Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thank you for the happy land recommendation! I’m hoping it comes down in price after Xmas! Smile

ChoccyJules · 10/12/2018 09:07

I think I’m done except for trying to think of gifts for boys age 4 and 7 to take to friends abroad, I’d really like something ‘typically British’ or just a bit different to what they would usually have (mainland Europe). Have done London red bus and black cab before.

Lovemusic33 · 10/12/2018 09:10

Thank you for the new thread and the title 🤣

I’m all finished but hanging around incase I twitch or see anything nice for myself.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 10/12/2018 09:14

@ChristmasDaydreams it's £15 in mothercare

MsMiaWallace · 10/12/2018 09:23

margaritasbythesea · 10/12/2018 09:33

caffeineanddryshampoo · 10/12/2018 09:44

40% off Urbanoutfitter gifts with code ELF

caffeineanddryshampoo · 10/12/2018 09:46

Thank you to whoever recommended the Ordinance Survey Puzzle Book. I gave it to my dad as an early present yesterday because he's in hospital having a triple heart bypass operation. I thought it'd keep him busy while recuperating. He says it's fascinating and can't put it down!

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 10/12/2018 09:48

checking in, can’t find the person but wanted to say thank you for the offer of the groomerang thingy. it's to sort out a beard and my undercut so needed to be clippers, but thank you very much for spreading the love Xmas Smile

trixymalixy · 10/12/2018 09:49

Morphe have 20% off today only and free shipping over £20. Code is MERRYAF

CarrotVan · 10/12/2018 09:53

@youryour try John Arbon for wool socks. If 100% wool and for wearing then you want a tightly spun yarn that’s hard wearing like Shetland or Falkland. If it’s just bed socks then a cashmere, alpaca, merino will be fine. If you want merino for wearing then you need the nylon % to stop them wearing out really quickly

newusernameforxmas · 10/12/2018 09:55

Thanks for the nutcracker recommendations. For those who were looking for something similar, I've gone for the Lego version as our Father Christmas delivers toys:

CarrotVan · 10/12/2018 09:56

@macnab try One Hundred Stars - they had some beautiful silk scarves for very good prices

BeaLola · 10/12/2018 09:59

Disclaimer: no idea if any good but ..

Robert Dyas have 15% off with code XMAS15 - have just bought Stojo collapsible mugs for my secret santa under click & collect (didn't realise Ryman counted as part of their click & collect stores).

Notlongnow1 · 10/12/2018 10:07

@ChoccyJules Paddington DVD? We watched last night - good fun and very London!

NewDayBlankPage · 10/12/2018 10:09

Thanks you for the teapot ideas and thanks reastie for a new thread.
What is happening or has happened with everyone’s birch boxes? One arrived on Saturday but not the other. Does the second one come separately? If I cancel now will I still get the second one? (I should as I’ve already paid for it?). Thanks :)

DanceDanceDance80 · 10/12/2018 10:13

I'm just about finished too.... just looking for hatchibabies then I'm done! Anyone seen any bargains?? Cheapest I've seen is 39.99

Spam88 · 10/12/2018 10:24

Checking in, even though I'm done. Completely done. All wrapped and everything, apart from the extra presents I've bought after being done.

Don't want to miss any bargains though... and actually I could do with something else for my DH. I've bought him a radio/speaker that he asked for and then just chocolate and alcohol for his stocking.

recklessgran · 10/12/2018 10:32

Ah thankyou @GirlWithTheYellowHat, it was me with the spare Groomerang. If anyone wants it please pm me your address and I will gladly post in the spirit of the thread - no charge.
[ Bought 2 from Amazon by mistake and would have to pay to return the one I don't need so would prefer to give to someone who could make use of it as a stocking filler.]

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 10/12/2018 10:37

Thanks for the new thread reastie.
New day, if it was the 2 boxes for £5 one they should have arrived together. Mine came last week. Anytime I have got birchbox ( always when a free box is on offer ) they always come together.

Yeknom · 10/12/2018 10:49

Choccyjules - how about a 3D jigsaw of Big Ben or something? I swear I saw one in not too big of a box the other day, might be the works?

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 10/12/2018 10:50

Thanks for the new thread and sending lots of happy thoughts to the posters having a hard time at the moment.

I did the Elemis deal and got a scratch card in my box - £20 off when you spend £80. If it's any good to anyone, the pic is below:

Casablanca78 · 10/12/2018 11:37

Can anyone help me - my 2.5 year old has been consistently telling everyone that he has asked for a spiky hedgehog for Christmas.
I tried showing him a cuddly one in a farm gift shop but he’s very adamant it needs to be spiky. Only thing I’ve seen is one of those boot scrapers in the garden centre, which is neither safe nor sensible to give to a toddler as it’s very sharp/bristly and heavy! (Cast iron). Santa’s really got his work cut out here hasn’t he! Any ideas?
Thank you

imsorryiasked · 10/12/2018 11:37

@wornoutboots how about a book on conversation skills Grin
