Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Wheels how is Joe? The car looks bad but the safety on them is amazing. Mine (mini) got hit by a 4x4 and although it looked awful, the structure was sound which is why I'm ok.

Does anything happen to the other driver if he doesn't have insurance? Here you can get in trouble for that because it's a legal requirement to have it.

MrsMad were you are Steve Irwin fan? He's known as Steve-o in this house and we loved him. Have you seen the PETA reaction to his google doodle? Ridiculous imo!

Fluffy I am Envy at you having been to Australia Zoo. It's on my bucket list but I'm afraid to go to Australia because of the bugs and giant spiders

The allotment looks amazing. You must be a superwoman doing all of that!

Cish sorry to hear about your DH.

Sorry I dropped off the thread again. I have had another busy week sorting out my insurance claim, work and a few family issues. Dsis is unwell so we've all taken it in turns to help out with DC as the 2 babies are so close in age and the eldest needed picking up from school etc so I've been falling into bed each evening.

Have just watched the rugby - my heart was in my mouth for the last 30 mins but I'm so pleased! MrsMad I hope you're celebrating 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿!!

WheelchairWoes · 23/02/2019 20:12

Fluffy The little bits of green in your photos make me so happy!! Everything here is still so brown and dead. You've done amazing in your allotment! What are you going to do with it when you are laid up from surgery? Will your family make sure it is ok for you?

Woolly My dad is so awesome! Your mom sounds like my grandmother right now. She's got something going on mentally though so really it's probably soon she's going to need to be in a home.

Mrs LOL I kept talking about Dr Pimple Popper when Joe was getting this done lol. Your poor mom. If the stockings cause even more issues I wouldn't be doing them either. Sounds like their GP is really fantastic though.

Lilah is NAKED today! No more shirt! It looks like her stitches have all dissolved and she's sleeping with Joe in my bed right now.

It's good I'm getting my tube checked Monday as last night it moved again! I have no idea how because I even taped it down. I'm now keeping it taped down until they check it over for me.

PSB Sounds awesome! I had lucky charms for breakfast. My first real meal in weeks and I did NOT feel sick! I'm so amazed! :)

Cish I'm sorry to hear about your hubby's anxiety. I have really really bad anxiety. What kind of stuff sets your husband's off?

Crazy Joe is good. His body pains are almost gone. He started his antibiotic for the cyst though and that's making him feel a bit sluggish.

The other driver is already in jail. Turned out not only was he on probation (just released from jail) but he was also high on Meth. So if he was insuranceless too it will be another charge for him and hopefully keep him in jail a while longer!

I'm sorry to hear your DSIS is unwell!

We had a dramatic morning. Not for us but for our neighbors. The neighbor lady turned up at our door screaming to help her because she didn't know how to do CPR and her husband was down and she couldn't move him. BUT her husband is 430 lbs and I'm in a wheelchair and Joe's back goes out regularly and we couldn't help her. Two ambulances came and she was outside screaming about her husband (her kids were NOT There thankfully) It was horrific to watch. They got her husband into the ambulance while bagging him (the thing that breathes into him when they push it) and they were going to lifeline him to the hospital up north. :( When they moved in the husband told Joe he had lung cancer. So I'm wondering if it got the better on him :( Very very sad. Their little boys are very young I think about 8 or 9 and maybe 11.

I did finish the tubie pads for the little girl. So I hope you all don't mind me sharing them with you. I figure when I get my hands on some Christmas fabric I'll share with you the Christmas ones I make too. I got a nice pattern for some holiday shaped ones too.

She ended up wearing a top, denim jacket and jeans Mrs! Hmm😂

Had shepherd's pie for supper, DD came home at 6.10, DS2 was in bed by 7, DD will go at 9.35. 😋😴

