I may still take him though he has hurt his foot and gout has settled into it and he may need steroids, so we shall see . He seemed a little bit better tonight my DD1 sat with him for Mum to go to Dance club bless her , she's a good un Smile
So what have you all been up to today m'dears? Let me see Grin
Wheelie , l can imagine your fearful reaction to the dreaded phone call but thank goodness Joe is ok . I BET he is feeling a bit battered and bruised bless him Flowers

Better shift to bed lots to do tomorrow as per Grin , have a good night everyone Smile

WheelchairWoes · 22/02/2019 00:30

PSB that sounds lovely! We have a very large book store chain that has lovely little cafes in them. I adore it

As for parties my youngest would probably choose a dress too! LOL She likes kind of 50s dresses though (takes after her mom) also sweater dresses and leggings are hot right now with girls their age!

Fluffy Yeah it is just too expensive for us to pay for an insurance that will cover us too. That sounds terrible but it's true.

Mrs Well my dad has told us for months and months when our car bit the bullet and died he'd gift us his car because he wanted a newer one. So today we got our new car title and license plate all taken care of. We will hopefully in the next week get my lift put on our new car.

I'm still pretty stressed and I admit I've been easily moved to tears today. I didn't realize HOW MUCH it affected me until today.

It was a long day and I'm going to bed early tonight. I love you all!!

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/02/2019 07:02

Morning! DS2's awake. 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 22/02/2019 07:31

Morning!

It's the adrenaline rush you had when you got the call, Wheelie. It takes time to release that and crying is a natural reaction to the stress chemicals. But at least Joe is fine and you have a new (to you) car sorted.

Did you find out if the other driver was insured? Insurance is weird here, they always say to check both types as sometimes the better one is cheaper depending on the company! Odd, eh?!

Weather forecast is gorgeous today. Very spring-like! ☀️

Mrsmadevans · 22/02/2019 08:43

Morning everyone 😀
Off up the parents early to get her to the doctor. It's a routine check as such really, a review of her meds and check on her legs and knees, which are red as hell again 🙄.
Wheelie that is wonderful of your Dad to do that for you. It's times like this when family is everything. I am not surprised you were very emotional . It is such a shock , hope you are feeling better today 💐🤗
Fluffy isn't it a beautiful day 😃 have a great time in Speke Hall today .
Better shift speak LTR have a great day everyone 😀

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/02/2019 08:54

I'm glad Joe's okay Wheelie and that you've got a new car. Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 22/02/2019 16:51

Afternoon everyone Xmas Grin
Dad seems better today on just the one Citalopram thankfully, Mum has antibiotics for her cellulitis, Voltarol gel for her knee, antibiotic/steroidal cream for her sore ears from the Hearing aids, bloods done for Blood sugar , kidney function and thyroid , Dr wants to check she isn't diabetic because she had a raised blood sugar on finger prick testing, l said to her Mum likes a pud and a cake and at 87 l don't see the point in making her adhere to a strict diet let her do what she wants within reason, the Gp agreed with me , she is just checking it and said not to worry Mum about it. She can have a steroid injection into her knees after the infection has gone so she is sorted ! Xmas Grin Didn't get home till gone 2 and went there at 9 to get her ready for the Drs Smile , never mind it is only every so often Smile
It would be Steve Irwin's 57th birthday today Sad such a lovely man bless him Smile his DC have not fallen far from the tree but he was just something special Star
Hope everyone had a good day Smile the weather has been glorious Smile prob speak ltr m'dears !

NoWordForFluffy · 22/02/2019 18:31

Good news about your dad, Mrs! And so agree re your mum too.

We've had a lovely day. Nice and warm at Speke, so perfect for our wander and picnic, then we've had dinner at the pub near school which was lovely too! We walked so had a couple of drinks. Almost unheard of with the kids!

Bath time and bed now. Phew!

Allotment day tomorrow. We got even more seeds that need sowing now too. £1 for 3 packs in Dobbies where we had our tea and cake so we didn't pay NT prices (we get two free hot drinks a month with our Dobbies' membership, which saved us money).

So sad about Steve Irwin. He died far too young. There's an extra on the Happy Feet 2 DVD with him as an albatross talking about conservation. Makes me cry every time.

Had lasagne for lunch, ham and mushroom tagliatelle and garlic bread for supper, DS2 was in bed by 5.05, DD by 8.25, I'm in bed now. 😋😋😴

NoWordForFluffy · 22/02/2019 21:17

I went to his zoo when I was in Oz. Brilliant place!

PSB l must have a look for him in Happy feet 2, he has left a chasm that no one seems to have filled yet , such a good bloke with a genuine love for animals . Your meals sound lovely , you are in bed early tonight !
Talking of which, l had better get to bed , picking up Mums friend in the morning to take to see them and must get Mum some flowers to give their NDN it is her 60th birthday Grin !
Have a good night sleep everyone Smile

WheelchairWoes · 22/02/2019 23:06

Fluffy We are still waiting! The claims agent said he'll contact us when he knows something. But since the person was just out of jail and ran we are thinking they weren't insured. :(

We are having lots of rain. Today Joe had to go to the doctor because of a cyst on his face of all things! They cut it open and fixed it so we'll see how it heals.

Mrs My dad is so amazing. I wish I could express to you all how much I love him. He's not my biological father but he's been my daddy since I was 5 months old. Like I adore him.

I'm sorry your mom has cellulitis again :( Do they know why it's reoccurring? I'm glad your daddy is feeling a bit better.

Steve Irwin has been on my mind today. I miss him a lot.

PSB It's a very lovely car. So much roomier and more comfy for me and my kids with our disabilities! Much better. ALSO? My manual wheelchair fits in the trunk very well!

