Morning all,
Sorry I've been MIA, life interfered again. But the sailing event went well, mostly, last weekend and I don't have to organize another one until at least next year (well, not another Topper event, I may have to be involved in Junior sailing events as part of the Committee, but none on my own!). 50 sailors on the water, and all safely home (despite fog coming down and slight chaos with comms failing - but we had enough safety cover and it proved the point that we were right to limit numbers on safety grounds!). My bones and muscles though - I spent most of the weekend on a rib, and I learned an awful lot about a load of different things over the weekend!!!
Fluffy, I do too sit down, (at least some evenings!) [GRIN] and I haven't done 6 hours digging (and then another day on the plot) since I lost the plot about 8 years ago!! (Literally - I couldn't get enough time on the allotment so I gave it up, very regretfully). I hope you are feeling human again by today (or maybe tomorrow).
MrsMad, I was sorry to see your DSis and her DH had caused you such pain recently, but I'm really glad to see that you are still able to spend time with DM and DF. I only saw the 2nd half of the IE/IT match - were the rest good?
Cish I hope DH is feeling a bit less low soon, it's hard to support them but I am sure he appreciates it when he is not so low.
Welcome Lavendar, Arthur Elliot sounds lovely, and other than the decorations thing, be careful what you start as traditions from the beginning as some are harder to keep going than others! We have a traditional reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" as a bedtime story, which is still fine (DD is now 13), but the "putting different daily ideas for fun in the advent calendar pockets" (or Elf on the Shelf mischief that others do!) is harder to keep going as DC get older and life gets busier...so learn to pace yourself!
PB that sounds like an ideal breakfast, I want a bacon sandwich now....
DD went back to sailing last week for midterm, and to writing and sports in school this week. Oh the relief!!! Her finger is still a bit sore when pressure applied, so we need some physio, but normal activities resuming means she is much happier! She did the event too, but retired from the last race on Saturday and had a problem in the 1 race on Sunday - but was happy overall and had plenty of chat with her friends from other clubs who came as well.
This week, I have paperwork to close out the event tonight, paperwork for Scouts tomorrow night, and then a study night on Thursday as the navigation exam is looming (or else a public meeting to go to while DD is at Scouts) - but I am enjoying the sunshine in the mornings!! And DH is not travelling for a couple of weeks so even though he's working after dinner at home every night, he's here.
I'd better go, after that mammoth catch up, as somebody needs to get my job done and I don't see any other volunteers!!!
