Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

I have a friend with CP, it always looks so painful for her to walk, but I've never heard her complain.

PhilomenaButterfly · 17/02/2019 11:22

DD had chocolate pancakes. 😋🍫

CrazyBaubles · 17/02/2019 11:35

Niece has been diagnosed with diplegic CP. As she's so young it's hard to know if she's going to be able to walk but dr's are hopeful because she seems so determined to get around. She's 18months and has only been crawling for a few weeks (before this she did an army crawl, basically dragging her body behind her using her elbows to move).
It was a shock for everyone but now we're putting practical steps in place to support dsis as she has 2 other dc to consider as well.

Thanks for the good luck Fluffy I think I'll need it - competition is stiff for this one.

I had slight whiplash after the accident but it doesn't seem to have lasted long. I have an old injury at the bottom of my spine which was triggered but my lovely chiropractor has sorted that. It's a little achey but fine now. I'm more devastated about my car.

Fluffy sounds like you have a fun day planned. Do you have any pics of your flowers and the allotment now? I'm always amazed with how far it's come.

Wheels I'm assuming the feeds and weight gain are going well?

PSB Chocolate pancakes sound lovely. We settled for a bacon & egg sandwich for breakfast

PhilomenaButterfly · 17/02/2019 11:38

Making chicken Dijon for lunch. 😋🍗

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2019 13:01

I'll get some photos in a bit, Crazy. We're just heading back from the beach!

It's a life of form filling and appointments with CP, but your sister has support, which is the main thing.

Mrsmadevans · 17/02/2019 15:54

Afternoon everyone Xmas Grin
Parents are fine today Smile my DDS called to see them when we were there. l was just trimming Mum's hairs on her chinny chin chin lol and they cut their nails for me bless them. Not a nice job at the best of times but very necessary, needing doing every 2 weeks really . We did a lot there again today , put the rest of the covers back on the suite after hoovering the seating underneath , it's surprising how many crumbs get down there Smile. l don't get the inclination to do mine lol not after caring for the parents we just come home and collapse Grin
Lovely food as per PSB the chicken & broccoli pie sounds delish ! l get you being teary eyed over the beautiful rose square on DS1 blanket , the thought that ppl have gone out of their way to make it for another person is so kind of them . There are good ppl in the world even though it doesn't seem like it sometimes Smile I wanted to cry too bless you . I hope DS1 is getting much better and his weight is climbing he must be so down on times it is such an awful disease Flowers
Crazy ahh lovely to see you here sweetie hope everything is settling down now , what an awful time you have had lately. I am so sorry about your little niece ahh bless her , she sounds like a little darling though and determind to do her utmost, nothing is going to stop her Xmas Smile. Hope you are recovering well from your accident and get a new even cuter car than before, main thing is you are alright nothing else matters Flowers. I am sure it will take you a good while to recover from your Darling Aunt's death and funeral Crazy but l think if you can concentrate on the good in your life and aim for the difficult to attain promotion it will give you a great boost especially if you get the job ! Xmas Grin Everything crossed for you m'dear Flowers
Fluffy your day sounds just lovely what a fabulous day for the DC the beach and the squirrel wood just wonderful ! Enjoy the parsnip planting Xmas Grin . Thank you m'dear, it WAS a lovely day just because ...you know some days ARE just good for no particular reason Smile. I have had a lot of support from my family and friends re Dsis and they have every man Jack of them told me it is not me and it is her. Sometimes you just need to hear this reassurance from others who are unbiased and know us both Smile.
Oh yes l remember what l wanted to ask you here now has any of us here heard of a new knitting or crochet book just out, only My Mum has seen one advertised and she can't remember the name of it . I have looked everywhere !
Am just off to make a cuppa have a lovely rest of the afternoon everyone Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/02/2019 16:04

MrsMad I answered your question on your other thread.

Crazy lovely to see you back. Best of luck with your promotion. Your little niece sounds very determined.

PSB as a Woolly Hugger I can tell you that it is amazing to hear that the blankets are loved by their recipients and their families.

Fluffy you are always so busy. I'm lying on my bed drinking tea, eating a kitkat and MNing. I might crochet later if I can rouse the energy.

I wonder how Biddy is doing?

CishAndFips · 17/02/2019 16:47

Afternoon all Its been a busy few days here. Dinner on Friday was lovely although poor DD was exhausted, i think she is still addapting to pre school.

Yesterday was our second Christmas shopping trip. I managed to get a hand bag sized Elizabeth arden red door perfume for £7 for my DM and some Le shark boxers £8 for DH.

Friend and I had our compulsory costa latte and went for an all you can eat for Chinese for lunch.

Went out for a few cocktails last night to celebrate DH's new job. DC's are still at my parents and wont be back for another hour or so. I was saying to DH last night i think i have already been out more times this year than i did in the whole of last year.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2019 17:33

Mrs, I'm not surprised you're exhausted after looking after your parents. When will their care start? That should free you up a bit, hopefully.

Woolly, that sounds like an ideal afternoon. 😁

Cish, sounds like you had a lovely day / evening.

