Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it [thanks

The Lottie doll canoe is on Amazon lightning deals at the moment for £12 (£35 usually).

imsorryiasked · 08/12/2018 09:44

@ecofreckle how old is MIL? damart have some but not to everyone's taste!

ecofreckle · 08/12/2018 09:57

@imsorryiasked she is a young ish 59. I married a man 10 years my junior so she's not actually that much older than me Blush To my knowledge damart is thermals and sensible, I'll take a look. Thanks for the idea though.

sunshineNdaisies · 08/12/2018 10:13

Thanks everyone! I think that's me done now! Only presents left are for MIL and FIL (which DH does as he knows them better) and obviously me from DH.

Now to avoid the twitch!

WoahBodyforrrm · 08/12/2018 10:17

I need ideas please. On a very unchristmassy subject, I have recently found out my bloody brain tumour has returned after just 3 years. My specialist nurse has been amazing and has gone above and beyond to pull me off the floor and get meetings in place with a plan of action. I want to get her something really lovely to show her how much I appreciate her support (and calm replies to my frantic 3am emails) Obviously, I don’t know her on a personal level so don’t know what she’s into so I’m not sure where to start. I just know it needs to be lovely. I’m still an avid bargain hunter and because I’ll be having surgery/radio/chemo in the new year, I won’t be working as much as I do now so need to really stockpile my next few wage packets.

So any ideas would be wonderful. I should add, I’m going for an appointment on Monday so need to have it by then 😱.

My mum is a nurse woah and loves burts bees, really helps lips and hands with all the washing and dry air. Sending you very best wishes for your treatment.

Thanks @TittyBoneGhoul and @leeloo1 for posting about the lightdagger and lottie canoe, two more presents bought, even though I said I was done about 2 weeks ago! Great offers.

WoahBodyforrrm · 08/12/2018 11:10

Brilliant thank you all! Glad to see Burts Bees recommenced more then once. I think I’ll go for that kit, a nice decoration and a big box of chocolates for her to share with the other staff in the department.

Thanks for all your well wishes, i’ve got 4 little ones to keep me going. There will be many more Christmas’ together for us all 🎅🏽🎄

Spam88 · 08/12/2018 11:12

Really sorry to hear that woah.

Worth bearing in mind that if she's NHS then she won't be able to accept anything of too much value. In my current trust we're not supposed to even accept chocolates (although people do). I think most people would be happy to accept a token gift though, and the ideas here are nice :)

ShoppingBasket · 08/12/2018 11:47

Can anyone recommend over ear headphones for under 30 pounds for a teenager please.

yellowsun · 08/12/2018 11:54

Any suggestions for 16 and 18 year old girls? I might just do vouchers. It not sure where for H&M? Top Shop? What make up brands are coveted by young’uns?!

trixymalixy · 08/12/2018 12:08

My nails Inc crackers have arrived and they’re lovely, so sparkly!! Thanks to whoever posted the link, can’t imagine having paid £66 for them though. Hmm

trixymalixy · 08/12/2018 12:10

I’m looking for a personalised blanket for under £20 if anyone can help. All the ones I’ve seen are baby blanket sized or look crap quality. They need to be single bed sized.

Reastie · 08/12/2018 12:23

Woah I’m so sorry to hear that. I can vouch for burts bees, I’ve lived everything I’ve bought from them.

thaegumathteth · 08/12/2018 12:34

Good luck woah

Thanks for the lightsaber tip off I’ve bought one for the local present collection.

B&M have 20% off Lego which is already fairly cheap. Eg the quidditch set from Harry Potter.

WWYDhelpplease · 08/12/2018 12:42

Thanks for the lightsaber deal at Argos. That’s a bargain!
