Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@BuzzOff it got really good reviews on Philip Schofields Christmas programme the other day. I've bought dh and dd7 a Nintendo Classic as a family present. Dh had a Nintendo as a kid and loved it. The only reason I didnt get the Sega is because he was more of a Nintendo fan so the nintendo edged it for me. Having done a ridiculous amount of research, I can tell yoy the Sega comes with 80 games, the Nintendo comes with 30. The sega with wireless controllers had a few negative reviews because the wireless controllers arent great. But, you can get a wired version that is a bit cheaper. This one got better reviews. I will see if I can find a link. For the nintendo, I bought an extension cable pack (to make the controller cable longer) and second controller so dd and dh can play together. It cost £62 all in, which I thought was very reasonable.

That is a link to the wired one. £20 cheaper than the HD. If I'd have gone Sega I was going to get that one because of the bad reviews of the wireless controllers. However, the Nintendo edged it as dh loved his as a kid. And it had pacman, which I loved! Grin

Brighton we've had Exploding Kittens since the DTs were about 7 I think? It's quite an easy game, mostly luck rather than skill. I would think a 5/6 yo that is game minded or already understand the basics of card games (pickup up, discarding, collecting) would be able to learn to play. As they get older they will be better at destroying other players!

choconuts and rosablue thank you for your Elemis and Miatui tips. Now got bargainous gifts for godparents from DDs!

Jammiebammie · 01/12/2018 08:07

Happy 1st of December everyone Grin Sorry I’ve been awol a couple of days, the winter bug has hit the jammie house!

Finally finished dd2s stranger things advent calendar (hopefully it was worth staying up until 3am making Blush) A huge thanks to everyone who helped me find things for it, and for all the Lol help too.

Check your emails this morning, I’ve got one for 20% off Matalan, but it’s in store only, frustratingly!

BestofLuck · 01/12/2018 08:12

Happy 1st December Jammie!

An offer of £10 off with free delivery and returns on Woolovers in the newspaper this morning.

Mrsmadevans · 01/12/2018 08:26

BestofLuck · 01/12/2018 08:35

That's a shame imsorryiasked. Didn't notice in the small print.

BuzzOff · 01/12/2018 08:50

@LokiBear Thank you so much for that brilliant info and link, I think I'll take a look at the Nintendo too, I too was partial to a bit of Pac man! Thanks so much

Jammiebammie · 01/12/2018 08:58

Can’t take credit for this, as I found it on hot deals but for HP fans there’s a cute bundle at Zavvi for £25, worth £74 and has kids & adult sizes too.

Jfw82 · 01/12/2018 09:07

Rosablue thanks for Mia Tui tip. Didn't need anything else but a few ppl getting a shopper added to their gift plus a shopper and travel bag for me Blush

1stMrsF · 01/12/2018 09:22

I want to get DD a light up alarm clock but the choice is bewildering. Can anyone recommend one?

I used to have a lumie, but they don't seem to have multi colours that other males have, which I think she'd like. Also they are £££ compared to some, but perhaps the cheaper ones are rubbish?

TIA

Apologies I can’t remember who the poster was, it I’m sure someone was after a nutcracker for their little one? I’ve found this one reduced, and it can be personalized too. Hope it helps :)

Thank you for all the feedback on the garmin vivo junior. I think I will wait a little as DCs are 6 and 8. Much appreciated!

Just spotted the John Lewis beauty advent calender is half price. Trying so hard not to twitch!!

PinkDaydreams · 01/12/2018 09:35

Has anyone seen any Christmas stocking for all the family? I want matching for mum dad and baby, would be nice with names if possible? I don’t want anything too babyish. Thank you!

vjg13 · 01/12/2018 09:47

Thank you to the poster who put up the Elemis code. Lovely hand wash for £6 here too![santa]

FrederickCreeding · 01/12/2018 09:56

Not present related (well apart from for me!) but I've been looking for a running watch for ages and haven't been able to decide which one to get.

Having seen Tami's description of the Garmin, I think you've persuaded me that that's the one I need as it seems to have all the features I've been looking for.

DeezMutts · 01/12/2018 10:06

Yes I’ve ordered two Elemis hand washes (on separate orders, obvi) thanks to that code. Perfect present for dds dance teacher plus one for my mum. I had to use a different email address on the second order so it must be one code per customer. Weirdly the gift box option disappeared at some point which was annoying as it would have made them easier to wrap Grin

buckeejit · 01/12/2018 10:06

I'm after a teacher present - he likes guitars. Should I just give a bottle of wine? Don't know if he likes wine though, (we're NI & he might be quite Presbyterian & not drink)

duzzlightyearsmum · 01/12/2018 10:24

Could someone point me in the right direction for the HP pop up book please? Can't seem to find the original post now.

FrederickCreeding · 01/12/2018 10:28

duzz It's on Amazon - A pop-up guide to Hogwarts

duzzlightyearsmum · 01/12/2018 10:32

Frederick thank you!

rosablue · 01/12/2018 10:36

@buckeejit does the teacher use a plectrum to play guitar? If so a plectrum press (basically a strong hole punch that cuts out plectrum shaped holes from plastic and where you keep the bit punched out!) can be found on amazon or eBay from about a fiver upwards.

Or also search them and Etsy for personalised plectrum.
