiful place

Mrsmadevans · 27/02/2019 19:16

It's beautiful here but it is always the same , the grass is always greener on the other side lol Xmas Grin

WheelchairWoes · 27/02/2019 19:36

fluffy I want a green house! So so badly! I always look at the small kit ones they have! LOL We are definitely stuck in non ending appointments. It's exhausting me! Oldest kid now has one tomorrow to get her brace fixed. They say it's an easy fix though.

Today I noticed the farm supply store? HAS TREES! Soon!

Lavender Ohhhhh my kids loved paddling pools when they were little. Now they are older and don't like most of that stuff. My younger is 13 and does still love chalking up the drive though haha

I've been missing a lot of our old chatters. Some of them pop by periodically and a few had major major life changes so they might never show up. I'm hoping come Christmas they'll be back. It's hard to keep the Christmas spirit up when it's Spring and Summer though haha

The thread has been going at LEAST a year from what I understand but maybe more?

It's overcast here today and I'm kind of glad of it. I think we have some rain or snow coming soon. I'm looking at garden decorations online and trying to pick some new ones as my old ones are pretty run down and need replacing

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/02/2019 20:02

I think this is my fourth or fifth year of regular contributions on the countdown threads and I might have dipped in and out of previous years.

Lavender I'm just up the Midland Mainline from you in Northamptonshire. (About an hour to London MrsMad). If you are looking for good Christmassy threads then check out the Poncetastic threads - there's at least one a year for a good few years - traditionally started on 25th September and can be described as the MN version of Kirstie's Homemade Christmas.

I had a lovely afternoon in the sun watching DS's football match at school (soccer Wheelie Grin). This was after waking up in a blind panic last night. DH is away so I drop off to sleep listening to murder mystery audiobooks on YouTube. Unfortunately last night's featured alarms, sirens and arguments in the last ten minutes. They woke me up, I jumped out of bed and yanked the blinds up to see what was going on without my glasses on. What a numpty. I've found a nice Margery Allingham for tonight - no sirens I hope.

How are you getting on with Miss Silver MrsMad?

CishAndFips · 27/02/2019 20:26

Evening all. Wow ive missed so much being awol the last few days. DH seems to be coming out the other side of this anxiety episode, its so lovely to see him smile and hear him laugh again. I didnt realise how much i had missed it.

DS was sent home sick from school today. Hes been playing all afternoon and had two dinners, Hmm. He has to stay off tomorrow so its going to be a rather stressful day off, he does not cope very well being stuck indoors.

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/02/2019 20:44

Cish great news about your DH.

I hate the second sick day. My DC usually end up bouncing round the room and eating me out of house and home.

PhilomenaButterfly · 27/02/2019 20:53

Picked DS2 up from animation club at 4, had chicken and parmesan fettuccine and garlic bread for supper, DS2 was in bed by 6.40, DD will go at 9.05. 😋🍗😴

CrazyBaubles · 27/02/2019 21:22

Lavender I've gone back over your post asking about traditions and wanted to tell you some of my family ones (sorry if this is a repeat post for some):
At home, my dad woke me and my sister up every day in December with Christmas music (it was on downstairs and he turned it up and up until we woke up) and now we've moved out he calls us early on Dec 1st and we all listen to a song together. DH and BIL think we're nuts but I love it Xmas Grin
We also all get a 'Christmas Eve present' which always magically turns out to be pjs and because we're spoilt my parents do a gift which is saved until after dinner. This has been tickets for things for the last few years but when we were young it was things like games to play outside which parents would join in. Great fun when you're playing swingball with your dad etc.

Also, Arthur was my lovely grandads name. I'm so glad it's making a comeback, it has safe connotations for me.

I have to ask, why was your DH ranting about the Oscars?

CishAndFips · 27/02/2019 21:39

woolly thank you im so relieved he's feeling better. Yes i know already this will be my day tomorrow.

crazy thank you he starts his new role on monday and i think thats going to be a huge help. I love your Christmas traditions. We also had the Christmas eve pjs and we do similar with our dc's now.

LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 21:45

Mrs I think you might just be right about the grass always being greener. I don’t think I could live somewhere else now though, I like that we have a shop right on our doorstep.

Wheelchair Driveway chalk sounds amazing! I’ll have to stash it away now until the little one is old enough to use it. Let me know what you find for your garden, I love getting new decorations for mine.

Wooly I’ll have to have a look at them threads. I love Kirstie’s homemade Christmas as well so it should be right up my alley.

Cish Glad your DH is doing better, sorry to hear your son isn’t very well though.

Crazy Them traditions are ace, we’ll definitely do Christmas Eve presents. I think I’ll do him some pyjamas whilst he’s little but when he gets older put hot chocolate and bath bombs in it.
I love the name Arthur. It’s always been a favourite of mine, we’re just shortlisting it all now. It’s such an exciting time.

Let me see if I can remember (because I just nod my head and hum in approval when he talks about it). But he didn’t like that Greenbook won because he thought Roma or the Favourite deserved it. He had a genuine reason but I’ve forgot that. He also didn’t like that Black panther won more awards than the favourite. And he doesn’t like how the Oscar’s are anymore and thinking’s they’re losing what it’s really about.
It’s cute when he gets angry about it to be honest, even though I have no clue what he’s on about most of the time, I just stick to my rom comsGrin

WheelchairWoes · 27/02/2019 21:56

Woolly Did DS's team win? Also LOL about the sirens and waking up! I've done that kind of thing before! I'm rolling about it

Cish I'm glad your DH is coming out of his anxiety! Mine seems to come in waves. I'll do good for a while and then BAM it gets me and knocks me up.

I hope your DS will be ok! Mine are home bodies and are perfectly content to not leave the house lol.

PSB What do they do at animation club?

Crazy I am feeling better!! I'm sorry about your headache cycle though. Those always suck so badly! I fully support Christmas Crochet all year round!

Lavender We love sidewalk chalk. The kids love to draw really really elaborate stuff. Last year we got them tons and tons of chalk so now we're just waiting for good weather and she can draw us the world.

I'm not sure if it's up your alley but this is what my husband bought me lol I love it! It's almost a foot tall! It will go out and sit on my ramp that way it will be under the watch of our security camera as this is the type of stuff someone would steal

www.thinkgeek.com/product/ksjv/

I'll attach a photo too cause it's super cute! It's from the Mario games. It will arrive tomorrow actually! lol

Other stuff I'm looking for for my garden this year? New solar lights, a new flag, some new flower stakes and maybe a new angel or fairy :)

Let's not forget about romance and love...grab your Valentine and join the Countdown to Christmas, thread 2!
WheelchairWoes · 27/02/2019 21:57

Oh! I did buy some new curtains as my naughty kitties ripped the ones in the front windows. So I ordered some thicker ones that will be here tomorrow

LavenderBelle · 27/02/2019 22:05

Wheelchair I love your flower, that’s really cool. You’re putting my garden to shame. I’m thinking of putting lights in the garden for the summer, so we can sit out in the garden with the little one when it gets a bit darker.

PhilomenaButterfly · 27/02/2019 22:15

Wheelie they make CGI animations, DD's doing a FNAF one and DS2's doing a Lego Ninjago one.

Mrsmadevans · 27/02/2019 23:31

Crazy l didn't mean Handbag l meant Hairspray Babe Xmas Grin Hmm
I knew you were Handbag Crazy m'dear lol. l could not mix you up sweetie, my almost NDN in crime Grin