Mrsmadevans · 23/02/2019 20:38

Just had tea, ham salad courtesy of DH , very nice too bless him Smile
Fluffy l BET you are really sore , hope you are relaxing 'on your arse' now m'dear! Grin
Crazy , good to see you here m'dear, DH is over the moon with the rugby, l dread it tbh so l listened to the Archers Grin. I loved Steve Irwin , we all did , we used to watch him with the DDS, they were of the age to watch him and he was such a lovely man with the animals, always on their side and you could just see he loved them bless his heart Sad . They say he always knew he would die at the hands of an animal , l don't know how true that is .
PETA had no business saying that about Steve , he was an ardent conservationist , no doubt he would be right in the heart of the plastic pollution in the oceans if he were still alive . He is much missed by myself and my family and we can't be the only ones , it must be repeated world wide . He will always be remembered fondly by us and l am sure a lot of ppl are waiting to see what his DC will do . However there will only ever be one Steve as far as l am concerned. l didn't realise how much l missed and cared about him but l do now !
l will get off my soapbox now Smile
Hope your Dsis is better very soon and in the meantime enjoy the DC bless you for helping her out Flowers
PSB I thought she may not wear a dress afterwards Xmas Grin we know what they are like Grin. I am sure she looked lovely and had a great time though so that is all that matters Grin
Wheelie oh that is so unlucky for your Joe but thank God he is alright Flowers it sounds like it could have been much worse with the driver being under the influence of Meth as well Shock
Ahhh Lilah is all mended just wonderful! Smile
Your poor NDN , it does sound as if there is really little hope for him though tbh poor man . You nor Joe could do anything about it so please don't feel bad Flowers. Hope the appt for your tube goes well , l am sure you won't be long before you get your button , the sooner the better yay! Grin
Am just going to have a cuppa and some blueberries , we are being healthy today MrsMad Xmas Grin
Hope the rest of your Sat evening is lovely everyone Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 23/02/2019 20:38

Oh no, Wheelie, how awful for your neighbour. Those pads are lovely! You're very talented.

The green you can see is onions and garlic, planted last autumn. They're doing well!

My raspberry canes have started to get leaves poking through the soil, 50% of them are sprouting. My fruit trees have buds on, as have my redcurrant bushes (which we thought were dead as my neighbour - who'd offered to water while we were away - let them totally dry out last summer). My bare root shrubs all have signs of life too. I love this time of year with all the promise of the season to come. 😊

DS must've been knackered tonight as he went sleep during his second story. I knew he was tired as he'd rolled onto his left side, which he does when he's too tired to look at the book. He's never actually nodded off though! 😂 Poor sausage!

WheelchairWoes · 23/02/2019 21:03

PSB Shepherd's Pie sounds delicious! Sleep tight to your DD!

Mrs I don't think it sounds good for him either honestly. :( I'm just so glad their kids weren't there to see all that. I'll keep you all updated on my Monday appointment too!

Hope you have a fantastic cuppa and blueberries! I'll be hooking up to my formula before too long!

Fluffy Thank you! I'm getting the pads in the mail Monday to the little girl.

I love seeing green. It feels like it's been years since I saw green outside now lol. I'm so tired of rain and gray! We don't have anything budding out yet but I'll let you know when I see my first flower lol

Your poor DS lol he sounds knackered

Mrsmadevans · 23/02/2019 21:54

PSB thank you for that link Flowers it was lovely to see it , to hear his voice in something l have not seen before Smile
Fluffy, the allotment is doing great you will be ok if it's a hard Brexit you will be able to live off the land no trouble! Your DS must have been so tired love him Smile
Wheelie am keeping fingers crossed for you on Monday Smile have eaten the blueberries and am now scoffing lemon and lime Jaffa cakes, they are lovely ! Hope your poor NDN has some good news soon Sad

PhilomenaButterfly · 23/02/2019 22:05

You're welcome Mrs, it's made me all weepy again. 😢

Mrsmadevans · 23/02/2019 22:13

Ahhh PSB l know it is such a sad sad thing. I don't think he would want us to be upset though , he would want us to be happy and larger than life full of kindness, laughter and fun, just like he was , bless his beautiful heart Smile

CrazyBaubles · 23/02/2019 22:22

PSB Thank you for posting that. I've never seen it before. We're quite enjoying rewatching Steve on Discovery (I think). We introduced our 8 year old nephew to him a few months ago. He's half horrified and half in awe of his attitude towards animals. Helps that he (nephew) is a bit obsessed with snakes.

MrsMad I can't believe you didn't watch the rugby, it was a heart stopping second half.
My younger SIL is welsh and her partner is English. She sent me some lovely photos of them in their respective shirts throughout the match. In the last one he had his head in his hands and she was stood behind him waving the welsh flag and wearing a daffodil hat 😂 (he's a good sport to be fair).

I am now waiting for DH to appear from the pub and trying to motivate myself to crochet...

Morning! 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 24/02/2019 09:00

Morning!

I've got another busy day today. So far I've made Yorkshire puddings and have dough proving by the rad in the front room to make a loaf!

Then it's into the garden to do more seed-sowing and digging my green manure into the earth (which is proving trickier than anticipated!).

I need to mend my poly greenhouses and had some tape arrive this week, so that's my first job, I think. When the lawn has dried off I'll probably mow too.

