We have a weird superstition that my grandad has just reminded me of: don’t use the washing machine on New Year’s Day else you’ll wash a family member away’ sounds ridiculous but it’s one of the few we all religiously stick to! 🤷🏻‍♀️
Families are funny things haha.

He doesn't normally get that many Mrs, 80 are 89p, every few weeks he'll ask me for 89p. He asked Father Christmas for "a trillion thousand Robux", so I bought him 1600.

I'm not going to allow games that require money credits to play them; I feel that I'd rather have that battle than one about money!

I'm going to do a science kit with DD shortly, as she's been dying to do it since Christmas Day. Then we will take the trees down and get our lounge and dining rooms back to normal.

We did two loads of washing last night. I don't hold by superstitions, but won't be washing today as it's all done. If I had washing to do I'd just do it. Too much washing round here to adhere to daft superstitions! 😂

My thighs ache from having done 6 hours at the allotment in 2 days. It's the constant squatting while weeding which has done it mostly, I think! And I still need to finish it off! The composter needs time to drop down though, so I'll save it until a Friday when the kids are at school!

Bit of a lazy day here today as I'm back to work tomorrow. It's going to be hard after 13 days off.

Your choice gift cards with park being paid off weekly I started them on the 1 st of November, Christmas escape booked already, Christmas day lunch provisionaly booked . Oh and we've set up a monthly dd to save with credit union for extra Christmas related costs

We are STILL watching Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. They are keeping me calm and entertaining me lol

I worked with someone who didn't believe in any superstitions except the one about 1 magpie being bad luck! She'd do a rhyme and little dance (I think!) if she saw a lone magpie!

The irony is that there are never lone magpies as they are always in at least a pair, you just might not be able to see the other one(s)!

I think my not believing in superstitions is because my parents weren't either. I'm just ridiculously pragmatic and analyse everything to assess its logic. I think it goes with the job, somewhat!

Anyone else can believe what they like, but it's not for me! 🤷‍♀️

fluffy I get that. For me it's cultural. Judaism is super super tied into superstitions. You should never name a kid after someone who's alive because if you do the angel of death (Azrael) might take the wrong one on accident. Red string around the wrist to ward off the evil eye. Things like that.

I've never ever heard the one about the magpie lol I don't even know what magpies are! If anyone has a photo of a magpie I'd love to see.

Superstitions are hard for me. Because I have such bad anxiety and OCD so like those chain letters? I have to post them and then usually delete them. Because if I don't they make me freak out.

Most superstitions I don't believe in but still do because my family always did them lol

Speaking of birds though. Not really superstitions but two days ago there was a murder of crows in my yard. So now I'm putting out nuts for them and shiny bits of metal and trying to befriend a crow army lol

My midwife appointment is Thursday, I think it’s at 11.30 but better double check my maternity notes to make sure will only be doing 3 and a half hours at work Thursday due to that appointment. I think I see her every 3 weeks now instead of every 5, then it drops down to every 2 weeks. I hope she can do or recommend something, this pain is horrendous

I do the magpie one, I say hello Mr magpie how’s your wife, and salute it used to make my dad laugh so much! My dad used to say ‘hello mr magpie you thieving bastard’ 😂 I remember my dad’s saying of ‘if it wasn’t for bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at all’ 😂

Eeee I’m so excited. Paddy got me a voucher for another 4d baby scan at the same place we had ours last time. It needs to be done by 30 weeks due to my anterior placenta blocking the view. Going to ring them tomorrow and try and get booked in for next week
This will more than likely be the last scan I have before she’s born, I can’t wait to see my beautiful wee girl
