Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@GirlWithTheYellowHat it ao switch bundle is still available it's on their eBay page. £299 for switch with mario kart and Zelda. I couldn't get the Mumsnet code to work though

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 26/11/2018 12:50

I found myself in an Aldi today (not one nearby do a v rare occurrence!) and bought pretty much once of all their christmas food range...I really need to get on with buying actual presents Hmm

Maranello · 26/11/2018 13:04

@thaegumathteth I will. Am hoping it will be straightforward. Amazon would be easy enough I think but I paid more for the WB version so would rather get that one refunded!

MinorRSole · 26/11/2018 13:12

@Offredismysister (great username, huge fan!) Costco is about 30 miles away which is close by my standards but don't you need a card? I thought it was for shops etc?

margaritasbythesea · 26/11/2018 13:25

I hope you get well soon Reastie. Sounds nasty.

For those looking for Barbie things I saw these advertised in the Lidl mag starting on the 29th. They also had nice mecanno type sets and drones.

@minorsole I've been tracking the price of a balsam hill tree since October. Since then there's been sale after sale at various percentages but the price of the one I am watching hasn't changed by a single penny. I'm thinking they only sell them "full price" for the bare minimum time required by advertising standards.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 26/11/2018 13:30

Primark had loads coats on sale today in ladies wear and also the large HP baubles were half price so £3 ours had loads but I am not a HP fan so unsure if sought after or not.

Wilkos blocks advent calendar down to £6 sadly I have created a Lego snob so had to buy the real deal.

MinorRSole · 26/11/2018 13:31

They look so beautiful 🌲 there was a thread about them on here a couple of years ago and I've been lusting after one ever since. I feel like they need a beautiful bay window to show them off: I don't have a beautiful bay window ☹️

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 26/11/2018 13:34

firebox code has been taken

Drummingisfun · 26/11/2018 13:35

I had planned to go actual shop shopping today but instead I'm at home on my 9th load of washing after the kids came down with a stomach bug overnight

imsorryiasked · 26/11/2018 13:40

@Reastie hope you're soon feeling better

@dancemom how about polar express book and cd comes down to £3.74 if you use code CYBER25 (25% off at The book people)
And how about a calendar or diary for your friend. Sticking with the Book people they have lots but I like this one

Ewock · 26/11/2018 13:44

Jfw82 thanks so much for the information. We have prime at the moment, we were going to cancel it after Christmas so good to know I can subscribe to music.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 26/11/2018 13:46

Someone on the last thread was asking about brown wrapping paper....

B&M do a 6m x 75cm roll for £1.49

(it's 100% recycled too)

SockEatingMonster · 26/11/2018 13:50

I hope you feel better soon @Reastie

There is 20% off all Amazon Warehouse Deals today. For those who don't know, Warehouse Deals tend to be items that have been returned to Amazon for whatever reason. You can search via the link, or just click on the 'new & used offers' bit on the product pages and look for items sold by 'amazon warehouse'. Items in 'Used - Like New' condition are completely indistinguishable from new items and covered by all the usual Amazon guarantees. Quite a few of the 'Very Good' items come in original packaging and are mostly good enough to give as gifts. Generally speaking, they're items that have been opened then resealed and returned. I quite often buy 'Very Good' items for the DC as I figure that things get a bit bashed anyway en route from the North Pole.

I only found out about the 20% off by accident when buying something for DS. It said '20% off' in very small print under the price, but I assumed that it had already been taken off. I was over the moon when it knocked over £20 off at the checkout!

margaritasbythesea · 26/11/2018 13:50

CYBER give 50% off everything at LaLa Land.

There is 25% off everything at Dorothy Perkins online. Seems there is no code.

20% off at Cotswold Outdoors. Again, looks like no code needed.

SockEatingMonster · 26/11/2018 13:52

I forgot to say - check the description of the item under the condition and it will tell you whether it comes in original retail packaging or not

debbiewest0 · 26/11/2018 13:53

Ive found the mass of brown wrapping/packing stuff in amazon boxes quite wide and very useful for wrapping presents rather than buying brown paper.... I leave it out a while as it has a funny smell but once smoothed out and decorated it looks fine and helps reduce waste 😀

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 26/11/2018 13:57

I have just agreed to the work secret santa. I don't really know this lady. She drives, I think she has grown up kids. She recently bought a dusky pink soft throw. That's all I have. I don't think she drinks.
She strokes me as the type to like the finer things in life. Anyone have any ideas? Budget is £5.

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 26/11/2018 13:58

So, people might remember my plea for the Groot dressing gown last week.

Today, one arrived in the post, from an absolutely amazing MN'er, who not only collected it and posted it to me, won't accept a penny for it.

I don't want to say her user name in case I embarrass her, but Christmas Magic just hit our house, and I'm truly humbled and grateful for the kindness.

I'll pass the love onwards soon Smile

MinorRSole · 26/11/2018 13:58

Has anyone successfully cancelled their beer52 subscription? I just phoned up to do it but was 17th in the queue and I could just imagine that all being cancellations so I felt guilty and hung up Blush
If you've phoned to cancel what did they ask and are they narky? wuss

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 26/11/2018 14:02

I sent an email!

orangemouth · 26/11/2018 14:10

DH recently won an iPad so I'd like to get him a case for it. I'm thinking a personalised one with photos of the DDs, any recommendations?

DeezMutts · 26/11/2018 14:13

Just marking place even thought I’ve absolutely definitely finished my shopping and absolutely definitely won’t be buying anything else Xmas Grin

trixymalixy · 26/11/2018 14:16

Thanks to whoever posted about the buyagift 26% off. Juts purchased indoor skydiving for the kids. They'll be over the moon!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 26/11/2018 14:26

@MinorRSole. I frequently re-start my Beer52 subscription to take advantage of special offers. It can take a bit of hanging on on the phone to cancel it but once you get through to someone they are very friendly and helpful. I am totally honest about just taking advantage of a special offer and it's always been fine! I'm sure they will get fed up with me at some point though Blush
