Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Enjoy your sewing, Wheelie. Can't wait to see the results!

That's pretty darn cold, isn't it?! DH got me a new merino base layer top this week. I wore it at the allotment today, together with another thin long sleeved top, my down gilet and my rain coat and I was snug and warm even though the winds were biting!

We have our first snowdrops! They've just peeped out this week (and weren't the shoots I thought they were! Blush ). Another plot holder said she was going to dig some up from a plot without a tenant, so I went and got 6 clumps which I've put in various places without bulbs in. They'll spread nicely next year too!

I did a load more digging, to get the ground ready for crops. I need to get my leeks sown indoors this weekend and I put some lettuce seeds in the ground direct today (a couple of weeks' early, but they'll be fine, hopefully). Busy, busy!

Fluffy OMG SNOWDROPS! They are my all time favorite!

Your allotment looks fantastic! And yes it's soooooo cold! I'm just hanging out in the house today. No plans really.

I am planning on buying and planting a tree this spring. I really want an ornamental weeping cherry tree so I've saved up the money to buy one as soon as the store gets them in. I bought one a few years ago at our other house but the yard flooded really bad and killed my tree. I cried and cried. So now we are in a new home with a yard that doesn't flood I'm going to plant one. :)

Making king prawn makhani for supper. 😋🍛

NoWordForFluffy · 09/02/2019 17:19

Wheelie, here's a photo of some of my 'stolen' snowdrops. Hopefully they won't mind the move too much!

I love those cherry trees too. I hope you manage to get one. So sad about your last one.

Fluffy Awww I hope they take to their replanting very well! I'm so excited to see flowers lol

Here's a photo of my old tree from above before we planted it. I'm not sure how it is in the UK but in the USA if you are rural we have tractor supply stores. They are for farmers and we have one across the street from us and they carry these trees every year! So hopefully I'll be able to get a new one this year :)

I'm hoping to find one with pink blossoms this year

Give it a few weeks and there'll be an abundance of flowers and colours on the allotment. I can't wait. I might go every day when I'm off sick after my op!

Morning! It's rained here overnight. Thankfully our washing got almost-dry last night, so we brought it in before bed to put on the airer. Good choice or it would've been soaking now! It's going to dry up now, so our bedding will dry when it gets put out shortly.

We're off to see The Grinch this morning. DH doesn't go with us. I'm not sure what he'll do with himself! 😂 Enjoy the peace no doubt!

Are there no spring flowers near you, Wheelie? I love seeing them all come through. I ordered more flower seeds yesterday. I think I have a problem!

Morning! Had eggs and bacon, DD also had toast. Just deloused everyone again. They must be hiding in DS2's very short hair, 3 dead ones came out!

Mrsmadevans · 10/02/2019 14:25

Afternoon everyone Xmas Grin
Those nits are awfully hard to get rid of PSB l think it took me weeks of conditioning and using the nit combs to get rid of them out of the DDS hair when they were little. They had very thick long hair it was so hard to get rid of them .
Been up to the parents , showered them both , they had friends for coffee who stayed for hours lol , Mum was so tired she wanted them to go and they wouldn't get the message . It is lovely for them to see their friends though , keeps them going . Dad was a right misery guts , refusing to have a shower and then going on about them outstaying their welcome Xmas Grin. Dh did them a lovely Lunch, beef hotpot and broad beans , apple crumble and cream for afters yummy!
Fluffy weather much better here now warmer and sunny , little bit of wind perfect drying weather lol. Hope you all enjoyed the Grinch Fluffy Xmas Grin.
Wheelie glad the sewing is going well , hope you enjoyed the film night it sounds fab Xmas Grin still can't get on to MN with Google Chrome Hmm
Am just going to have a cuppa and watch the next series of Great British Sewing Bee while DH watches the Rugby , have a lovely afternoon everyone Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2019 16:18

I liked The Grinch (though I did cry as it's kinda sad when you find out why he hates Christmas!). I think DD was crying too!

I've then been productive and been and got new ink cartridges for the printer plus a few other bits, as well as posting the old cartridges to a recycling place. We are now re-stocked with loo roll and colour catcher sheets (Dr Beckmann, and awesome in a colours wash!), so all is good!

I've then put some chitted spuds in a growing sack outside as the chits were so stupidly long they needed to go out, and also sowed some leek seeds which are now in our room for germination.

All in all a good day.

What's your dinner, Mrs? I hope you've got something as nice as your parents had?!