Fluffy Was your picnic a traditional picnic? My kids keep saying this spring we're taking a checked blanket and a picnic basket and doing a REAL picnic lol

Take pics of your allotment!

PSB Lasagna is a favorite of mine! I miss it!! I go to IR on Monday to check the placement of my J and make sure it's in the right place. I'm going to ask them about my button then too! It will be 6 weeks on Monday so fingers crossed.

I had blood taken today so hopefully my levels are all fantastic :) Lilah tomorrow will have free reign of the house again. Right now she's asleep in my wehelchair with a blankie and baby lol.

My daddy got his new car today and he loves it :)

Beyond that we're just hanging out watching The Masked SInger

Wheelie your dad sounds lovely. Hopefully Joe is on the mend now and your new car is brilliant.

MrsMad you sound sensible about your mum's diet and I'm sure you keep track of her anyway. My poor mum had dire warnings about borderline blood sugars and cholesterol and even when she was dying refused a cream scone (her favourite) because she thought the doctor would be cross.

Fluffy Speke Hall Envy were the daffodils out? EnvyEnvy

Afternoon everyone Grin
Am just sitting down with the family to watch the Rugby Xmas Hmm
Not my fave way to spend a beautiful, sunny Saturday but not much l can do about it , at least my horrid sister and her Dh aren't here Grin normally they come for the whole day of rugby and she makes my life a misery taking the mickey and talking over me Hmm . Since the row l have not even seen them and although l am sad and miss them , l know it is for the best for me in the future .
Wheelie your Dad sounds so lovely no wonder you love him like you do Smile . Lovely that he is happy with his new car . Hope Joe's face is ok now and the cyst has gone , Dr Pimple Popper comes to mind Xmas Grin she is always doing cysts lol Grin, Mum has Varicose eczema and the skin on her lower legs are pitted with enlarged follicles which make it easier for the bugs to get into and cause infection. We tried elasticated stockings but they just made her legs really bruised with small petechial bruising. The GP said to leave them off now as they are not doing her any good. Great news that Lilah is fit and healthy and raring to go YAY!! Hope your button can be put in when the time comes , 6 weeks isn't long to go !
Hope you are enjoying the allotment Fluffy you have the perfect weather for it if it is anything like here Smile
Am just off for a cuppa have a lovely Sat everyone Grin

Mrsmadevans · 23/02/2019 14:25

Woolly l cross posted lol Grin . Ahhh that is such a shame your DM couldn't enjoy her favourite treat bless her heart Flowers
l think at 87, how much longer has Mum got , she's got heart failure, terrible arthritis, fibromyalgia , hypothyroidism, high cholesterol, terrible blood pressure , these awful legs , irritable bowel disease and probably type 2 Diabetes now. So l think let her have a little of what she likes . l am just glad l have a GP who is like minded and very down to earth and compassionate. l don't want her to die but letting her have a treat now and again isn't going to kill her Smile
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday Woolly Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 23/02/2019 14:29

Went to the Sainsbury's café for brunch, the DC had bitesize breakfasts, I had a ham and cheese omelette, DD went to the party at 12.50. 😋🍳🍳

CishAndFips · 23/02/2019 15:34

Morning all. Its been a stressful few days here. DH's anxiety has kicked off, i hate seeing him so low i wish i could take it away from him. Hopefully today he seems to be coming out the other side. We are at friends now for dinner, it will be early night for the DC's then its going to be lots of cuddles on the sofa for DH.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/02/2019 16:14

Argghh. Just typed loads and lost my message.

So, start again.

Cish, I'm sorry to hear about your DH. I hope you're right and he's turning a corner now.

Mrs, I agree that you're sensible re your mum. With so many ailments, and being 87, a treat every now and then is deserved and won't be what sees her off!

Woolly, I'm sorry your mum felt like that; it's really sad.

Wheelie, how annoying you don't know yet. But at least you have your new car which is perfect for you.

I've spent 6 hours at the allotment. I'm broken!

I have:

Finished weeding in between the autumn garlic;
Planted some spring garlic where I'd removed the weeds;
Dug over about 12-15m2 of ground, removing loads of roots as I did so, to go with the 1/3 of a bulk bag of weeds removed from there when I first dug it over (I dug it twice that time!);
Raked the same area;
Planted some more flowers at the front of the plot to brighten it up;
Got my runner bean canes up;
Got my raspberry canes / wires up to support the plants when they grow (Wilko gardening wire appears to want to be a Slinky which made this hard going! 😂);
Got two rows of parsnip seeds in, which I covered with fleece as they're fussy buggers; and
Got a row of broad bean seeds in.

I got a massive root up which was twice the length of my - size 8 - foot!

I'm currently having a bath as I ache.

PSB what dress did she wear after ? Hope she had a great time Smile
Cish hope you are having a lovely time this evening and DH chills out and relaxes , anxiety is horrible bless him Flowers
Fluffy you have done so much . Well done my goodness you are amazing you work so hard Flowers. I am always losing the damn messages on my mob that is why l do several smaller ones now Hmm. Blasted phones Grin. Thank you for your supportive comments re Mum . l like to think it's a balance of what is best for her in the long run. That weed root system is massive! Grin
l don't know how you do it all, you are just like Biddy Grin
Just listening to the Archers . l must remember to listen to it more often because l do enjoy it , have a lovely Saturday evening everyone Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 23/02/2019 19:20

I think I might be dead! 😂😂😂

Though if I was, I wouldn't hurt this much. Very sore now, it has to be said.

I think Biddy does way more than I do. I sit on my arse of an evening and I'm pretty sure Biddy never does! Grin