Thankfully I'm not aching quite so much today. Though today's efforts may be kill or cure! 😂

LavenderBelle · 24/02/2019 13:26

Hi I’m pregnant with my first baby so thought it’d be useful to join this thread to get some ideas on what to do for his first Christmas, he’ll only be 5 months old but I want to make it special for him

Mrsmadevans · 24/02/2019 14:39

Afternoon everyone Grin
Been to the parents , rugby on in a min Hmm
What have you been up to today? Grin
Crazy l have been put off the Rugby by my DSis and her DH coming here for years and years, every time the six nations was on Hmm. I am glad they won but l don't enjoy watching it anymore Sad
Fluffy your cooking sounds delish l am salivating at the sound of your fresh bread m'dear! Xmas Grin Glad you are not aching so badly today , l am sure you will be fine , isn't it 1 week tomorrow you go in for your op? My Mums friend called in today and l think she has had the same op as you recently , it sounded like it anyway , she said it was painful but as soon as she had it done the terrible nagging ache had gone and she was so relieved Smile won't be long ! In the meantime enjoy your gardening the weather is just gorgeous if it is like it is here !
PSB your lunch sounds delish as always ! Xmas Grin
Better shift going to have a nice cuppa , read the paper and a chill
Have a lovely Sunday afternoon everyone Xmas Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 24/02/2019 14:54

Making smoky chipotle chicken enchiladas for supper. 😋🍗

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/02/2019 15:14

Welcome Lavender. My advice would be don't exhaust yourself and make sure you take lots of photos. Don't feel under pressure to include the wider family in everything you do.

One thing I have seen on here that I wish I had known about when mine were little is buying a lovely tree decoration every year with a view to giving them to your child when they leave home.

Mrsmadevans · 24/02/2019 15:32

Woolly that is such a lovely idea Xmas Smile l wish l had done that too!

LavenderBelle · 24/02/2019 15:34

@Wooly Thank you, that’s a great idea. I’ll definitely make sure to do that. I don’t think we’ll be seeing family this year anyway, would be nice to have a Christmas with just the 3 of us.

PhilomenaButterfly · 24/02/2019 15:47

Lavender babies love the lights and decorations, I'd say a "My First Christmas" t-shirt's a must!

LavenderBelle · 24/02/2019 15:52

@Philomena We’ll definitely get a lot of ‘baby’s first Christmas’ Things. I’ll put lots of lights up too. I’m so excited

NoWordForFluffy · 24/02/2019 16:20

Hi Lavender!

My DS was 5 months for his first Christmas and DD was 6 months.

Definitely 'My first Christmas' sleepsuit / vest / bib etc. They'll still sleep for most of the day at that age, so just have a lazy day with the 3 of you. Maybe get your dinner in all pre-prepared from M&S or elsewhere. It'll be lovely!

Mrs, it's a week on Thursday for the op. That's good to know, thank you. It's nice to hear stories of successful operations!

I ended up making pizza base dough for the kids on top of the bread as DD wanted to make pizza for lunch. They really enjoyed them!

I fetched my fork from the allotment, did a quick bit of weeding and watering while I was there, and then did some digging here plus sowed a load of seeds. The peas have all been eaten by mice at the allotment, so I've done seeds in trays to take and plant as baby plants instead. I'll net them until they're large so the birds don't eat them instead!

I've sown chillies and peppers today and will do more once these are through as it's possible to have too many seedlings on the go when you've limited space! 😂

LavenderBelle · 24/02/2019 18:27

Thank you @Fluffy, all this advice has been great. Is this just a general chat thread then, just from what I gather from everyone’s posts it seems like that. You don’t mind if I intrude do you?

Mrsmadevans · 24/02/2019 19:03

Evening all Xmas Grin Lavender we talk about everything here and you are very welcome Smile
I can imagine the DC loved the pizzas Fluffy , l used to make a base with no yeast , using flour water and oil and they were lovely . l am useless with yeast , l don't know what it is. l am just unable to get a good rise from it . My DH says l beat/knead the yeast to death lol Xmas Grin
I am sure you will be fine having the op, you are prime patient material for the surgeon , l expect he is rubbing his gloves in glee Smile He isn't used to having fit healthy women like you , he is more used to old overweight creaking wimmen like me Xmas Grin. We have some chilli pepper seeds. l think l will get Dh to plant them and see how we get on with them. I expect they will be weak and feeble Xmas Grin Hmm
Just had roast pork salad courtesy of DH again bless him !