Almost dinner time now, then the bath / bed routine will commence. It's like Groundhog Day! 😂

CishAndFips · 10/02/2019 18:12

fluffy very productive day. I hope you enjoyed the grinch. Weve just done baths here pre dinner so a bit back to front today.
philomena i flipping hate nits DD went through a stage of having them all the time. Luckily we haven't seen any for months. I have been through it with the comb today though after the dreaded notice went up at pre school.
mrsmad parents tea sounds lovely hope yours is equally as nice.
We have just all settled down on the sofa with a duvet to watch a film.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2019 18:30

We've never had nits yet! There's a sign up by DS' class that they've been seen in there though. So maybe soon.

Bedtime now. Thank god!

Had gammon hock in cider sauce with mustard mash for lunch, Thai green chicken curry for supper, DS2 was in bed by 6.50, DD will go at 9, have laid uniforms out and swapped washing over on radiators. 😋😋🍛😴

Mrsmadevans · 10/02/2019 22:18

Evening all Xmas Grin
Just watched Endeavor , l love series like Morse, Endeavor, Lewis & Midsomer Murders. I like trying to figure out who did the dirty deed and why Xmas Grin
Fluffy am glad you enjoyed The Grinch . lt is sad though . Ahh bless you and DD Flowers . Well done on the leeks and the pots ! When you retire you will be able to garden to your hearts desire Smile. Did you see Kate Middleton is doing a garden for Chelsea , twill be just fab l bet! I like her, she seems a very sweet person. Fluffy, we had marmite on toast for our dinner Blush truth be told now we look after the parents we don't look after ourselves because we are so exhausted, mentally and physically. I know it is bad of us, we need to stop it . I need to get new cartridges for the printer , have got plenty of loo roll, got my priorities right lol. Will try the Dr Beckhams colour catcher sounds just the job for my Mum's purple duvet cover set lol Xmas Grin. Hope the commute isn't too bad tomorrow Flowers
PSB loving the sound of your food too yummy!
Cish hope you avoid the Nits yuckky little horrors! Hmm
Nearl Bedtime, have a great nights sleep everyone Xmas Grin

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. 😋Brew

NoWordForFluffy · 11/02/2019 08:21

Morning!

I like that kind of programme too, Mrs.

I didn't see that KM is doing a garden, I'm sure it'll be lovely!

And I reckon I'll die at my desk the way it's going pension-wise! No time for gardening.

Do you have a slow cooker, Mrs? I know that people prep meals in bags and freeze them, get them out to defrost overnight then turn them on and they have a nice dinner waiting for them. Or just cook for you at your parents' house? Even if you take it home to reheat it's better than Marmite on toast!

My commute was fine today as I had a lift in. Bus tonight and tomorrow though as my lift doesn't work Mon PM or Tues. Thankfully only 2 more weeks of disruption.

Low sugar breakfast for the DC this morning was wholemeal muffins, strawberries and natural yoghurt. I'm currently sitting in the school office waiting for a family coach meeting. 😋🍓

Mrsmadevans · 11/02/2019 09:21

Morning everyone Xmas Grin
PSB, Carol the weather in a very fetching dress this morning , she said we were going to have good weather, warm and dry this week too so that will be lovely. I have noticed the days drawing out too, which l love Xmas Smile Hope you have the results from DS2 sample soon so you know what you are dealing with Flowers
Fluffy l do have a slow cooker and use it sporadically and really enjoy using it too, you are right it is just a case of getting more organised. This terrible row with my Dsis has taken it out of me. l have not seen her for 8 weeks and while l do not miss her awful treatment of me and other ppl , l am sad over it . We just message each other over Messenger about 3 times a week re the parents and they used to be in daily contact over the phone and call in here about 3 to 4 times a week (always unannounced which was a real pain tbh.) We never go there , we are not invited, we are not the type to visit anyway tbh, (l very rarely go to my Brothers house) and we are not allowed to phone after 8 o'clock but whenever you ring the phone is off the hook , her DH does that !
I think your retirement age will be 68 Fluffy only a year more than me m'dear but l am sure you will have a good pension pot/lump sum and this is what l am using to pay myself a wage like l had before. l had to finish or put the parents in a home , even though l loved my job l couldn't put them in a home l would die from the guilt. Funny enough l don't miss my job at all but l think it is prob because l am still doing it looking after the parents lol Xmas Grin. Glad your commute isn't too bad today and you only have 2 weeks left of this awful upheaval. Have a good day m'dear Xmas Smile
Right better shift my carcass , Dsis is doing the parents today Xmas Smile
Have a lovely day everyone Xmas Smile