Biddy is off somewhere being way busier than me! I don't really feel that busy, it has to be said. 😂

I forgot the parsnip seeds! So I raked where I've dug recently and weeded between the onions and garlic. Didn't quite finish, but no doubt they'll be there waiting for me next time!

I think most of my snowdrops are out now. They're all sad singles, but there should be more next year. The ones I liberated are doing OK, so I can't have harmed them!

Loads of the bulbs have sprouted. Can't wait for them to flower too. Should look amazing then.

I need more garlic sets I think. Must google for suppliers!

Two of the squirrels ate from our hands today. Apparently that's bad, but hey ho!

(Most of the green on the left photo are sprouted spring bulbs. There are some weeds, but not too many as I weeded recently!)

Woolly DS1 wrapped himself up in his Hug during chemo as it makes you cold, and the colour scheme's so bright and cheerful. He asked if he had to give it back now he doesn't have cancer anymore! 😂

He did have it draped over his computer chair, but I think it might have been put away somewhere. Hmm

He does suffer from depression, I'm not really surprised, he has his computer and his Lego and that's it. Not much of a life for a 28yo. He always puts on weight in hospital. He eats more because he's less congested, and they make him do his night feeds.

Deloused, DS2 went to bed at 5.35, DD will go at 9.10. 😴

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/02/2019 20:57

Oh PSB your DS1 has been through the mill, hasn't he?

Cish I'm in awe. You are 2 Christmas shopping trips up on me. I'm organising a trip with my DDs for the autumn but I don't have any plans for anything sooner.

PhilomenaButterfly · 17/02/2019 21:42

Yup Woolly. Yet he's so laid back he's horizontal. He spends a lot of time talking to his online friends can't think where he gets that from. 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 18/02/2019 06:00

Morning!

Last week of dire commute this week, then it's back to normal. It's been awful since Christmas, in the main, so I'm looking forward to a straight forward journey from next week!

DS ended up in with us last night. We need to swap his duvet back down to a 4.5 tog one as he was too hot under the 10 tog.

My shoulder aches today. Sigh.

Morning! The DC had chocolate pancakes and chocolate brioche rolls. 😋🍫🍫

CrazyBaubles · 18/02/2019 15:35

Thanks for the welcome back Woolly Xmas Smile

The pics look lovely as always Fluffy You've worked so hard on that allotment. It looks as though you're putting the ones next to yours to shame!

MrsMad I hope you're ok and resting up? It takes a lot out of you to care for others.

Hope everyone's day is going well? Mine is busy as always because work is nuts!
I've finally started my New Years resolution of taking vitamins and going back on some medication which I stopped a while ago and have delayed starting again because it makes me feel awful for the first 2 weeks 🙄

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2019 16:54

Afternoon everyone 😀
Been so busy today only just sat down . I honestly think I did less when l was working! 🤗
Anyway, both the parents are fine today but it is a good 3 - 4 hours every day and even then it is not including appts, shopping and outings . I don't mind a bit don't get me wrong just it is an awful lot of work and that is with the 2 of us doing it. The care last is coming on Friday so fingers crossed it will be the start of some help for us 😊
Woolly thank you so much for your help re the mag , it was the right one! 😃Mum was overjoyed 😊. You are brilliant to do the woolly hugs thank you for doing it , the work is simply beautiful.

Crazy, I hope the medication isn't as bad this time. Flowers

Mrs, you're so busy, bless you. You're such a good daughter. Flowers

Yay for Woolly knowing what you needed, Mrs!

On the way home now. I summoned DH to collect me from Ormskirk station.

OP posts:
PhilomenaButterfly · 18/02/2019 18:24

We didn't get any results Mrs, the GP said no news is good news, and he's fine now. The last thing to reintroduce is fruit juice, which we'll do tomorrow, if he's okay with that, it wasn't a sugar intolerance.

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2019 18:39

Fluffy get home asap and put your feet up and rest , it's such a long day for you but tomoz is your Weds yay! Thank you for the praise re the parents you are too kind Flowers
Have visited my NDN this afternoon too , he is very well but lonely poor thing , l don't have the time to go and see him like l used to but he has 5 calls a day from his carers and meals on wheels so he is not too bad for seeing ppl , his DD1 visits once a fortnight overnight and his niece every week but he is still on his own a lot although he is lucky he has what he does tbh so many ppl have no visitors or family to visit them.
Had a lovely ham salad for tea courtesy of DH after bless him Xmas Grin he is a good un Smile
Have a lovely evening everyone Smile

CrazyBaubles · 18/02/2019 20:58

Cish I missed your post earlier. 2 Christmas shopping trips already? That's amazing. My Christmas prep amounts to buying wrapping paper and cards and crocheting 2 holly leaves Blush

MrsMad your sister is still being a pain I take it? I've just seen your other thread. I think she's bloody mean and your parents are lucky to have you.

I'm testing my non existent limited knowledge of technology and setting up a fit bit my mum gave me. Fingers crossed it kicks me up the arse and gets me moving so I can get the weight off quicker 🏃🏼‍♀️
